We met our daughter and her boyfriend for lunch…read more We arrived at 12:30 pm and the place was empty. We ordered 2 of the Beef ribs - 3 ribs with a side (onions rings) The daughter orders a rack (7 ribs) and the wife ordered the Chicken on a skewer. Issue 1: the place was cold - so much so my wife asked if they could turn up the heat. issue 2: we ordered and paid for our food at 12:45 pm. At 1:15 pm I got up to see where they were. I was told the food would be out in 5 minutes. 12 minutes later one order of beef ribs came out. The rest came out in 4 minutes intervals. Not wanting to be rude i waited until everyone was served. By the time the food was all served it was cool. Issue 3: the back ribs were very fatty. In fact the bones seemed more fat than meat. Three ribs $40 and Seven ribs $85. So a rib with 50% fat makes these prices seem ridiculous. Issue 4: a lack of serviettes. When you have three orders of ribs. Six napkins is not enough. Issue 5: no one came out to see if the meal was fine, did we need more napkins or if we wanted desert. Issue 6: the ribs are smoked. In fact the smoke was very good but you could not order plain ribs. I asked that my sauce be served on the side. It was slathered over my ribs. Issue 7: a complete lack of salt. I found a single salt seller and I was surprised at how badly the meal needed salt. But without out it and the food was him drum. Bottom line: try somewhere else

I received another text at 4:20 saying my order could be picked up at 4:55. When I called to find out what was going on, and if my order would actually be ready at 4:55, I was told that they were out of rice and if I wanted to change it to another side. I did not have time to wait and was concerned my order time would change for the 3rd time, so asked for my order to be cancelled. I was told that my order was already on the grill and they would prefer not to cancel. I had to tell them 3 times that I did not have time to wait, as my order was now going to be almost 45mins after the initial time I was told it would be ready.

I tried aunty's kitchen for the first time and I was very disappointed. My friend recommended me…read moretheir butter chicken so I ordered it to go. When I opened the butter chicken I only had two small pieces of chicken in the whole container. The naan also felt more like a pita. The flavour wise for the butter chicken was ok but the lack of chicken was very disappointing. Service was okay, it's only a to go spot so there is no seating, you just order and go. Overall, dissatisfied with the lack of chicken.

Aunty's Kitchen is the go-to place near campus to get a late night meal: lots of carbs, rice, meat,…read morerice, and chicken. Did I mention carbs? Aunty's Kitchen used to be a sit down place, but they have transitioned to a pickup only store. Their online ordering (use only their own website and account) is the best way to place your order. They are usually without 5 - 10 mins from the selected pick-up time, plan accordingly. The in-store experience is a bit of a wait, just order online else, you might be waiting while they process the online orders. Order: - Fusion Shawarma Plate with Butter Naan The spiced fries are still a favourite, it stays crispy for a long time and a quick blast in the oven/air-fryer will revive it. The butter chicken is very saucy and get the garlic sauce because you'll need it with the ample fragrant biryani rice. The butter naan is nice and soft and if you reheat it, you can crisp it up into a buttered cracker. Any leftovers heat up well and is even more flavorful the next day. If it isn't demolished on the first go, you won't be missing anything having it later.

So I was in Waterloo for a week or so on work and got quickly bored with the cereals, salads and…read morecold sandwiches for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A quick browse in Google brought up New Delhi amongst the top searches and so I and a colleague decided to try the place. Ambience and welcome (5/5) The very first aspect that impresses when you enter the place is the ambience; its warm and relaxing and more importantly ever smiling pleasant demeanor of Mr.Gaurav (Who runs the place) makes you like the place instantly even before you have tasted the food :-) Friendliness of staff and customer service (5/5) The staff take the effort to ask about our spice tolerance which was important as I had a colleague who was not Indian but was curious about Indian food and I wanted to make sure the experience was worth it. To mention, I had ordered a take-away and one item in my order was left behind; I called up the place and Mr.Gaurav personally delivered the item to my hotel. That is a fine example of customer service I have experienced. Dishes ordered: Papdi chaat (5/5) The 1st item we had was the papdi chaat and it was amazing. The right mix of chutneys and flavors made it a delectable eat. Take a look at the picture. Droolworthy, aint it? Veg biryani (4/5) We ordered Veg biryani and from a taste point of view, it was very good. However, the biryani rice was a bit sticky and not separate as how basmati rice usually is; but that had no impact on the gastronomic experience :-) , we polished off the dish in no time Dahi bhalla (5/5) Now, I have had chaat at Lucknow, Amritsar, and Delhi itself, and I can say with authority that the dahi bhalla holds up well to its competition :-) Veg thali (5/5) Value for money I went again couple of days later for lunch and ordered their veg thali which comprises of a big naan, basmati rice, 2 veg dishes, kheer, raita, and some lettuce salad. This is a value for money deal. The portion is just perfect for a single person. Fun fact: They also stock Indian softdrinks such as Limca, Thums up :-) As desi as it can get. New Delhi also makes fresh Indian sweets and having tasted their Gulab Jamun, Rasmalai, and Kheer, I would highly recommend them as the go to place for Indian sweets during festivals. Price wise, I feel its reasonable. Not too expensive. Rightly priced. The one thing every desi misses is ghar ka khana. New Delhi was my go to place. Kudos to Mr.Gaurav for running such an amazing place. I hope to visit Canada again and will definitely visit New Delhi :-) To conclude: The place definitely lives up to its name...
