OMG I absolutely LOVE my new KitchenAid brushed nickel mixer. I made a nice batch of devils food cupcakes and it handled this task very well. A truly horrible experience with a KitchenAid dishwasher (under warranty) ANDY their factory service. The unit stopped working properly after 11 months and was down for an entire month. We had 7 service visits (6 documented). We hand washed, used paper/plastic/styrofoam for a month. KitchenAid could care less. I have a top-of-the-line KitchenAid gas range, KSGB900ESS0, original cost $2,400. Some parts of the oven are no longer in warranty. Two months ago, the oven would not go on and display was showing an error. I contacted the KitchenAid authorized repair. They came on site and determined 2 parts needed to be ordered. It is now 2 months later, and they are still waiting for the part. Every two weeks the authorized repair company would inform us that the part was due in 2 more weeks. I contacted the Whirlpool parts dept., KitchenAid's parent co. and warehouse. They said the part was still not due for another 4 months. Assuming the part arrives in 4 months, this is a total of 6 months without use of the oven. I contacted KitchenAid several times and spoke to a higher level of support. The outcome was I just have to wait. My suggestion to get the same part, which was available from outside distributors, was not accepted. I suggested to get the part from an existing oven in their warehouse, or to just replace the oven were also rejected. This is still a current model sold in most appliance stores. There is no reason for KitchenAid to not plan for parts to support their sales and customers. And if circumstances brought about this situation, then KitchenAid should go the extra step and do what is needed to support their customers. Would anyone buy a car from a company who could not get parts? The Kitchen Aid solution to just wait 6 months or more without the use of their oven is unacceptable. read more

Was sold a KitchenAid dishwasher for it's "quality" and service. Don't be deceived. It uses cheap plastic for it's racks which become brittle and break, which it did. Called customer service and they put me in touch with their parts department. While waiting on the phone for an hour did some digging online and followed the complaints to the part I needed -- $20 at amazon. Waited another 10 minutes on the phone and finally got a rep, but had to wait another 10 minutes while he looked up the model. He quoted me $300. You have to be kidding me! The classic stand mixer works great, but I wanted a return label for another item. I waited on the phone for over an hour and they told me I would be emailed a return label in 5 business days. Label never came. I tried the Live chat with an expert. What a joke! I was chatting with a virtual assistant that told me my mailing address was invalid and I couldn't proceed! Insane! The warranty for KitchenAid products is a joke. I've owned one of their $1500+ top microwaves for 9 months. It started malfunctioning - so I called customer service to place a warranty request in October 2020. Countless hours on hold with customer service, being told I could NOT speak to a manager, 4 service repair tech visits later - it's now January 2021 and no solution in sight. They refuse to just replace it. Instead they keep ordering parts that don't fix the issue and thanks to COVID shipping is wildly slow. Such poor customer service. Kitchen aid French door counter depth fridge - just took delivery of a defective fridge and have had Nothing but a nightmare response from whirlpool( who owns kitchen aid). There was immediately excessive condensation inside the fridge which seeped out and down the freezer compartment. All drawers were clouded. They had me call for a REPAIR appt and after three weeks of cancelled appointments by them (tech got sick) i couldn't get another appt until MID JULY. When I remodeled my kitchen I bought two KitchenAid wall ovens (and all other KitchenAid appliances). The ovens are less than 7 years old. Despite having two ovens I cook very infrequently. (I would use one of them about 3x times a month). After a few years the first oven kept heating despite being turned off. A month ago the second oven also continued heating even after being turned off. I called the appliance man (for both ovens) and he told me that both ovens need a new main board. He also said that the oven's malfunction was "very dangerous." I spent over $3,500 on each oven (and used the first one perhaps 75 times before it malfunctioned) AND the second oven has the same malfunction. It's pretty clear to me that it is a manufacturing defect. I will NEVER buy KitchenAid appliances again. (I've had problems with the dishwasher and the refrigerator). read more

I previously wrote about this company on January 29th. I was waiting and hoping that my niece would receive her refund for the counter mixer that I returned. The company signed for it on January 15th and obviously, by January 29th she still didn't receive her credit. I called four more times and FINALLY on February 14, 2020 my niece was shocked to see the credit actually showing on her credit card statement. There is no reason why this company should have taken a month to credit her account. Obviously, this company and the employees can not multitask when it comes to customer service. Yes, they are quick to take your payment the same day as your order but you have to go on a fishing trip to get your money back. Don't ever purchase a major appliance from KitchenAid. Our 1 year old refrigerator has been out twice in the last 6 months. Each time the outage lasted at least 6 weeks. The service process is slow and they don't tell you how to navigate the system. I finally learned by coercing a customer service rep that if parts aren't available for 15 business days, you become eligible for an "alternate resolution" which means a new refrigerator. Yesterday, the plastic push button to open the microwave broke; the plastic piece was very brittle and cracked in half. Before contacting KitchenAid, I saw on YouTube instructions for replacing the push button. Upon contacting KitchenAid's repair replacement company representative (apparently KitchenAid contracts with a parts replacement company located in Texas), the representative (Erica) informed me that there is no replacement part and we would need to purchase a new microwave. Seriously! A small cheap plastic button that breaks requires a brand new microwave???? Likewise, when I called the KitchenAid Service Department, they too provided the same information that we would need to purchase a new microwave oven. Instead, I'll buy some Gorilla Glue and do it myself to fix it. But we WILL NEVER purchase another Whirlpool, KitchenAid, or related company product. read more

Terrible customer service! Our dishwasher's drying stopped working less than 6 mos. after purchase. I called to schedule a service and I was placed on hold for over 20 min. While I was waiting, I tried to schedule a service call online, and they said they did not recognize my Model # and Serial #. But I double-checked and they are correct. Then I tried to do online chat. Was told that there was a 13 min wait. Then the guy on the phone finally picked up. When I started yelling at him for their lousy service, he transferred me to the Whirlpool dept without so much as a word, just to get rid of me. DO NOT PURCHASE KITCHENAID FOR ANYTHING!!!! The other day while making mashed potatoes the beater and the assembly just fell into the bowl. Hours on the phone with KA. Was told there are no authorized repairs anywhere near us but we could ship it to them at our cost and a fee to diagnose with no guarantees. Buyer Beware! Refrigerator by Kitchen Aid are manufactured with obsolete parts. In June of 2010 we build a new Home in Arizona and decided on an entire Kitchen Aid Kitchen. We still had our 30 year old blender that worked like a CHAMP! Only 4 1/2 years later we have endured multiple repairs on every major appliance including, Range Convection Microwave, Dishwasher and Refrigerator. That said the worst experience was with the fridge, It is a built in 48". First repair was the ice tub for the ice maker as this poor design constantly freezes the ice to the bottom and the screw stops turning. Since the repair I have to maintain the amount of ice and never use the CRUSHED setting. But my favorite of all (pure sarcasm) is this month. The defrost cycle on the fridge just decided to quit, so the fridge side is nice and warm the the freezer side is a chilly -18F. I called their certified factory repair here in Phoenix who knows me by name now and they explained that due to 2011 Tsunami in Japan they were unable to get the new part needed. Turns out the engineers decided to place a simple timer for the defrost on the main ECU for this, so now you need the entire board which should cost about $100.00, but the Tsunami has increased the price to $2000.00 on Ebay and probably won't work when you install it. I called customer service last month in November and they explained they are testing new boards as their contract expired with the vendor who was fixing the old ones. I asked the girl what is their expected delivery, she said we have no way of knowing. I am an Aerospace Engineer with Honeywell and we work on Boxes that control entire Landing Functions with Complex Software. The Refrigerator Boards are made of very simple and cheap components there is no way this should take more than 2 weeks to completely test and re-manufacture new boards. I feel like this company has changed drastically and is not the same. I will never buy another Kitchen Aid Product in my lifetime. Maybe my 30 year old blender will continue to work but I can see myself replacing every other major appliance in less than 5 years. We purchased all new KA appliances for our new Condo in 2017. Thye were installed in July of 2018. Since that time, we have had (2) Refrigerators, (3) Wall Ovens, and (2) Microwaves. Our first Refrigerator (side by side) had the wires cut at the bottom of the freezer door. This is a known design flaw, and they replaced the Refrigerator. We had to pay $600 out of our own pocket, plus for our own security, we bought another Refrigerator ($900 not a KA) as a backup. The replacement KA Refrigerator quit making ice and dispensing water a couple of months ago. KA's Technicians, Platinum Factory Service for are area in NE Ohio, came out to investigate. KA did say that they would cover this under Warranty. After four visits, replacing valves, ice maker motor, filter and housing assembly, we were told by PFS, that our water pressure was 140 PSI (fire hose LOL) coming out of the water line and that this was the issue. The PFS Tech had to run to Lowes to pick up a water pressure gauge, and I did not get to witness his reading, and told him I was very suspicious of that. He assured me it was correct and told me that I would need to get a licensed Plumber out to correct this problem before PFS could do anything further. I went to Lowes, bought a water pressure gauge myself, and checked an outside faucet, the water line to our R/O system, and the water line to the Refrigerator. All read 50 PSI. I communicated this to PFS, yet they insisted they were correct, and told me that if I was not willing to get a licensed Plumber to come out and correct the problem ($$$) that they would come back out and double check it, but if it read 140 PSI, I would have to pay for the service call, and then get a licensed Plumber to come out still to correct the problem. The PFS Tech arrived without a water pressure gauge and admitted to me that he didn't know how to use one. I showed him and we checked the outside faucet and the Refrigerator line. Both read 50 PSI. Putting that issue behind us, the PFS Tech continued methodically checking and determined it to be a frozen water bladder, which is another known KA problem. Why not check that and the water pressure on the very first visit? after thawing the bladder with a blow dryer and filling the leaking cool air area with putty, we now have water coming from the dispenser. We will see if we get ice as well. After four visits, lasting over 30 days, cleaning up after the Tech's leave each time, having to move all of our items to the downstairs Refrigerator and then move them back up again, we are exhausted!! If there is anything else KA with this Refrigerator, we want a new Refrigerator, not another PFS Service Tech! read more

Called kitchenaid and they say not a warranty issue. I can't even open my door all the way because of a wall. So I can image how much sooner the wire harness would have failed/torn. I also purchased an oven again well over 3k and the fan on that went out after 3.5 years and I hardly use the oven. Only once or twice a month. Kitchenaid didn't pay for that repair. I purchased kitchenaid aid because I had a kitchenaid refrigerator for over 10 years with no issues. Same exact style. Its obviously a design flaw that kitchenaid will not stand by. I just Bought a KitchenAid refrigerator. It was missing an ice tray and the holder. Multiple HOURS later I discovered that if you don't want an ice maker they do not include ice trays or the tray holder. About 15 to 20 times I was told I could have purchased an ice maker! I am currently having the worst experience ever with KitchenAid's customer service department. The top rack of my dishwasher broke so I contacted them because it is covered under my limited warranty. They agreed to send one of their contracted service people out. Then all communication stopped. Any question I had leading up to the service appointment was ignored. Then the service person shows up to my house and tells me that KitchenAid didn't tell him exactly what was wrong with the dishwasher. Upon inspection he tells me that he needs to order the parts from another location and that it will take about a week upon which time I need to schedule another service appointment with him. All of this could have been avoided had KitcheAid relayed which part needed fixing and the parts could have been ordered ahead of time. I called out of work for nothing. And when I contacted customer service again after this happened, I was once again ignored. Stay away from any product sold by this company. They don't give a crap about their customers. read more

Hello. I'm hoping to find some resolution to a problem with our KitchenAid refrigerator we purchased for our new home two years ago.. I have had numerous calls to KitchenAid with no absolutely no help. We purchased a full KitchenAid kitchen suite from HH Greg about 2-3 months before they went out of business. We literally have everything KitchenAid...refrigerator, stove, built in microwave, dishwasher, hood vent, blender, mixer, outside grill, and various other items. This is the second full KitchenAid suite we have purchased in the last 6 years. We have spent over $30,000 on KitchenAid products just in that timeframe. This does not include any singular items we purchased prior. Within 2 months of HH Greg closing our refrigerator began having serious issues. The first time, we were away on a trip. Upon returning home we found a huge puddle of water beneath the fridge from the ice maker defrosting, and all the food in the freezer had defrosted. The wood floors underneath were ruined after sitting for days in water. We called KitchenAid service, and they sent someone to come look at it. The repairmen had no idea what caused the issue, and attributed it to a singular instance. A few months later we had the same thing happen. Again, KithcenAid sent someone. Again they had no idea what the problem could be. No fixes. A few months later, the same issue. This time, I called a local appliance repair shop. Unfortunately they couldn't determine the problem either. This problem keeps occurring every few months leaving us to not only have to repair floors, but throw away all the food in the freezer. I angrily contacted KitchenAid about two months irate and demanding that the refrigerator be replaced. I was passed off to some third party warranty firm that HH Greg used. I have not been able to get anywhere with them. Now our fridge has been making all kinds of loud noises, and the refrigerator itself is not keeping food cold. The absolute unwillingness of KitchenAid to replace this lemon is astonishing! We started having issues within 5 months of our purchase (all of which is well documented) and haven't been in the least way compensated for the damage, lost food, or inconvenience. Don't ever purchase a kitchen aid refrigerator. I purchased a high end model 2 years ago and have had nothing but trouble with the refrigerator! Initially when they delivered the first unit, it never got cold so I ended up losing my entire freezer full of meat and other groceries. They then came out and delivered another unit. Since then I have had to have repairs done twice on the inside lighting and they finally had to replace the motherboard for the interior LED lights. I have also had them come out twice for the freezer door handle that after a few pulls on it to open the freezer becomes loose and rattles. The first time they replaced the handle entirely, then the second time they just came out and pulled the whole door apart to tighten it. So after one year I purchased an extended service contract since we had so much trouble. Now the ice maker doesn't work and they refuse to come repair it until I change the water filter. So I asked if they could at least come fix the ONCE AGAIN loose freezer door handle and their answer was, "I'm so sorry, that is not covered under the extended warranty". What a joke!!! I own three Kitchenaid products: a mixer, an automatic coffee maker and a small food processor. The mixer, for which the company is most known, is great. I would give it 4.5 stars. However, the two other products are so defective I have vowed not to purchase another Kitchenaid product again. I had been warned about the coffee maker in early consumer reviews I read, but thought I could live with its overly complicated programming instructions, faint readout and cumbersome water filling design. My favorite defect is the "ready" alarm. Try to remove the carafe prior to a few minutes AFTER the alarm sounds and you will be wiping coffee off your machine and counter. The problem is easy to diagnose - the spring of the drip valve is too weak to hold back any water left in the filter (a replacement filter holder has the same problem as the original, so I have to assume the fault is in the design), but Kitchenaid doesn't think this is a problem worth fixing. At least these coffee maker problems don't disable the machine. Such was not the case with my food processor. This appliance stopped working after about 25 uses. I found the problem to be a worn safety pin in the bowl unit. I contacted Kitchenaid, who apparently thinks 25 uses is the life of the machine. They offered me a new bowl unit for about half the cost of the entire appliance. No thanks, Kitchenaid. I'll shop for a new appliance manufactured by a company which will stand by its products. So, in summary, with the exception of their mixer I've found Kichenaid products to be shoddy and their customer service unresponsive. I would find another brand if you are in the market for a small kitchen appliance. Kichenaid products are not worth any price read more

This review is regarding KSM6573CCU mixer (modified version of KP26). Bought at Costco as 1hp=754watt mixer (printed on the unit). KitchenAid site advertised it as 575 watt unit. At the bottom of mixer there is a sticker - 350 watt max??? Call customer service and had childish explanation that if it would be AC motor it will be 1HP, but because it DC motor its only 575 watt??? After referring to the sticker answer was yes its 350 watt max - WOW, sound like major marketing gimmic. KitchenAid Artisan rated 325 watt and sticker show 325 watt. read more

These folks give an eight our window which means anything else you want to do for the day isn't going to happen. Worse at 3pm they still had not showed up or called. I called them and they said I was next on the list. Well come 5pm they still had not shown up. I called again and of course they were closed for the day. I have had issues with the dishwasher, the stove top and refrigerator. Have had representatives hers to assist, replace parts for the last year. They had the same problem. We called the service. They said there was a delay receiving hot water: we need to reset it. They charged me $120. Worst Custumor Service ever!!!! I have never seen such disrespect to custumors. I bought a artisan blender from the kitchenaid website and it came broken parts and asked them to return or replace. They processed a replacement, but I never had the product. It has been 2 weeks already they have the returned item but I still do not have the replaced one. I got an email saying my item transferred to technical team and it will be repaired and then returned it to me which is ridiculous!!!!! It has been a nightmare working with Kitchenaid to repair this frig. We purchased this frig at the recommendation form a friend and commercial supplier of appliances. This has been the worst frig I have ever owned. The service at Kitchen has been the worst ever X2. we purchased this model new in 2013 .. the ice maker started to not work , not produce ice and also melt in the ice holder door, usually onto our wood floors. The icemaker not producing ice was just a symptom to a bigger problem . The icemaker is smart eough to realize the frig temp isnt cold enough to produce ice. the internal frig compartment wasn't keeping cool enough to produce ice. but also wasnt keeping our perishables cold enough either. Yes rotten mill, meat , etc. We didnt realize this till like appt 6 or 7 through the process. It went from icemaker to coolant problems. after about 4 months of service appt and service appt and lots of calls Kitchenaid agreed to replace the unit.. That was no easy task Unit 2 comes and at month 11 we start experencing same problems. the temp in frig hasnt been below 50 degrees for 2 months. This is not good.. again the war with kitchenaid and their servicers begin. we are now on appt 5 for frig #2 and no end in sight. I just purchased another frig ( used, smaller ) fro garage to keep our food in until this is resolved. Today I had enough. I will use as many means as necessary of social media to pass this along. Regarding my dishwasher which is less than one year old. BUYER BEWARE. Kitchen Aid's service is deplorable. No one answers the telephone or responds to emails. You are on your own. THE KITCHEN AID COMPANY DOES NOT STAND BEHIND IT'S PRODUCTS WHEN A HEALTH OR SAFTEY ISSUES ARE OF CONSERN TO THE CUSTOMER IS AT RISK!!!!!!!!!! I have purchased a $1100 microwave about 3 years ago. The product worked great up until about 1 month ago when I started to notice condensation on the inside of the glass window I knew that I should get someone in but keep puitting it off. Today while cooking we heard this crackling sound and thought it was the bacon we were cooking. Then out of no where the glass revolving plate exploed. Now I find this to be a safety issue and called Customer Service, The first person I spoke with (Levi) was amazed at what happened and said it defindely sounded like a safety issue and could set up a appointment but could only cover the cost of parts, He suggested that he transfer me to another department who could probably cover everything. I spoke to another CS rep who said they could only cover 25% I then asked for a Customer Service Manager and AMY 3559 came on the phone. I explained all of the above and she said she was sorry but Levi said he never put down anything on the computer because his computer went down right after speaking to me. But did not say anything about covering anything, I explained that this was a safety issue and I am concerned once again I was told sorry. I then asked a direct question to AMY the CS Manager Did she cojsider this a safety issue and she replied"NO SHE DID NOT THINK IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE" The only thing she could do was schedule a appointment for a service rep to come out which would cost me $129 and that I would also have to pay for parts with a 25% discount. Bought three KitchenAid appliances at brandsmart (commercial range, kitchen hood, and dishwasher) on the promise of a $500 rebate. Turns out the mode of the dishwasher was not the correct model for the rebate (KDTE234 vs KDTE334) so they won't give me the rebate (and it's too late to return to brandsmart, who told me even if I return it KitchenAid won't honor the rebate because everything has to be sold on the same date). I can't imagine the difference between the two modes is that great, great customer service is measured by having a degree of flexibility (within reason). We redid our kitchen less than 2 years ago... of the new appliances was a kitchenaid gas cooktop. Just under 2 years after installation it stopped lighting. Paid $109 for a service call to tell us the igniter was broken. The next day they left a message said, we can't get the part. Called KA back... oh, yeah, we discontinued that model, so we no longer have parts, but we can give you a discount on a new one. This was about $1200 cooktop... WTF would I ever buy a KA again?
