Customer service and communication is terrible. Everyday different contractors showed up without proper updates from the previous workers or what was to be done the following day. Constant back and forth phone calls for clarity, and delays. I believe the workers are paid hourly as several days they sat around for hours doing nothing, and being on the phone which just extended my timeline. Several large black trash bags and a huge mailbox and post was dumped on my lawn and left for weeks. I have been rushed on the phone and assured "it will be handled" to no results. The finished work is fine but the process is terrible. Yesterday I called to add a room being painted and was told it was fine and would be added to my invoice. Today I spoke to the same person who pretended they never told me that, kept saying I'd have to pay and the workers could not paint for free? As if any human being would expect that? To then say I had to wait to speak to someone who was out of the country to get an updated price before it would be scheduled. That I needed to track him down to coordinate , instead of the professional thing to do of communicating internally and having someone reach out to me. There is no internal consistent communication for large projects. They left an entire checklist of things undone and submitted the project as complete.

However, things have changed and I regret using them for what should have been an easy job in 2026. The contract was for plumbing, electrical, installation of cabinetry and countertops. The job required permits (which they pulled) and HOC was to purchase all materials and products, except for backsplash tile. Number one, the agreement was to match existing cabinetry but instead we got the cheapest cabinets HD sells for a total of less than $500 (they charged us $950). Not only did the cabinets not match but they had no drawers or shelves, which they refused to correct. Number two, they sent non licensed workers to do the plumbing and electrical work, which failed inspection. Number three, the workers were never briefed beforehand on the job they were supposed to do. They relied on us to provide the contract and instructions on the work to be done. In summary, this was a hot mess. No communication between the various departments and the workers. I had to make numerous phone calls because drawings were not created (as agreed), products were not purchased and insistence of licensed contractors for permitted work (which they refused after failed inspection). In the end, adjustments to the original contract had to be made. The agreement was signed in January but because of all the issues, this simple job concluded in April. My review, I will never use them again, not happy with the job I paid for. BUYER BEWARE!!!

I did not have a good experience at all with this company. First, they changed project managers on…read moreme just before they came out to do that work without explanation. When the work started, they moved at a glacier pace with erratic attendance. There were days they did not show up at all, other days they would show up unexpectedly at 7am, and leave at 10am. This was never communicated with me. Next, mistakes started happening. They painted the walls the wrong color. They put up the shower door on the wrong side. They also put up the window blind backwards so I couldn't reach or use the rod to open and close it. After the shower door went up backwards, the project manager fired the workers, but the had no one to finish the work. When they finally came back to fix the shower tiles wrecked when the door went up on the wrong side, they didn't align the replacement tile patterns with each other so the pattern is disjointed and doesn't line up at all. The project manager told me it's not supposed to line up!? After complaining about it 3 times, they finally offered to replace the tiles. But they stalled on ordering them and now it's out of stock. There are also other problems - the shower faucets are not properly secured to the shower walls, the vanity light is separating from the wall and the light switch fixture is also separating from the wall. The floor tile is irregular with grout lines sometimes thick in places, other times nonexistent. Currently, they are not returning my calls or texts. I've even reached out to the owner who came out and promised to fix everything, but commented that I was overly concerned with "small" details. Now he has not returned my calls or texts about when he will come to fix things. Maybe I am concerned with details but I'd think that is common when paying 20k to have a bathroom redone according to an approved plan. At the very least, I expected that shower tile patterns would match up and that things would be well grouted or secured in shower and on walls. This was my first renovation in my first home and I'm so disappointed in how it turned out and how I was treated by the team. Also, this 2 week project took 5 and 1/2 weeks to get to where it is now. Overall the project was done carelessly with no attention to detail and with no acceptance of their mistakes and no attempt to repair the problems identified. I see they have had good reviews in the past, but my project did not go well at all. I would definitely recommend choosing another company. When I first complained they asked me not to write a bad review and I said that along as everything was fixed we had a deal. Nothing has been fixed and they are not communicating with me. I know have to either pay another company more money to fix their mistakes or take legal action to resolve the simple issues that could be easily fixed. If detail and having a project done to your liking is important I would not recommend H&C at all.

From the first moment, everything went flawlessly, which has not been my experience with other contractors. The company takes pride in its work and DOES sweat the details (in a good way!), ensuring there are no surprises when it comes to functionality, aesthetics, schedule, and costs. Their pricing was fair, and as someone who is a value-conscious consumer, I felt like the quality of the work - not to mention the ease of working with them - was tremendous for the price paid.
