Today I visited Dr. Kittay's office and honestly was a bit nervous because of all the reviews I saw prior but he was very kind throughout the visit. His staff were friendly, professional, considerate from the moment I scheduled my appointment over the phone to when I set up my follow-up in the office. Dr. Kittay also took the time to go over my diagnosis, provided me with information about the condition and took the time to address my initial concerns with the rashes I had on my body. I would highly reccomend Dr. Kittay and will continue to use him for my Dermatlogy needs! read more

Be prepared for a long wait time - like an hour on average. He's a rude & dismissive doctor, who simply doesn't listen at all and then denies to treat you for legitimate concerns and skin problems simply because he thinks it's "unnecessary" or "vanity". A dermatologist!!! Can you imagine? Then he hands you xerox copies of the different skin conditions you may have (their causes and treatments) because he doesn't want to explain anything himself. The message then becomes, "I've had to do this so many times and I can't be bothered to do it again for you." And you can tell that's his MO because the sheets are copies or copies of copies and are barely even legible anymore. The most offensive one was a pamphlet on the issues of "aging skin" and I'm not even 40 yet! The worst part is, the treatments he does provide don't work. I've been prescribed several different creams - treating different skin conditions - because he doesn't know how to diagnose patients. Some treatments made my skin worse. Then he says the treatment is working well when I can see it's getting WORSE. I look at my face several times a day in the mirror - he sees it once a month for a few minutes and I'm expected to believe he knows what I looked like the last time? I've seen a dozen or more dermatologists over my lifetime, and he is hands down the worst. read more

I went to him for a rash around my eyes. He prescribed a cream that didn't work, and he couldn't tell me what caused it. He guessed maybe dry skin? Totally ridiculous, plus he prescribed a drug when he didn't even know the origin or cause of rash. I called him to tell him that the cream wasn't working and he didn't even bother calling me back. Dr. Kittay's competency can be called into question. I went to see him for acne, and he put me on tetracycline medication, which is outdated, and proven to have damaging long-term effects - when there are other medications and treatment options. Then he insisted on doing comedone extractions at every office visit for me (because he made lots of money off it). Now, I have a relatively high pain threshold, but this became one of the most painful procedures ever, even though it is not supposed to be (if performed correctly). He worked roughly on my face, and I would get quite some blood from the extraction spots, tears from the pain, and nearly fainted twice because of the pain. He insisted on continuing to do this each time I went there, until I finally stopped and decided to see another dermatologist. To this day, the extractions by Dr. Kittay have left scars on my forehead. His acne treatment did not work on me. All it accomplished was making my body more immune to antibiotics (bacteria actually develop resistance very quickly to tetracycline). Kittay just kept increasing the tetracycline dosage, even though it only worked in the short term, until the bacteria in my body adapted to it. And then there were the side effects that I experienced from the tetracycline (intense nausea, had to change my eating schedule to work around it, tooth staining etc.). The doctor himself could be rude, did not listen to patients (my sister and mom were also his patients and equally dissatisfied). At one point, he laughed at my sister's rare fungal infection with one of his office staff (the cause of this type of skin fungal infection in people is still unknown by scientific studies). It goes without saying that a medical professional (anyone really) should not make fun of patients for their medical issues. Office staff: cold, unfriendly, unhelpful. Waited sometimes close to 1 hour from my appointment time to see him. Never going there again, glad my interaction with him is over. read more

When I arrived Dr. Kittay was verbally abusing his receptionists to the point where myself and another patron felt very uncomfortable in the waiting room. Which should of been my cue to leave. (Dear receptionist, you are better than that and deserve a boss whom doesn't disrespect you.) The Doctor was very aggressive to the point he ripped the paper gown. He was blunt, rude and mean. I suffered with a fungal infection in my groin for eight months longer than I needed to (and over a year in total) because of this doctor's incompetence. I came to him after having the rash already for six months - and his treatment did nothing to solve the problem. Kittay insisted on keeping me on a strong antifungal cream known to cause liver damage with prolonged use - this is a medicine that is supposed to be used for two weeks at most, and he insisted I use for six months straight. So much of my day-to-day life revolved around keeping the area dry, applying ointments at fixed intervals, etc - just to keep the infection from getting worse. Kittay seemingly would not listen to me over the course of multiple visits and phone calls when I told him the rash wasn't improving. When i would ask questions, he would become irritated and snippy. Meanwhile I could not have a sex life for over half a year, Was constantly itchy and uncomfortable, etc. I finally sought a second opinion - within two weeks of treatment by a competent dermatologist my rash has completely disappeared, and I am on a regimen of oral antifungals for the time being to ensure that the rash does not come back. Long story short - this guy seemingly does not know what he's doing, his rapport with patients is terrible - he is rude, dismissive, and cranky. Waited OVER A MONTH for "after school" appt. Parking is annoying. Walked in, receptionist was behind closed glass, didn't acknowledge us, but I signed in on sheet. Waited OVER an hour and when I asked, she said she never "saw" us (?) There was no referral, and it was now "too late" to call anyone (after 530pm). She offered us an appt at 9:30am. If I could give this doctor zero stars I would. Three people were scheduled for a 2 o clock appointment in including myself which makes no sense because you can't see more than one person at a time. That resulted in me waiting 2 hours before I finally even left the office. That should've been my first red flag to run. I went in with high hopes that he would put me on a medication such as Accutane because I've tried almost every other medication out there for my severe cystic acne. I told him that I had taken pills for it, tried creams and gels and he pretty much disregarded what I said. He gave me two prescriptions one for a gel that I had already used and for pills which I had already taken trying to help subside the acne which didn't work and I expressed that to him but he refused to put me on Accutane now. He told me to come back in a month and if I really wanted to then he would put me on Accutane. But it already took me three months just to get this appointment so I don't think there's anyway that I would even be able to come back in a month. And in previous reviews you can see that he won't change your dose for you which causes people to have to go to a different doctor. He just wants to make money off of you. That's why he prescribed me medication I already told him that I've tried and he's telling me to come back to help me again he doesn't care about the patients he only cares about himself and money. I have never in my life been more than dissatisfied with a practice and care. I came to this dermatology office in hopes with getting the help I needed and it was everything but that. The respect for patients is non existent. Multiple times I made an appointment for 2:30 and was not taken back until 3:15. They schedule multiple people at the same time for appointments. How is it possible for a doctor to see multiple patients at the same time? It's not. Dr. Kittay has fought verbally with his staff In front of me as well multiple times. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Lastly, I've been on accutane for 3 months and asked for my dose to me increased because I know my body and he refused. I just got entirely fed up. I saw a new dermatologist today telling me that my medication should have been increased months ago by the appearance of my skin. Worst part of all of this is that my skin looks worst than ever. While others tell you what you want to hear, Dr. Kittay is all business and no fuss. Great doctor if you are not looking for sweet talk and directions back to the receptionist to find a date to have you back in for follow up appointments. Keep up the good work Dr. Kittay. read more
