To my surprise, Emma the office coordinator called me back right away. She spent so much time talking to me, calming me down telling me what to expect and just being a reassuring voice that everything I was going through was completely normal. I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant return phone call. On the following Monday Emma called just to make sure I did well over the weekend. Emma was so kind and made my experience with Dermatologist Associates a great one. I would highly recommend this office, Dr. Eickhorst who did an amazing Cool Peel and of course Emma.

In a medical environment, that's unacceptable and borderline dangerous. The staff was rude, dismissive, and clearly uninterested in patient care. I witnessed front desk personnel rolling their eyes at patient questions, ignoring phone calls, and openly complaining about their jobs. Even worse, the owners themselves seemed just as indifferent and combative when concerns were raised--more concerned with defending bad behavior than fixing it. This isn't just a bad experience -- it's a warning sign. A medical office that treats its patients and facility this poorly shouldn't be operating. There are far better, safer options nearby.

Today, we stopped by the office and saw that the waiting list was literally written on the back of a flyer, with names scribbled out and completely disorganized. I was shocked. When I asked to speak with the manager, Sue initially said the manager was on lunch break, but once she realized we were willing to wait, she suddenly went to get her. Unfortunately, the manager was not very helpful either. Dr. Vu was kind, caring, and professional, but aside from that, I am highly dissatisfied with this office. Even before looking at the affected area, he wanted to do a whole body check - to be thorough. He had a hunch of what the issue was, took a swab and came back 15 minutes later. I was a bit shocked and impressed when he said he looked at the sample under the microscope and had diagnosed me and was able to point to the evidence all while I waited! It turns out I have psoriasis and have had it for over 10 years. Previous doctors completely missed this and some even misdiagnosed me. I was delighted when he gave me information to read, sample medication and helpful tips on how to cope with the symptoms. The message then becomes, "I've had to do this so many times and I can't be bothered to do it again for you." And you can tell that's his MO because the sheets are copies or copies of copies and are barely even legible anymore. The most offensive one was a pamphlet on the issues of "aging skin" and I'm not even 40 yet! The worst part is, the treatments he does provide don't work. I've been prescribed several different creams - treating different skin conditions - because he doesn't know how to diagnose patients. Some treatments made my skin worse. Then he says the treatment is working well when I can see it's getting WORSE. I look at my face several times a day in the mirror - he sees it once a month for a few minutes and I'm expected to believe he knows what I looked like the last time? I've seen a dozen or more dermatologists over my lifetime, and he is hands down the worst.

We experienced the same behavior during my wife's previous visit, which made today's interaction especially frustrating and disappointing. Given that history, it was hard not to conclude that the behavior was intentional rather than incidental. To make matters worse, the assistant did not return to complete my wife's care. That lack of follow-through only reinforced our concern that patient treatment and professionalism are not being taken seriously. Because this issue has now occurred more than once, we have decided not to return to your practice. I wanted you to be fully aware that this decision is based entirely on repeated, unacceptable interactions with this staff member.
