I was pleasantly surprised with this place. The service was great. I felt like I was being served by my friend and not a stranger. It's a cute place with an old fashioned atmosphere, like stepping back in time. I'd still call it a hole in the wall but those are the best!!!!!! The pie was THE BEST part of this lunch!

Sandwich was great, really held up even though it was cornbread. The soup was hearty and delicious. A welcome respite from greasy food on the road.

The best Key Lime pie I've ever had.

Cute place within walking distance of my hotel. Like most of the town, it's an older building that is dated, but clean and quaint. I arrived at 11:28 with one couple ahead of me and the door opened promptly at 11:30 where we were sat immediately as at least 20 other folks began crossing the streets to come in. With 75% of the businesses here being closed the first part of the week, this is obviously the "go-to" spot for a lot of the locals. Kitt herself waited on me and I was sat and had my food in about 5 minutes. I had the cheeseburger on jalapeño with a small side of frito chili pie. Both were good and the perfect size meal for lunch. But when I saw that they had key lime pie, I had to try it. Most places will just add lime juice to a cream cheese base which is always disappointing for me. This, however, was the custard-like texture with actual KEY lime in it that I'm always hoping for. Right on the edge of too tart but not, balanced with the sweet, and a hand formed crust. This is the BEST key lime pie I've personally ever had.

I love supporting hole in the wall, local, mom and pop shops. As soon I arrived, I learned that this restaurant had a twist on their sandwiches - all the bread was cornbread. I didn't even know that could be a thing! I decided to go all in and try it. Why not, right? I was pleasantly surprised at the food. Not great, but not bad for a sandwich either. My only other complaint was the portion size. I would have ordered two sandwiches to get full. -1 star for the food not being great. The dessert was okay. Would have been much better if it was truly chilled. I came in on a Saturday afternoon, and they were not too busy by time we ordered our food. After we put in the order, the staff only came back to our table once or twice. No refills, and I had to get their attention to get the check. -1 star for the lack of service. I wouldn't go out of my way for this restaurant, but would try again if the BBQ next door doesn't meet my fancy.

Menu 10-12-24 dessert!

This is my fourth trip to Caddo lake and I still haven't eaten at Kitt's Kornbread. Well, this weekend just happened to be the EAST TEXAS BURN RUN, a biker rally benefiting children burn victims. Folks, there was an easy 2 to 3 thousand bikes there. It was amazing. So many people coming together to benefit the children. Anyway, by the time we looked at bikes, visited the vendors, and talked to who knows how many people, it was time to eat. The line at Kitt's was out the door and down the sidewalk! But we waited, and waited. We're finally inside and at a table. Their selection of combo meals is excellent. All sandwiches are on Kornbread instead of bread. Different, but good! We did the Sicilian with broccoli salad, the Club with frito pie, a turkey wrap, and chicken and dumplings. Everything was delicious, definitely 4/5. There probably 20 different pies, but we're too full! Next time. Go to Kitt's!

We've been here twice in our four days in Jefferson. Excellent lunch and the pies/cobblers are amazing.

We ate here prior to going to our boat tour on Caddo lake. The restaurant is in the heart of…read moreJefferson City. There is free street parking and on a Sunday it was not hard to find. The restaurant is very simple. There is nothing fancy about the ambience at all. It's just downhome country. You order at the register and then grab a table. We got there just before the after church Sunday rush so we were able to find a table easily. Shortly after we got our food, the line was out the door. The food came very quickly. They call your name and bring the food to the table. I had a two meat platter with turkey and brisket. The turkey was tender and just slightly smoky. The brisket was excellent. I forgot to ask for lean like I usually do but the brisket was not overly fatty. The meat was very smoky, very tender, and very flavorful. The portion was generous for $18. I would guess half a pound of each meat (?) The sauce on the table is a bit sweet and tangy. The BBQ beans were excellent. The potato salad was good but needed salt. We all enjoyed our meal. Even the kid, who is super picky, ate a bunch of brisket. It was a good choice and I definitely would eat here again if we came to Jefferson City.

This place looks fun from the outside and a bit dicey on the inside, but the line told me I was in the right place. It was almost back to the door when I walked in, but it moved quickly. Seating is pretty limited, especially for a party of one or two as most tables have 5-6 places. Everybody was so friendly. I think I could've asked to sit down if I wanted to, but I went ahead and got my order to go. The menu seems pretty reasonable with baskets and platters between $10 and $18. A lot of reviews seem to talk about the Swamp Fries, so I had to get a small order of those. I also got the sliced Brisket sandwich with a side of onion rings. The brisket barbecue is served dry but has a good smoke right on it and good flavor by itself, but they give you plenty of barbecue sauce to add to it. That's exactly what I did along with some pickles to make my sandwich taste just right . The Swamp Fries are wonderful with fresh FF, smothered in chopped brisket, shredded cheese, and sliced jalapeños. There's no way I could've eaten a large so I'm glad even though it was just two dollars more I decided to opt for the smaller portion and still had leftovers to take home. Overall, really good food definitely worth a stop in.
