The king cakes are delicious here! However, I was invited to a party, where everyone wanted a "specialty cake" and I also purchased a cinnamon/ cream cheese cake. I paid $66.00 for both, $3.00 more for the "strawberry and cream" After arriving at the party we were surprised to cut into the strawberry cake to find that it was just a cinnamon king cake. I called Lilahs and left a message since nobody answered. We all ended up eating it. Two cinnamons is better than nothing. The next day I went back in, since I couldn't get anyone on the phone. They said "we will be happy to replace it, give us the cake back"! I told them that we ate it and that it was their mistake and I paid an additional $3.00 for the "specialty cake". All they did was give me 10% off another king cake- less than $3.00. I didn't want a full refund or another for free but, 10% off! I will now find another place to get my king cakes. They definitely aren't worth the $90.00 I paid for in one weekend. It had the strawberry and cream box checked, but on the gold "plate" was written cinnamon. read more

The cashier today was exceptionally rude. We have purchased seven cakes this Marci grad season. She was dismissive and flat rude as I tried to redeem a small reward. We were there today about 3pm and the staff were amazing. They were good enough to hold a tiramasu King's cake for a friend to pick up as they only had 2 left. BUYER BEWARE! We heard that Lilah's had a very good King Cake. We live about 1.5 hrs away so we called to order one before we made the drive. When we arrived, the cashier could not locate our order. She said that wouldn't be a problem since they had others on the shelves. We selected a cinnamon/pecan and confirmed it with the cashier. On the way home we decided to sample a bite of the cake. It was a bavarian cream, not cinnamon/pecan. We returned to the bakery and they confirmed it was not what we had requested. Another employee removed all the boxes labeled cinnamon/pecan from the shelf because they were mislabeled. She said they didn't have any more cinnamon/pecan cakes. We said they should have at least one since that is what we ordered and didn't pick it up. Both employees searched again and couldn't find any record of our order. We were offered a refund and said we would rather have a cake. They offered to bake one for us if we could wait a few hours. Due to the long drive home, we could not wait. We drove 3 hours round trip, they lost our order, cakes on their shelves were mislabeled causing another long trip to the bakery. I posted this on their Facebook page hoping to get a response. It was immediately deleted. No response from the bakery. read more

Whatever you do, don't order a king cake for shipping from here. It came a week late and is really gross and when I called they basically just said to file a claim with FedEx and see what happens. $60 down the drain. Customer service is non existent. Lilahs has been a true pleasure in my family's life. We moved to Shreveport about 2 years ago from the New Orleans area where king cake and Mardi Gras are everything. I tried several king cakes from other bakeries in the Shreveport bossier area but nothing matched the wonderful flavors of the amazing bakeries in the south that we were used to. That was until we found our way to lilahs. These king cakes are spectacular. They are absolutely delicious and just as good as the ones we were used to back home. We are So over joyed to have found this gem here in northern Louisiana. I highly recommend lilahs to anyone.
