It was one of those "gladly go there once-a-month places" with a good combination of what I like: good food, good service, nice ambiance that reflects MY community. The last two times I was there it had turned into a loud "Fox-on-all-TVs," all-white (in a town that's African American?) hole. Maybe after Trump Fever has broken (in four years?) I'll try it again. And the pretzels are now pretty bad, too, and to ruin pretzels takes effort. read more

Great neighborhood bar. Shay the manager is great and all the bartenders are nice and friendly. Starting coming to watch the NFL on Direct TV about 4 years ago and have a reserved table every Sunday since. Have had a few family parties and the food and drink package was outstanding. They also have specials every day. Taco Tuesday is a favorite and always draws a nice crowd. New Year's Eve and Super Bowl Sunday is also a great night to be there. Really great Football specials. $5 apps and happy hour drinks ($4 domestic, $3.50 bottle and $3 well drinks) Great amtosphere with a lot of big screens to watch games. We ordered boneless wings, nacho fries and buffalo chicken dumplings. The wings were big, the nacho fries were great but I don't recommend the dumplings. I love Kitty's and come here all the time. It's definitely an awesome Irish pub and sports bar. Plenty of TVs and seating either at a table or ar the large bar. Shay the manager is a great guy and if you come in a few times he'll usually remember you by name. Steve is my favorite bartender, hands down. It feels like you're out with your friends, they're that genuine and welcoming. Great service! I recommend the burgers and sandwiches. My favorite is probably the short rib grill cheese on texas toast. The wraps are also good. They also make some good wings. I asked once for them to make them atomic and they were seriously atomic. This is by far my favorite bar ! Hands down in all of New York! Stephen is the best bartender so ask for him if you go. The food is absolute amazing. I have never thought to order a steak anywhere except a steak house. But the flat iron steak medium rare is an orgasm in your mouth. Cooked exactly the way you want it and the juices just fill up your mouth. Also I must say I order mozzarella sticks at every restaurant I have ever been. It's my guilty pleasure. Kittys has hands down the best cheese sticks I've ever tasted. My family and I go here just for them. Also the baked clams are gorgeous ! And the mad munchies sandwich is quite delicious . This is a great neighborhood bar with very good food and an excellent selection of beers on tap! The bartenders are all friendly and efficient, and the manager is usually around to greet you and make sure the place is running smoothly. They have a good bar menu, and everything I've had has been very good. The wings are nice sized and served crispy and delicious. The hot sauce could be hotter, but it's good and tasty. The Irish nachos, corned beef egg rolls and jalapeño poppers are all quite good! The crowd here is nice, with a variety of ages from 20's to 50's. This review is based primarily on my visit of Tuesday, June 17, 2014 - during Happy Hour. Since the demise of D.J. Houdek's due to Hurricane Sandy damage, I've been patiently waiting for someone to pick up the gauntlet and return some class to the Baldwin pub scene. Not to knock my neighborhood (or point out my carpetbagger status), but Lisa's Lounge, Boston Garden and Oasis Cafe leave something to be desired in the "classy Irish Pub" department. To my relief, this new establishment - Kitty O'Hara's - appears to be a step in the right direction. For those familiar with D.J. Houdeks, you will feel somewhat vertigo-stricken as the arrangement of the floor-plan has changed. A beautiful oak bar runs down the left wall with four 50" flat screen televisions hanging over the well stocked liquor cabinets. The taps - serving all sorts of brews from Coney Island Brewery's "Tunnel of Love" Watermelon Wheat to Smuttynose's "Old Brown Dog" Ale - will keep your taste buds busy for many visits. For the more conventional, there is Harp, Guinness and the oft-overlooked yet never disappointing Brooklyn Lager. I nearly fell into a Hops induced coma due to the myriad choices. The dining booths are upholstered with the luxurious soft brown leather and ample space for even a guy my size. There are several pub tables as you approach the restrooms and a beautiful little outdoor sitting area in the rear, which opens to the shared parking lot. I spent a decent amount of time schmoozing with the bartender, Laura. She was a treat to talk with as she genuinely seemed to enjoy bar tending and saw her job as making me comfortable and interested in returning. It was refreshing to deal with someone who didn't have an agenda, like so many Rockville Centre or Nautical Mile 20-something, big-boobed, flirty, yet god-awful bartenders do. Happy Hour lasts until 8 PM, though the lunch menu prices seem to end at 4 PM. The food (I only had an order of Irish Nachos) is very basic pub fare. Nothing to write home about, but priced reasonably. I wouldn't necessarily come for a meal, but I would definitely order if I were here watching a game. All said, Kitty O'Hara's seems to have a world of potential. Considering the owner is an old hand at running bars (also owns Biddy Mulligans and Stingers) I foresee a bright future. read more

AMAZING Corn beef and cabbage. First time at this pub. The food and service were fantastic as well as the ambiance and Irish music. What a wonderful way to spend St. Patrick's day. My coworker and I go to lunch here every Wednesday. They give a free order of their boneless wings with Bleu cheese, celery & carrots with every order. The lunch menu is very reasonable with sandwiches, wraps & salads ranging in price from $6.95 - $7.95 Also they gave Happy Hour every day until 8PM with $3 beers and drinks. Great pub! The food is really good. The game specials and happy hour are great value. We are regulars and enjoy a good local bar. We love Shea and Steve! So welcoming and friendly. The service is great and we really enjoy our time there. Live music all the time and the outdoor patio is well put together. Great crowd unlike some other bars in the area. My boyfriend and I came in to have some drinks tonight for the first time at this bar. We both had pumpkin beer which was really good but the wings we ordered? Sucked. Appeared to be from a box and served in what looked to be wilted cabbage shreds and a small container of sour cream. I ordered cheeseburger medium rare. Tell me how a burger could be rare and dry! It also had no flavor! I doused it with A-1 sauce to get some flavor! The fries looked like they had been fried 3 times! Loaded with grease. The only thing that was decent was the pumpkin martini, and even that could have been better! Like served in a chilled glass or even the martini chilled! The service was so so! This was my first visit to Kitty O'Hara. It was a Saturday at 11:30am. I had just finished running the Mike Caesar Autism 5K and came here for the afterparty after walking two miles to get there. I took a seat at the bar and wanted to order the Eggstra Hot!! dish but I was informed that food was going to be provided for the runners by the bar and by the race organizer. I enjoyed my ziti, chicken, shepherd's pie and large vegetables while listening to 80's music, before it was drowned out my fellow noisy runners and watching golf and college football shows on televisions.
