I stopped in at Dox Friday July 3 for dinner and music. I must inform you it was completely disappointing. The four of us ordered the Grilled Salmon, Fried Calamari (Kung Pao), shrimp grilled quesadilla and a grilled shrimp dish and a seafood fried plate that included (fried clams/fried oysters/fried fish with French fries) ,and for desert the carrot cake. I cannot give a good rating for any of the items that came to our table. the Salmon was under cooked , the fried Calamari seemed as though there was a shortage , the fried combination plate was severely to the point the fish was a breaded hockey puck and the grilled shrimp lacked flavor. The service was adequate ,but if you are going to spend north of 250 dollars ,please spend it some place else. This is truly a chicken finger and fries place . Incompetent staff, very poorly run. We went to the bar to have drinks before we were sat and the bartender served one of us then walked away. Once finally seated we waited nearly thirty minutes for service while two tables who came in after us were taken care of. The hostess was clueless and offered zero apologies. This place has a really lively, energetic vibe. I went to see the DJ and dance all night. The food is your standard bar fare. They serve generous portions, but taste-wise it's nothing special. But do come to enjoy the music and dance. read more

The food was decent. Not a fancy menu, more like bar / pub food. The service was pretty good. Our waitress did hustle around servicing all the tables she was assigned. The atmosphere was fun and casual. We dined outside and basically sat on a picnic bench. If we chose to dine inside, the music was a bit too loud and we wouldn't have been able to have any dinner conversation. The oysters were fresh and good But the shrimp tacos and the fajitas which are really hard to mess up well THEY DID !!!! Those were the worst fajitas combo I even had in my life and I have had a lot since it's my Go to when wanting meeting . It had zero flavor, meat looked grilled but smelled as if it got warmed up on a microwave and had that heated smell as well . This was my second time here, I came for the DJ and entertainment. While I was sitting at one of the outdoor tables a palm tree fell and hit me , the staff came running to see if I was ok and I was in shock that it happened because I didn't see it as it was falling because I was facing the opposite direction. The staff constantly asked if I was ok which was nice but I feel they should've atleast offered me a round of drinks for the trouble . This review is for their boat slip service. I kept my motorized canoe here for over a year for a very reasonable price and was beyond thrilled with the experience. Seriously this place is a hidden gem. There are lounge chairs, picnic tables, sand, a bar, it's dog friendly, it's beautiful, the service is very good. Need I go on? I came around 5pm on a Friday and it wasn't busy yet. They had live music at 7pm so by then it was filling up. Hubs and I had the soup sampler, fried calamari, grilled cheese, fish and chip, and wings with Thai chili sauce. Like I said, food is mediocre at best but the wings were great. Skip the soup, skip the calamari. Will definitely be back. This is one of those places you go to and you feel like you're on vacation. read more

Really cute spot right on the water. You can sit inside by the bar or grab a seat outside if the weather is nice. I've only ever come here for drinks, but I'd love to try the food next time. They have a lot of great drinks, but the chocolate martini is my favorite. They also have a couple games set up outside, like a big connect 4. This is one of my favorite spots to come to in the summer. read more

Go to DOX!!!!! I love this place. It's truly a hidden gem in Island Park! It's absolutely beautiful and right on the water. They have a sand area with picnic tables, high tops, and Adirondack chairs, and some games like giant connect 4 and cornhole. They also have an area where you're served with tables. Last but not least, they also have indoor seating and an indoor bar! You can come here in the morning to sit and read and get a Wave Culture coffee from the coffee truck on their grounds, during the day for lunch, happy hour, at night for a sunset dinner, or stay later for a DJ or movie night. It's such a cool spot with a great atmosphere, and beautiful views. On top of everything, they're food is great as well and definitely satisfies my lobster roll cravings. I'm a bit of a pretzel lover and always order a bavarian pretzel for an appetizer wherever I can. This is honestly one of the best pretzels I've ever had! The staff, service, drinks/food, atmosphere, vibes, and views are all truly 10/10! read more

Went to Doxs in Island Patk this weekend, had shrimp taco bowl. Embarrassed for the portion they gave, and what they charged! There was nothing in it but rice and 4 shrimp, Had Frozen margaritas with absolutely no alcohol in it. Service was ok, but the view beautiful! Would never eat there again. read more

This restaurant is at a beautiful location. I attended a yelp elite event and really enjoyed myself. The bartenders are not stingy with the liquor. The Dox on the Rox drink was really good. The atmosphere gives u a beach on vacation feel. I liked their crab cakes and lemon chicken the best. The mussels were also good. Nice restaurant to take a date. It also has a grown and sexy vibe. Came on Thursday night with my friend and little did we know they had a Thursday night pasta special with live music! I can't remember the price exactly but it was probably around $25-30 for a drink, salad, and choice of pasta! The waitress and chef were so nice and they were speaking with us about the pasta and helping us with our questions. They even made my friend's pasta to her spice liking which was so kind. We had a late lunch today. A party of 7. The wait time on the orders was terrible. One waitress for I don't know how many tables. She did her best. I had a fried chicken BLT. The chicken was so dry from being overcooked. Three of us agreed on the overdone food. Even waiting to pay the check was a long time. This place was not even crowded with eaters. No excuse. The Dox is fun and summery. It's the perfect place to go for a date or with a small group of friends. The drinks are simple and made well. The staff is friendly and attentive which adds to the experience. Very interesting place, part nightclub, part outdoor bar, part dining and a setup for parties. That beign said depends on what part you are going for. Gets a little crazy but if you are going for the nightclub angle then by all means you should go, dining not so much ( food was just OK ) I would also recommend you use the bathroom before you get here or have a strong bladder as there are only three unisex bathrooms for well over 200 people when busy. More people need to hear about DOX! I don't understand why this place is so "hidden" when it comes to the internet. No Facebook page, no Instagram, no website. No hours listed? I sort of want it to stay a secret because it's that good, however, I also want to see it succeed and gain some publicity. Tucked away in Island Park is a bar located right on the water. Bar area is large with plenty of seating. Picnic tables overlook the water and the boats anchored there. Adirondack chairs situated on a man-made beach. The place is welcoming and friendly and bright. On a beautiful 75 degree day with a slight breeze, it was the perfect place to spend an afternoon. Not only do they have a bunch of beers to offer, they also have top shelf liquor and food! The food menu is basic but we had we enjoyed (the fried calamari and crab cakes). There's a converted food truck off to the side but the wait staff brings the food right to you, no matter where you're seated. Drink prices are fair but I'd stick to beer since I saw the bartenders being a bit cheap when it came to mixed drinks. Also every bartender takes care of the entire bar - we had 4 bartenders by the time all was said and done. You can tell they're still working out a few kinks and since they only opened at the end of June, this is understandable. One bartender barely knew how to make any drinks, the tables closest to the water flipped over in the wind, the bathroom has 2 locks where only 1 works and no mirror (it's a bare bones bathroom) and there's only 1 of them as far as I could tell. Otherwise, this place has true potential. For what we got (beer and food) everything was great! I just hope they get themselves out there more. read more

Visited this new hot spot to celebrate a 21st birthday. Right on the water with a beautiful view. They had a food truck with a small menu, everything I ordered was delicious. The bar had a wide selection of drinks and the staff was very friendly. They have one regular single person bathroom and a trailer with bathrooms that are surprisingly nice. read more

I really wanted to like this place but it was just not good. Come for a beer and a view but otherwise stay home. Our drinks were disgusting premix margaritas. I could have made a fresh lime juice, triple sec and tequila at home that was 10x better than this for significantly less $. The food was also presented nicely but was almost inedible. The fish and chips was so salty and fishy. It was obviously frozen cheap fish. The crab cakes were tiny and filled with imitation crab! Are you kidding me?! The price of this stuff was approx $20 a piece bc they also decide to only list their menu in "cash" prices. Everything you pay on credit card will be 3% more than the menu price. How is this a thing in 2021? The only good thing about this spot is that the wait staff is incredibly nice and attentive and the French fries. Not enough for me to return to unless they decide to stop cheaping out on their customers. I actually feel robbed after going here. The quality was really that bad. read more

Popular place...I can see how it can be noisy on weekends, food was very good, prices reasonable, portions spot on. Food delivery system, excellent!!, Waitress , needs work, kept forgetting drinks, also gave food receipt for credit cards when paying cash. Delivery staff works harder then waitress',infact that's how we got our water. Menus and table cloth sticky, that needs attention, chairs are sturdy and comfortable vs that plastic crap that many waterfront places use, that's a major plus! in my book . Would really like to see more traditional seafood dishes on the menu though. read more
