Kitty O'Hara's - Sports Bars Near Me - Baldwin, New York

Went there last night for dinner with my wife and 4 children. There was something for everyone. Food was all good, very nice beer selection, service was very friendly. I had the fish and chips. Fresh cod, dipped to order was very good. Complaint? I had to ask for the malt vinegar and it was a no-frills brand. Heinz or another name brand is a must, don't skimp on the malt vinegar! Wings were good. The buffalo sauce could use some work, but worth a second try. Seems like a great place to go a few times a year, maybe even worth a try for football Sunday or MNF. This place is excellent. Had occasion to stop in yesterday and had their Corned Beef and Cabbage. It was top notch. The atmosphere is friendly, the restrooms are spotless, the beer is cold, and it was a great spot to unwind and have a bite and a drink. We were taken care of by Shay who took the time to chat a bit even though it was obvious he was extremely busy. I would highly recommend it and will definitely be back. read more

went in on a monday night pretty decent crowd the rangers game was on so it sas kinda loud to say the least but the place is big typical average bar nice booths okay bar food nothing special but good for a late night snack. the location is on merrick road in baldwin in the middle of nowhere so the fact they opened it there might attract some customers locally. It is the highlight of baldwin everything nearby is kinda of dinky and bleek the stores nearby were burnt down a while ago on merrick road so they are back to being up and running. i got the chicken quesdillas and stuffed mushrooms it was well cooked and hot but nothing super special. the best about is is the bar itself for a nearby hangout if you live locally i say come on down if you want to get out of the house for a little read more

Best Irish Pub,on Long Island. Friendly and unpretentious with excellent food..Lots of beer chices, even Guinness Gold and Hofbrau. As a previous reviewer said, the flat iron steak is worthy of a top steakhouse. You couldnt get a better corned beef sandwich on the Lower East Side.The manager, Seumas, is hands on to keep everyone happy, and Lynn is the best barmaid in NY. read more

Great little Irish wannabe pub with a real solid beer lineup. They have about 15 beers on tap along with some great bottles/cans. Food is great, prices are right. You get served fast and the servers are attentive. Right down the street from the the Rvc bars it's a great clean place to go to when you don't want that crowd. read more

I am visiting here and wanted to grab a beer. Nobody working here knew anything about beer. The bartender was on the phone the whole time, even when serving me. This is definitely the worst bar I have ever been to - beer and service. The employees didn't seem to know much about what's going on here either. Where's management? Owners? Been going here for the last four years for their New Years Eve special. The special includes a buffet dinner and all you can drink, top-shelf too, for $45. You can even reserve a table if you call ahead. The food itself is okay. Not terrible but definitely not the best I ever had. The drinks are excellent. Their bartenders are great. They have a nice sitting area besides the bar area, including an outside area. Crowds are a good kind of crowd, and there's plenty of tv's. My friends and I went to Kitty's for their New Year's Eve party. It was $45 for a 5 hour open bar, buffet food, champagne at midnight, party hats/favors and a DJ. We had SUCH A GREAT TIME!! The food was great, the bartender was super quick to get us drinks, and it truly drew in a great crowd. The general manager, Shay, is fantastic with customer service and making sure all guests were happy and well taken care of. I am proud to have Kitty's in my hometown, and would recommend it to anyone looking for good food, good drinks, and a good time! read more

I don't know which was worse, the service or the food. I came in with my daughter and after waiting 30 minutes for burgers, the waiter came over and said he lost our order and he re-took our order. We had to wait another 30 minutes until the food came. Both the burgers and the fries were a nasty greasy mess. This place may be OK for a few drinks, but I'll never eat here again. read more

We just had my sons baptism reception at Kitty O'Hara's on Sunday afternoon. We are very pleased with the event they put on. We worked with Shay to set up a buffet for about 50 adults and 12 kids. The food was excellent and the service great. They were accommodating when we notified them the day before of a reduction in the number of people do to a family emergency. The weather was wonderful and they kept the back patio reserved exclusively for our use. It provided a great area for the kids, mostly ago 2-5 to run around and play. Plus it was happy hour prices on the beers, of which they have about 20 on tap. The beer selection is very good, but it would be awesome to see some local brews on tap as well. We have had dinner here a few times, and the food has always been great, and the prices are very fair. I would recommend Kitty O'Hara's for a relaxing lunch or dinner, or a party such as ours. I have heard good things about the bar atmosphere, but cannot comment on that aspect from personal experience. read more

Went there for lunch today, had a gift certificate. Ordered the baked sole special. It was not special...some fish on a plate with microwaved rice. If I were in a nursing home, I would have been very happy with it. Thin, bland and watery. Not even a fleck of parsley. And I got my change back in another gift certificate. Yikes! But the waitress was very nice, even though she gave my salad to the wrong table and then blamed the customer for not saying anything. read more

Stopped in Kitty O'Hara's for the first time ever and have to say, I was so impressed with the service. Loved the space, the set up, and everyone who worked there. My sister and I enjoyed our lunch and the live one man band. Most of all we loved the friendly service. We definitely recommend stopping in for a meal or even just a drink at the bar! Good local place to go for a beer in Baldwin. However, I usually like to try the buffalo wings of any new pub and I was not impressed. I will say this was a while ago so perhaps they have improved but the wings were chewy and the sauce was watery and lacked flavor. Wings were not at all crispy. This was especially disappointing because the wings were one of the best things to order at DJ Houdeck's which was there before. read more

Kitty O'Hara's is a great place for lunch. Food is good and very reasonable prices for food and drink. Seems to be getting a very nice lunch crowd. Shay, the manager is very personable and Lynn, the bartender, who works Tues., Thurs., and Sat. is one of the of the best behind the bar. Always has a nice word for all.
