Solid high-end Mexican restaurant that's perfect for a date night. Food is very good, you really can't go wrong with any of the options (fajitas are a favorite, as well as the chicken mole enchiladas). If you save room for dessert, you HAVE to try the banana pudding. Drinks are tasty and the cocktail menu is pretty extensive, but the pours are on the smaller side. As far as service goes, everyone here was wonderful but a little slow... our dinner for 2 took us almost 2 hours... lastly, remember it IS a high end Mexican restaurant, both in quality and price. Came here for a late lunch on my birthday. My waitress Mey was nice and was making some really good drinks (thanks). Staff were also friendly and provided good service. Wasn't too busy when I was there as well. I'd say it's good place for families to attend as few families were dinning in. Ambiance was inviting and lovely. We went during brunch so didn't need reservations but made one anyway as we were a party of 5 just in case. There's a small parking lot but is shared by the other businesses and usually filled. Parking was a struggle even on a Sunday where you dont pay the meters. Service was courteous and quick; he was friendly and helpful and easily reachable. Note- they take foodie card but only for parties of 3 or less. They do also have a rewards system when you input your phone number during check out. They provide free refills on soft drinks. We reserved a Brunch party service for over 20 people here and it went very smoothly. The food was good and served in good time. The servers were attentive as well. My only complaint is that all the drinks were made poorly-- literal sugar water that hurt my stomach. We had pitchers of White Sangria, Red Sangria, Passionfruit and Bellinis. Legit my favorite fish taco. I've been coming here for years and literally getting the same thing every time haha. They have great Tuesday specials; whether you get a quesadilla or a taco; it's typically bussin and the prices are good. This time in particular my Taco was a 4/5. They gave me A LOT more fish than usual but its flavor lacked a little bit and I needed a touch more sauce but overall still pretty good. Visiting Rockville Center, I remembered that Mesita was near, so me and my plus one decided to stop in. We made reservation because it's a must and found parking on the corner by the restaurant. We stepped in to find a fall festive theme. Autumn decor set the tone here with much of what you would expect from October. I find some consistency in service, the staff performed as a cohesive unit, not neglecting the customer. That's a plus! Also as our waitress was May C. She was very attentive, keeping a watchful eye on us at all times. I'm thinking that observation is a prerequisite skill at Mesita. I'm kind of hesitant on this review because we came for brunch. Not realizing that they served brunch. Also the kitchen was closing, which I feel has a cause and effect on the quality of food and this review. With that being said, I ordered a breakfast burrito. I should have stuck with my desire to have an enchilada. I was discouraged because I've never had a breakfast enchilada. So the breakfast burrito was huge and filling but it was served lower than room temperature which effected my mood. My plus one had steak and eggs. She says that it was nothing to write home about. They don't have steak sauce nor do they have black pepper. We did enjoy the Mimosa and everyone received a complimentary Leches shot. Mesita in RVC just set the bar way higher for what great service and great food should be. Hands down the best service I've had in a long time. On top of that, their Restaurant Week deal was unbelievable -- you get 1 appetizer, 1 main course, and 1 dessert for such a low price. I genuinely hope they bring this special back because it was such an amazing value. The food was beyond delicious from start to finish. Every dish was full of flavor and super fresh. My girlfriend and I have been coming here for a while, but after today's experience, Mesita officially became my new favorite restaurant. Walls lined with skulls and Mexican artist paintings, looking almost like a small Pueblo, this restaurant gives you the vibes you're looking for on a Margarita Monday, or even a Taco Tuesday! The prices are a bit higher, $18 for a classic margarita, and $20 for guacamole, but the food is tasty! The maduros (sweet plantains) come out covered in a sweet cinnamon sugar, and the shrimp ceviche was light and refreshing. The fajitas come out on these giant planchas with all the fixings, would've like more than 3 small tortillas, but there were plenty of toppings. They have vegetarian options, including burritos, tacos and fajitas. Our server was so nice, but a little hard to find most of the time when we needed some napkins or our check. I went to Mesita for the lunch special at the suggestion of one of my Tuesday lunceon friends. My companions raved about the Chicken Tortilla Soup. I, however, ordered a salad which turned out to be a typical side sald and not one of the morei interesting salads listed on the regular menu. My companions enjoyed their chicken burrits. Went to Mesita last weekend for dinner. The place is huge, with a dark, dimly lit atmosphere and loud music--definitely not ideal for having a conversation, so be prepared for more vibes than talk. That said, the bathrooms were clean and the service was decent. Now, the food? Absolutely spectacular. The steak fajitas and Monterey chicken were phenomenal--flavorful, perfectly cooked, and very satisfying. We ended the night with the banana locos for dessert, and it did not disappoint. So good! My only complaint (and it's a big one for me) is the cocktails. I love a good drink when I go out, and unfortunately, Mesita missed the mark. My margarita was overloaded with sweet & sour mix and barely had any alcohol. For $20, it tasted more like a sugar bomb than a proper cocktail. Definitely not worth the price. The ambiance was super cute when first walking in. We had made a reservation and I'm glad we did because it filled up fairly quickly! My friend had a drink at the bar while waiting and enjoyed her beverage. All the alcoholic beverages looked fantastic. I came here with my friend for Cinco de Mayo. It was PACKED. They had a DJ which was nice. Upon arrival we got chips and salsa on the house. We placed our order with Carlos. We got the mild guac with chips, queso with chips, street corn and the choose your own 3 tacos. We picked 2 Barria Tacos, and 1 steak taco. The chips and queso had home made chips that were fried, however the queso tasted like velveta or the cheese you get at the movies. The guac on the other hand was delicious!! First of all the place is beautiful inside. The decor and lighting really set the mood. The music is lively but not intrusive. The wait staff is attentive and friendly. We sat and talked for long after our bill was payed and never felt rushed out. Granted it was a Tuesday night and not very busy. For my meal , I ordered the chicken enchiladas and a mango margarita. The drink was delicious-definitely the highlight. My food was ok. The chicken was a bit dry and lacked flavor. I figured I'd get a side of sour cream to improve it. Came by with my fiance & his coworkers for brunch, and this was a really a great choice for a sit-down brunch & yap session. Mesita is HUGE - the interior is super spacious and has plenty of seating. For a party of 10, we were seated without any difficulty. For the table, we ordered the tableside guac, which I actually really enjoyed. Definitely would want to try the spicier version if I came back with my fiance. Salsa here is tasty too. I ordered the Mexican chicken & waffles which were good, but did get to be a bit sweet and overwhelming towards the end. The chicken to waffle ratio unfortunately was a bit off - there was too little chicken for the amount of waffle there. With the waffles being on the sweeter end, it definitely needed a savory or acidic component to balance out all the sweetness. As expected for brunch, we ordered two pitchers of sangrias (1 red and 1 rose/peach). I really liked the rose/peach sangria - it was well balanced without being too sweet. They definitely know how to keep the drinks flowing here - even before we ran low on the sangria, our waiter was back to check if we needed a second pitcher of each. I ordered guacamole. It cost $20.00. The lady makes it and walks away. She does not leave chips to go with it. I asked for the chips and she says "no" because I already have chips on the table. Mesita is a top contender for our favorite restaurant! The menu has so many choices. We came here to celebrate a birthday and we didn't even realize it was Taco Tuesday. They offer great deals on tacos, mini quesadillas, and add ons (like rice, pico de gallo, or beans). The best part is, that you can still order from the regular menu. For an app we ordered honey Chipotle wings- you will not believe how delicious these are!! We also ordered shrimp tacos, pork tacos, steak tacos, and a cheese quesadilla- from the taco Tuesday specials. The tacos all tasted great and had a perfect meat to tortilla ratio. First of all the place is so beautiful the aesthetics the lighting the decor so warm and inviting. Our waitress I forget her name was wonderful. We ordered the guacamole and the chips to start. The guacamole was so delicious and they have different temperature ratings so you can get mild medium or hot. I ordered the chicken and piñata's with the rice. It was so delicious. I have been to Mesita in Port Washington, so I wanted to try the Rockville Centre location. Great staff seated right away. The restaurant has a nice bar and a big dining area. We tried the margarita flight, which was perfect since we couldn't decide on one flavor. The strawberry one was my favorite! Starting with the positive: We went on a Friday night at 7pm with no reservation, and the manager was very accommodating and seated us immediately even though it was very crowded. Our waitress was attentive, professional, and courteous, and we didn't have to look for her, she checked in on us multiple times even though it was a very busy night. Water glasses were refilled constantly by either a bus boy or the waitress herself. The manager came by and checked in on us while we were there. The service and hospitality are very good. My nephew had the Steak Arracheras which he said was cooked to perfection and delicious. I had a Margarita which was prepared very well, no complaints. The decor and lighting are also interesting and pleasant. The not so positive: I had the Barbacoa tacos, shredded beef, which were not very good. The cilantro, cheese, and onions were barely evident and were at the bottom of the tortilla, leaving the shredded beef to become dry and not very tasteful. The ingredients - as pictures on the menu suggest - should be placed on top of the shredded meat for both taste and presentation. In short, they were terrible I only ate half of them. The music was also unbelievably loud for a restaurant experience, with a DJ playing club music. I am not young, but not an old man, and just couldn't hear my nephew speak and he said the same.
