The beach sedimentation has built us so much along the entire shoreline and they don't want anyone swimming here at a Waterfront park. What kind of waterfront park says NO to everything. The benches on the property are all facing weeds so can't see beyond to see all of the water. The park is small, but serene. Most of the space follows Lyon Creek under overhanging foliage, with a bench and boardwalk to enjoy. Where the creek meets the lake, there is a small dock and bench to frequent. Have not seen any salmon running up the creek as of yet, but that would make my day. Overall, it is small but extraordinarily peaceful and well restored. Good vibes only.

In…read moresummer you will simply cook in the sun and the sparse parking lot tree species all look half alive. And the native landscaping is very weedy. I'm not sure why nobody put any thought into providing shade. It seems somebody landscaped it back in 2021 and forgot about anything but cutting the grass. I'm sure they send the folks in with gas powered blowers twice a week but god forbid they actually pluck a weed or water a tree. The grass is great if you're a goose or duck, and it's great for you to poop on, of course. It's a fine place to go swim or launch a boat but staying on shore...well you'd be better off visiting Greenlake.

We loved watching the ducks and enjoying how peaceful the park is. The one star loss is that if you look a little closer you'll notice that the chairs are bolted down and could use a new coat of paint. The park is generally clean, but it appears that they've been doing some weed work on the garden and haven't yet cleaned out the dead plant material. I expected a bit more of Sakuma Viewpoint since wasn't really a viewpoint - it's just a water overlook and you have the same view almost everywhere in the park, but beyond that, we really enjoyed how relaxing the space was. So all in all, if you're in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to drop by.

We picked up coffee and made our way to the pond to see the "wildlife" (beavers), and we're met with the usual ducks, heron. Some pathways have creative art installations, which are fun to find and view as you continue your way around. Many small trail-ways weave through the park that is mostly set on and around the pond. Views in the autumn are beautiful as leaves change color and reflect in the water below.

At those times we we didn't make it much farther than the bridge just past the entrance/exit on 35th Avenue NE. More recently on 23 June 2020 my mom and I revisited the pond to explore past the bridge. We were both pleasantly surprised how big the pond is and appreciated the trails/bridges across and around the pond. Bridges/walking platforms extend across the pond enabling you to get closer to the wildlife living in and visiting the pond. From little fish to adult ducks to ducklings to Herons and red-winged blackbirds, there was much to watch and look for around the water when we visited. Ducklings were with their mama foraging for food around the edge of the pond. In another stretch of the pond ducks were sun bathing and resting. Around the outside of the pond are trails through the vegetation surrounding the pond. The paths we walked were paved and the trees provided shade away from the sunshine which was starting to bake our skin so felt nice. Be on the look out for various rodents including squirrels and bunnies as well as birds including Robins on these walks. Placards strategically placed throughout the park provide basic information about the ecology of the pond and some of the interconnected human-wildlife-land history. I especially liked the maps provided of the pond and reflective refuge in an informational pavilion. Fun to have maps in more than one medium! An enjoyable place to come for a stroll over the water and through the trees where one can savor the wildlife of Seattle.

There are paved paths and clear routes to trails and the beach. We ended up walking them down to the river, which had a lovely sandy beach, which was such a surprise! There were benches and tables down there, which I am sure are very coveted in the summer season. For a nice fall day, this was the perfect spot! I would love to come back here with some takeout and enjoy a lovely meal on the river. Very dog friendly, great views, and awesome amenities (water fountain, showers, trails, easy signage, bathroom). What more could you want!

There is a bit of a field where you can enjoy a picnic, but runs along a busy road, with little break in car traffic & noise. The paved path along the outside of the field goes into a neighborhood of houses, and doesn't seem to loop around thr lake itself.

I will visit them next time. I like their sunflowers. The view of the Lake is very nice and quiet. But if you keep walking, you'll start hearing cars on 156th. You can easily go a bit further to another neighbor park which is pretty lovely or walk your way back to the 148th where there is a small lake. These two are like a breath in the middle of the city.

Carillon Woods was a bit of an odd park in that half of it is developed (a play area, climbing…read morerock, and a paved walkway) and half of it is undeveloped (straight nature and narrow paths). Midday on a very sunny afternoon, Carillon was totally deserted, which we found strange when we happened upon the play area. The park overall did not seem well designed or bright and as we passed the structures they gave off a bit of a gloomy air. Unfortunately, unlike our experiences in Seattle, we found the parks in Bellevue to consistently lack seating and be poorly maintained. Carillon Woods was hands down the nicest park and easily offered the most amenities, so we appreciated that even though it could have used an editors eye to draw more people in, it did bring something to the neighborhood and the community it was in (unlike Watershed). Overall, if you're in the area and looking for a child friendly hiking park I'd recommend either Carillon Woods or Moorpark, and to avoid Bridle Trails.

There isn't significant green space to…read moresit, hang out, etc. There is a mini parking lot and is the east end of the Snohomish River Front Trail. Other than a great photo op spot of the of the old train bridge, there isn't much else. I looked at the map and walked around a bit and only saw a private road. So..., don't plan on coming here to sit and chill. It could be muddy and/or weeds are covering the area. There isn't even a bench to enjoy the peaceful and quiet river.

It…read morehas a gravel, circle-turnaround (for most people... who went the wrong way, continuing down Maple), and a small, dirt/gravel parking lot that fits maybe 5-10 vehicles -- including one handicapped-accessible spot that is paved. It has a view of the old railroad crossing over the Snohomish River that is well photographed, and it's located at the end of the river walkway that goes from Andy's Fish House to this location. It has a grassy area, a picnic bench, and some trash cans... but that's about it as far as "park ammenities" go. It's a cool little spot, though.

Wallace Falls definitely deserves enough time to complete all the way through, 3 hours minimum!! Do…read morenot underestimate the time you think you'll take, especially if you love stopping for photos lol. Right from the start of the hike, I appreciated that there were signs showing the latest time you should be back by (8:40 pm closing time), along with phone numbers to call if you ever needed help. I also liked how about every half mile to mile, there were mile markers or detailed maps showing where you were and what else to expect depending on how far you planned to go. And honestly... there were just SO MANY beautiful nature sights with every step. The river flowing alongside most of the trail, the moss-covered trees, the little wildflowers and mushrooms popping up here and there! Everything was just so pretty!! It felt like we couldn't walk more than a few steps without stopping to take photos because we were in constant awe haha. Although we weren't able to make it all the way up to the Upper Falls due to the sun setting, getting to see both the Lower and Middle Falls was still such a gorgeous and accomplishing experience. I especially loved how from the Lower Falls, you can also see the Middle Falls in the distance! And the Middle Falls itself, absolutely awe-striking!! Overall, such a memorable and beautiful hike! I'll definitely have to come back and complete it all the way to the top next time lol

Very great dog friendly hike. My dog is a big fluff ball and loved wading in the river towards the…read morelast part of the trail. Well maintained. Even though the parking lot was full, there were moments where there was no one else close to us on the trailhead. Personally the middle falls had the best view though a bit obstructed for photos. I completed the upper falls back in 2016 and remembered not being as impressed so I opted out and stopped at the middle falls. My dog was also likely to resist as he was pretty tired by the middle falls. Needs discover pass. The entrance has a small water fountain but definitely bring water. There are no trash areas along the way so make a plan if you have a dog.
