By the way, their land actually stretches much further to the north than what you actually see on Route 146. Check out the trails on the Pinchot Preserve to see some really interesting and cool terrain. Medlyn sells mostly sell eggs, tomatoes, firewood, and a few other farm produce items. Their eggs are produced from their very own chickens and cost approximately $3 for a dozen. Their roadside food stand is usually open during the summer months and closed during the winter months.

The owners are both very friendly, and their farm stand in Manorville (where my pick-up location is) is easy to get to and convenient. Highlights this summer have been red and golden beets, many varieties of greens, zucchini, kohlrabi, beans, onions, herbs, the list could go on and on. Each week they send an email with what the harvest is and also helpful tips and recipes. I am so glad I chose to be a part of this, and plan to continue to be a part of their CSA for a long time!

One of the most unique parts of being a member of Quail HIll Farm, is that members harvest their shares each week together. Twice a week throughout growing season over 200 member families descend on the fields with maps and lists of what is available, to harvest their carrots, lettuce, herbs, and fruits. The community connection this gathering creates, and the connection members enjoy to the food and the land are the priceless bonuses added on to your ample basket of utterly outstanding produce. Grown beyond-organically, and sustainably. Picked by your hands. Magic. The farm is an over 20 year old project of farm director, Scott Chaskey, and the Peconic Land Trust, an organization whose mission is to preserve Long Island's agricultural and open space. The farm also supports a thriving apprenticeship program. Members, through their participation, are supporting the next generation of sustainable farmers. You can read my review of Bubba's Brunch food truck in my review section because the food was delicious. Hindinger Farm sells fresh vegetables, fruits, jams, and other items for children, and it has a beautiful backdrop. One side of the farm overlooks the other side of the farm and the other side of the farmi overlooks this beautiful backdrop of nature on the farm. Hindubger Farms puts on live shows, and you can go shopping. There is also a playground for the kids to play. The playground is fenced in with a picnic area so parents can enjoy their food without worrying about their children's safety. You can always check their website for events, shopping, and find out which food truck will be at the farm that day. The customer service was great, and I will definitely be back.

This farmstand has the best produce in Connecticut, in my opinion…read more In fall of 2024, my husband and I made it a habit to visit a different farmstand every weekend to support our local farmers. Of all the sites we visited, this was the stand out. The fruits and vegetables are incredible... literally picture-perfect and bursting with flavor. In addition, the stand has lots of homemade products like mango salsa, horseradish mustard, and the like. These specialty items are delicious! Oh, and don't forget to pick up some of their homemade preserves. My husband and I practically overdosed on peach preserves! There is a beautiful outdoor area where kids can play, which also makes the stand a nice destination for families. Last but not least, the staff that works here is so friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them.
