What an incredible experience at Little Fish, I brought my mother for a Mother's Day brunch and our meals were fantastic. First, the ambience was great! A beautifully designed restaurant, just steps from the beach. Next, we started off with the Gochujang sweet and spicy wings that had the perfect crunch and flavor, definitely recommend giving these a try! For a main I had the burger, and that was perfectly cooked and very tasty. We ended with the Challah French Toast - don't skip out on this!! It was the perfect amount of sweet to end our meal with and my mother and I absolutely LOVED it. On top of the meal, the staff and owners were very accommodating and were continuously checking in to see if we needed anything. I can't say enough great things about this restaurant, and I already can't wait to go back. Loved this restaurant! It came up as one of the places to go when in the North Fork area and its definitely a great addition to any list. I would recommend to anyone and most certainly to dog owners, as the area in general is not as dog friendly as NYC is. So let's go to my usual three areas of reviews: Food (4/5): Everything looks incredible, but the items that I would want to go back to try as I didn't have chance are the Little Fish Corn Breads and Hot Honey Spare Ribs. They looked out of this world! Now for what I did try - 1) local catch striped bass - wonderful! Went next day again to have the same dish. The chimichurri sauce it's served with is just absolutely amazing; so much flavor without overpowering the fish and a great addition to the rice that comes as a side. It also comes with green and yellow zucchini that truly round out the dish for a healthy, yet flavorful meal. 2) Piri Piri Half Chicken - also very flavorful; the only thing to be cognizant about is that it does take about half hour to get this dish as they roast it as it's ordered. Only reason it's not 5 stars it's because it's a more casual restaurant, but everything I had was finger-licking good. Ambiance (4/5): Great laid back restaurant, with island feel. It has indoor and outdoors table and they accept dogs to sit outside. There are 2 picnic tables and all other are high tops. They also have a few low chairs that would be great for apps and drinks. Overall, it's a cozy, inviting setting. Service (5/5): Incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. It's a place to go when you're on vacation because it will just make a relaxing experience even better. It's also very timely and they are always checking on the tables so definitely taking good care of customers. In addition to all the above, the restaurant has the plus that it's a block away from the beach. If you time it right, you can have dinner and immediately after walk 1 minute and be on the beach to watch the sunset. read more

I really like this restaurant. I thought about finding all kinds of funny ways to say that I want it all to myself and that nobody should come here, but seriously this is a really nice restaurant. Entrées are reasonably priced and nicely sized. Sometimes they have entertainment in the dining room which feels appropriate to the setting, the service is very nice and the food is fantastic. I recommend the charred caesar salad. It was delicious and definitely shareable for two. The fish tacos were also fantastic. And there's a nice mix of seafood and non-seafood dishes on the menu. I haven't even gotten to the setting. Little Fish is very close to the Long Island Sound, near Kenny's beach, so there are some nice views at some tables. I note that we were there last for dinner in early May, so no outside seating yet. That will be an added feature. I would also consider stopping in here for a cocktail at the bar. Our party of five ordered drinks, but mine was 90% ice so I returned it, The server returned w a new margarita which now was 90% alcohol (not good). We had so many great meals during our visit in North Fork, but Little Fish was one of my few favorites. It's a funky, shabby-chic seafood shack that serves up coastal cuisine with a dash of international flavors. We started with the "Mermaid Makeout Oysters" in herb oil served with charred pineapple relish, cracked pink peppercorn, and classic mignonette; "Beach Day Ceviche," the baked-to-order "Little Fish Cornbread" served with honey Butter, and the grilled Local catch with chimichurri and seasonal vegetables. I love the uniqueness of Little's Fish's food and ambiance. The decor has a laid-back tropical vibe and the menu is seafood-forward with some Asian inspiration thrown in here and there. There is nothing else like it in the area. The food portions are on the small side relative to the pricing, but the quality is admittedly quite high, especially for the seafood. I have never had something here that I felt was less-than-fresh, but it may not be the best choice if you're absolutely famished. I keep coming back to the "red dragon noodles" (local clams, soba noodles, Calabrian chili, coconut broth, cilantro, sesame- $26). It's a filing and delicious dish with a generous amount of clam pieces, and satisfies my craving for southeast Asian flavors (which is great when the nearest Thai restaurant is like an hour away). The cocktails are also great. I've enjoyed sitting both indoors and outdoors. The dining room/bar area is lively- with live music some nights- and the outdoor seating is peaceful and allows you to catch a sliver of sunset. The service is sometimes a little forgetful outside- servers occasionally say they will bring water or salt or something and forget to come back- but very friendly. Little Fish has a very eclectic/Caribbean feel. The food is as good as most of the review advertise and the staff was friendly. I went with my Mother on 4th of July for a mid afternoon lunch, my only critique is for a day that wasn't that busy I expected the food to come out a little quicker than almost 40 minutes. saw this spot pop up on Instagram and was looking for a dinner place on the Fourth of July and thank gosh we booked a reservation here for dinner! There was live music playing inside and the space was so vibrant with the decor and the atmosphere was very fun and welcoming. We ended up sitting outside and keep in mind this spot is less than a block away from the beach so we are hopeful that we might be able to see fireworks (and we did!!). The staff is super friendly and recommended a few different dishes for my mom and I to try and share. The flavors are very seafood, focused, but go together in ways that I never expected - everything was so delicious and I really can't wait to come back and try new things. There's a difference between great service and friendly service. The service here is very friendly, including a drop by from the owner. Food is the star. Mezze platter rocked! Amazing flavors and perfectly toasted pita. The monfish Tikka masala is genius. I was very skeptical but so glad I ordered it. The curry is excellent and the monkfish holds up incredibly well. We had a great time here. The service was well-paced, super friendly, and efficient. The vibe is what I'd call "surfer cozy." My boyfriend and I sat outside at one of the high-top tables, which were really nice. I could even forgive the fact that we were basically in the parking lot because we could smell the salt air of the ocean which was just steps away. Ok now for the food: The overall menu looked great. We went at 1pm for lunch, so the menu was a split between all day menu items and lunch items. The all day options looked great. I was eyeing the ceviche, and the crab green goddess, but ultimately chose the Mahi Mahi tacos on the lunch menu. My boyfriend usually gets a lobster roll but didn't like the fact that their lobster roll is served in a croissant because he hates croissants (I don't know what's wrong with him. That dish looked perfect when I saw the next table's come out.). So he ended up ordering the burger. - Mahi Mahi tacos: hard shell tacos with coleslaw, grilled mahi mahi, and topped with mango salsa. Served with a side salad of arugula and pickled onion. 4/5 - These were good. Personally, I'd have liked these in a soft tortilla. With the wet coleslaw on the bottom of the hard shell, it was a tiny bit difficult to eat. The mango salsa was excellent but kept falling off. I didn't care for the side salad. I would have preferred shishito peppers or chips or something on the side. I would have also liked some sort of aioli served with it. But really these were small things based on my preferences and it was pretty good. Also, I have Celiac disease and they were great about accommodating me and ensuring they informed me of everything containing gluten. - The Burger: A burger with aged cheddar, tomato jam, pickled onions, Calabrian aioli, and french fries. Served with pickles and pineapple on the side. 3.75/5 - My boyfriend says, "It was cooked perfectly and it tasted good. There was just a lot of stuff on it. The bun was alright. There was too much sauce." He loved the fries and he says, "they were f****** perfect." He's not a big sauce guy and from looking at the burger, there was quite a bit of the tomato jam. Service was good, with the waitstaff being attentive in spite of the fact that they were packed for the weekend. Atmosphere was very active, friendly and boisterous. One drawback was the lack of water views in spite of being so close to the beach but the restaurant itself has a beachy feel. Sourdough bread was a good appetizer with a tasty seasoning for the oil. The prawn bisque flavor was just ok, though way too spicy for my friend who ordered it (it does not mention the heat in the menu and curry is not always that spicy). The swordfish dish was well prepared with the side of greens being a perfect complement. The actual meat on the honey jerk ribs, however completely lacked flavor with the only flavor in the dish coming from the sauce that it came with. The mushroom fried rice was somewhat bland in spite of the kimchi. I did, however, add the seasoned olive oil that came with our appetizer to it and it did improve the flavor. Like teens and maybe people in their 20's. They are working SO hard but it's a little disorganized and some people are waiting too long for food and you can hear them apologizing or diners need to ask where stuff is or ask for things missing from their plates like a rice side dish for example. The other thing is the waiters are also bussing their own tables and I'm a little concerned about how clean the kitchen and the employees hands are. You can kind of see into where they bring dishes and it's also where they fill your water bottles and the outside of the bottles are dirty and you can see why. They are touching clean and dirty dishes simultaneously. They could use some training and a good strong manager but they were all kind to us and work so so hard The bartender needs some training - my drink was just ok and the glass should be bigger and drinks could be colder. $17 for a small drink w hardly any liquor The eggplant was good but the burrata was better Nice to have gf bread option but it was a packaged gf roll warmed and cut into quarters - not baked there The wild rice dish was also vegetarian and lightly flavored even though it smells aromatic you don't taste what you smell - it gets most of its flavor from the super fresh veg and micro greens topping it. Wow! What a great experience! Such a breath of fresh air! Having traveled to the North Fork for years, we struggled with finding a decent restaurant to have a dinner that's open on Mondays. Little Fish is our choice from now on! Innovative cuisine, super fresh ingredients, very friendly service. We had: Roasted Lemon Caesar, Ceviche, Fish Milanese, Monkfish Tikka Masala, Fish Tacos. We sat outside and immediately felt like we were transformed to somewhere tropical: Hawaii, Bahamas, take your pick! We ordered a bunch of small plates so we could try everything we thought looked the most amazing on the menu! Key Lime Pie Everything was fantastic and a really interesting mix of cuisines all made with quality ingredients. I'd be interested in knowing where some of the ingredients came from; if Little Fish is collaborating with local farms or fisheries I think that would be neat information to add to the menu. If they aren't, I would definitely encourage them to consider partnering with the plethora of North Fork farmers and fishers! My only complaint would be the live music--too loud and not in tune! We sat outside because we didn't want to get bombarded with sound, only for them to blast the live music through the outdoor speakers (thankfully they turned it down when we requested). While we appreciate the efforts and training that go into music-making, the singer was very noticeably and uncomfortably out-of-tune as she sang while playing the guitar. Live music only enhances the ambiance if it sounds good and doesn't overpower the atmosphere. While this is a laid-back atmosphere, it doesn't strike me as one that demands loud music at all due to the smallish size of the establishment. Live music could be a treat a couple nights a week; it's not necessary for it to happen every night if the quality isn't going to be up-to-par. It is, however, a neat little venue for emerging musicians! Including food, beverages, tax, and tip, our bill for a party of 2 was over $200. Worth every penny! She made us feel so welcome, had the best recommendations, and really elevated the whole experience. Seating options include a bar area as well as normal dining room. The servers were all very friendly. And the food was excellent. The menu is slightly eclectic, featuring traditional dishes with a twist. The steak was delicious, cooked perfectly with great flavor and a nice quality of meat. The spicy tuna tacitos were so good - freshly made with a nice crunch on the outside and delicious filling on the inside. The food is absolutely delicious but very expensive. I had the catch of the day (sea bass, advertised as 2 lbs before deboning, de-heading, etc for $60 but in reality was a normal portion). My husband had the swordfish, which was huge and breaded but delicious. We were hankering for some bread, but sourdough for $14 just seemed crazy as that's 2x the price of a whole loaf at Whole Foods. The ambience was great.
