    Lobster roll 10/10
    Emily R.

Best lobster roll on the north fork. 10/10. This place never disappoints. Shrimp, fish, fries. Have never had a bad experience!

Pretty good! Delicious, fresh and warm buttered lobster roll with bountiful lobster and a toasted bun. Loved the delicious side salad that came with it, which is super substantial, with big, juicy beefsteak tomatoes sliced atop. The three-star was the clam chowder, which was all cream and super thick. Not much clam. Would come back for the lobster roll and salad though.

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch on a Saturday in the North Fork. I found Southold Fish Market and it looked great. We got here around 1 and when we ordered we were told food would be a 1 hour wait. We figured they were exaggerating but no, it really did take an hour. I must say we were all pretty hungry and it was worth the wait. I ordered the Soft-shell Crab basket (2 crabs, coleslaw, and fries) and my lunch dates ordered a lobster roll with fries and the fish tacos. We all loved our food. It is a fun place to watch people coming and going and buying fish at the counter. Super busy on a Saturday in August. This is your quintessential New England Seafood shack type place with a fish counter and small market. We loved it and we'll be back!

We arrived here directly from LGA where we rented a car. We had gotten up at 4 am to make our flight and by the time we got to Southold Fish Market we were on vacation and hungry! We started with two dozen little neck- 1 dozen steamed and 1 dozen raw. They were beyond delicious. Then I had the mahi fish taco and my husband had the ahi tuna over greens. Both were really good. The taco (salad on the side) came with a coleslaw that was wonderful. If we lived here we would be regulars!

Southhold Fish Market : Amazing Place, the host lead us through the line provided us with a menu, arranged for a seat indoors with our service dog! Wow what an amazing experience, she was very friendly elder lady. Thank you for your kindness, great service and amazing prices, far better than Sag Harbors Over priced Le Bilboquet, a 1 Star dump of a restaurant. Defiantly stay on the North Shore and make this amazing dog friendly South hold Fish Market a stop off on your way to Green Port! ~ Cowboy

Seafood wrap (shrimp, lobster) about $28

Fantastic! This place is awesome. Menu is great, lots of options. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Outdoor seating is a major plus. Like a few places in the area they have grilled oysters. Until today I have not tried them. Couldn't decide which to get, fresh or grilled so figured just do both. Best decision ever! Fact that they have local oysters at a reasonable price is awesome. Prior to this stopped at a spot just 7min away and they were charging $28 for half dozen grilled. Here price tag was about $16. That's a big difference. Flavors were on point. The shucking of the raw oysters was perfect. Not even a scrap of shell and the meats detached but the juices still in the shell. Grilled oysters no shell but meats still attached but whatever just delicious. Sat outside with the dog in a breezy day but weather was perfect. When placing the order they warned it's about a 25min wait. Wait was close to that but absolutely worth it. Honestly who needs the Hampton and those fancy places when you have something like this!

This is a very nice fish market where you can purchase fresh fish or prepared meals . On the day I came it was very busy and we had to wait for a table as there is limited seating inside . There are several picnic tables outside which is great when the weather is nice . Everyone was polite and welcoming. Everything we ordered for lunch was so delicious and fresh . We shared the Sesame Seared Tuna Tacos and the Bay Scallop basket both with a choice of fries or salad . We got the salad and replaced fries with onion rings . The tacos were so good and tasty with the seaweed , shredded cabbage and a delicious sesame ginger sauce . The Bay Scallops were sweet and tender and not at all oily , as were the delicious crispy onion rings. This is definitely a great place to stop in for a delicious meal !

Corn fritters and warm lobster rolls one with salad as the side, one with fries
    Vivian E.

Freshly battered corn fritters. Large lobster portions, meaty lobster rolls. Not your table service type of place since it's both a market and restaurant, you get a buzzer for when your food is ready for pick up. Cute place with indoor and outdoor dining like you're enjoying a lobster roll in Maine. You can grab fresh seafood for dinner while having lunch there earlier in the day. Will definitely be back to try other items from the menu and seafood to grill.

I loved my visit to the Southold Fish Market today! It was a beautiful day so we grabbed a quick bite and sat outside. I got mozzarella sticks and fries and was awed at all the fresh fish they had for sale inside! The woman at the counter was so sweet and I can tell why this spot is so popular among the locals. Wish this spot was closer, I'd come way more often!

    Fish & Chips

Get fish and chips - you won't be disappointed. Fish is fresh, batter is thick, a perfect blend of chewy and crunchy, and comes out piping hot. Comes with delicious tartar sauce not pictured too. Just don't eat too fast or you'll burn your mouth like me! Place is clearly a local favorite - was packed and half of it is a seafood market. Kinda weird to have that near prepared food but it didn't bother us. Super casual, pay at the counter. We also ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell, nothing wrong but forgettable.

Fish and chips, fried oyster po boy
    kristin c.

A restaurant and fish market in the same building. Was ok though, place was clean. Menu was behind the counter where we ordered and then was given a buzzer. Very casual. The lady who took our order was very friendly. She mentioned the hour-wait for food (bec so many people that Saturday) and the food did come in an hour. Bisque and raw oysters came out faster though. Raw oysters are $20/dozen - fresh. Some local options up to $34/dozen. Seafood bisque was a bit thick for me, reminded me more of a pasta sauce. Fish and chips $16 were very lightly tempura-battered which I liked (another option for $1 more is breaded fish). Fries were a little soggy. Warm lobster roll with fries was delicious but we've had similar or better at other places. Fried oyster po boy had a lot of oysters but oyster taste is not for me. Each order came with coleslaw. Ample parking and outdoor seating, under umbrellas. Some tables inside. A small thing but the ice in a small cooler was very much appreciated since we went at lunchtime and weather was warm.

Good Food, just not the best I have had, and I have eaten seafood extensively up and down the East Coast. Food: Our adventure off-season spared us the agony of long queues, which was a relief. The Warm Lobster Roll was brimming with succulent lobster, albeit a tad steeply priced at $33. The coleslaw was a pleasant surprise with its delightful hint of pineapple. However, the fresh-cut French Fries missed the mark - if you're going fresh, make 'em crispy! And yes it is possible with the right potatoes and process. The Local Clam Basket delivered on freshness, though some clams were a bit gummy from the breading, and yes, those fries again! The Onion Rings were tasty, but $12 for a side? Pricing puzzled me a bit, despite understanding the rising costs. Service: Efficient, yes. Memorable? Not particularly. Counter service kept things moving, but there were no standout moments--positive or negative. Vibe: Picture a laid-back coastal spot, clean and comfy but lacking that extra oomph. It's not exactly a destination in itself, but it serves its purpose without any major hiccups. So there you have it--a culinary escapade with highs, lows, and everything in between. If I were invited to go, I wouldn't turn it down, just not sure I would make a special trip.

My burnt friend eating some fish n chips

The food was priced fairly, there was a good amount of seating, the food was FRESH, but my only complaint was that they gave less clams that I expected on the po sandwich.

Bought our dinner from here for the second time in two days (can you tell we're fans?) Yesterday, we ordered two 2 lb lobsters and 2lbs of Cod. For no extra charge you can get the lobster steamed and partially broken down (made easy for you to crack open and get down to business ty v much) Naturally, we opted for the pre-steamed/broken downfare and passed on the live option. I absolutely love lobster but I don't think I could ever cook (kill) one, myself tbh. This weekend, we were going to go into town for oysters and wine but upon yelping the prices (average price of $3/oyster aka yeah right. No thanks, buddy. When you can get great $1 oysters at many reputable NYC restaurants you find this to be lowkey insulting) we decided we should buy our own bottles and check out Alice's oyster offerings. Jot this down: most liquor stores in Greenport/Southold/Mattituck carry a variety of bottles from various north fork vineyards so wine not stock up. Of course, Alice's did not disappoint! They sell a dozen oysters for $12.50. So basically I could buy three dozen oysters (roughly) for the price of one dozen in town. If you give them an hours notice they'll even shuck them for you free of charge. Hosting an event? Alice's offer a raw bar party option where they'll set up a raw bar table and prepare the oysters/clams etc. in front of you at your event. So to sum up this super long review, Alice's is wonderful, attentive and of the highest quality. Go check them out on your visit to the North Fork
