Klaws Paws and Hooves is awesome! I have a 10 month old wire hair pointer mix who has a ton of energy. He loves going to Kamp and gets incredibly excited when he gets picked up. Katheryn is amazing patiently working with him until he follows a command even when he gets overexcited at pick up time. So not only does he get great exercise playing at Kamp he gets the structure and consistency that helps with training over time. My schedule from week to week varies so I really appreciate the flexibility of Kamp. Each Sunday I get an email asking which days I would like to send the little guy to Kamp, I pick the days I need help and that's it. Easy. read more

The whole staff are friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and will pick up and drop off your dog from home with or without you needing to be home. The team is good with puppies all the way up to senior dogs of all shapes and sizes. Having my dogs be part of a larger pack several days per week really helped with their temperament and socialization. KPH has taken great care of our dogs since we moved to the coast in 1996. We couldn't have survived the puppy years without them. Now a senior, our dog developed separation anxiety after COVID and became quite destructive when left home alone. Two days a week of camp has worked wonders! Klaws is amazing. Kathryn took in our first dog and gave him an outlet to express his Big Dog energy while keeping his real-world small dog-ness safe and happy. Katheryn had the strength to watch after Pogi when we went on vacation. She was recommended to us by Natalie (see my review on Sirius Dog Training). Pogi is a big puppy at about 100 lbs. Most pet sitting places don't take big pups. She took us last minute. She took good care of Pogs. She told us that any where she went Pogi would be going with her. Pogi has some leash pulling problems but she assured us that it would be taken care of by the time we got back from the weekend. BF's parents picked Pogs up and he ran to greet them. She yanked the leash back and told him that it was rude to run. I'm not sure if Pogi had a good time or not, but I know he was being well looked after. He did come back more obedient. I'm not sure how her payment system works because she told us one price and charged a little more when the parents when to pick Pogi up. Wasn't too much but Pogi IS a handful. read more

Katherine is wonderful! I left my dog (2 year old lab) with her for 17 days this past summer while out of the country, and Katherine took wonderful care of her. I really recommend Katherine's well-priced, caring, and friendly service. (we negotiated $30/night since I was gone for a long stretch... shorter times I think range from 35-45/night, but I'd recommend talking to her as her prices may have changed). The dogs get a full day of playing in a HUGE, safe, double-fenced area, every single day. They also get interaction with other dogs, and personal care from Katherine, and a warm indoor kennel every night. I had a very happy and exercised dog when I got home, and was really happy to support this great local business. I will be using Klaws Paws and Hooves again next time I go out of town. Katheryn was recommended to us by several folks in Half Moon Bay. She really rolled out the red carpet for our Bichon Frise while we were out of town on vacation. When we had a recent unplanned trip, Katheryn picked our dog and took great care of her, going "above and beyond" the call of duty, staying up with her when she wasn't feeling well and had to go for several walks during the night. Best of all, when Crystal returned home, her doggie social skills were vastly improved. She is much more friendly to other dogs when we go on walks. My wife and I both work full time, and we have an older dog already at home. We picked up a new puppy and took time off work to get her acclimated to the home. However, she was too small to leave at home unattended with the other dog when we had to return to work two weeks later. We also had an unfortunate situation with a neighbor who was very upset by the puppy barking for short periods in the backyard. We really needed a safe place for her to be cared for and due to our schedules, drop offs and pick ups at other places wouldn't work. Katheryn really was able to take care of all of our concerns. She and her staff pick up our pup every morning and bring her back every evening without any issues. They also make the extra effort to give personalized care for various requests we have from time to time. The pick up/ drop off service she offers is genius for us very busy professionals who have limited time to drive our pals around for fun time. Ten days after one of our beloved pugs died, someone threw a 3.5 pound mini-pin/dachshund puppy over our back fence up in the Sacramento area. I've never raised a puppy and it showed. Satine is a big love and very sweet, BUT she didn't know she was a dog and loved to chew things to the tune of lot of money as well as growling at everyone and everything. When we moved to Half Moon Bay recently, we needed boarding and or dog sitting. Plus little Satine needed behavior lessons. I stumbled upon Klaws Paws and Hooves on Yelp. Katheryn came to the house for a meet and greet. She immediately had control of Satine and her bad behavior, all the while our sweet 14 year old pug Lulu slept. We were leaving that day with the dogs for an overnight and the simple commands Katheryn gave worked like a charm that whole weekend to present. We booked the dogs for boarding for Memorial Day weekend. Katheryn said they were great with Satine being very responsive. We have since booked all the way through January 2015! Satine goes to doggie day camp too. Twice a week. Where Shelly, the-dog-trainer- extraordinaire picks her up and drops her off, all while working with her to socialize her with the other dogs. The changes in Satine have been amazing. We are so very pleased to have found Katheryn and Klaws Paws and Hooves. Kaythrn is outstanding. I trust her with my two doggies, who are my children. The other day I lost my Rottie, Ivan, and I was histerical! I came home from work, only to find the back gate open and one dog missing, that was Ivan. I searched the neighborhood, the fields behind my house, everywhere. My neighbor and I drove around everywhere. 445 minutes later I am just a mess. Kathyrn happened to call me to confirm an appointment to care for the dogs the following week, and I screamed into the phone that "Ivan is gone". Within 6 minutes she showed up at my house. I was out in the fields still searching for Ivan. Kathyrn called me back to the house and shook me to calm down. Kathyrn was really worried about me having a break down. Kaythrn then told me that she had found Ivan. OMG! where?? how?? I was again in a mess. Kathyrn went up to the house and looked in the side alley way and there was Ivan snoozing under the tree. Somehow or another Ivan got into this area where is usually gated, and then the wind must have closed the gate while he was in having a sleep. Ivan went nowhere. Kathyrn called Ivan over to her and his stump wagged as if to say, "hi there, what are you doing here, do you wanna play?" Can you tell me of any "kennel" that would do that? Kathyrn's place is not a kennel, it is her home. She is the most caring and responsible person I could ever trust with my "bubba bear" Ivan. While I was in this frenzy looking for Ivan, the SPCA, police, etc, were absolutely no help whatsoever. Kathyrn had already started her protocol with finding a lost dog while she was driving over to my house. She is amazing. And... all of that just out of the kindness of her heart. I can't tell you how many times Kathyrn has done extra's for my dogs. Times when we couldn't get the dogs to her place because we were running late, Kathyrn would be at our door to pick up the dogs. If we flew in at 5pm on Sunday, Kathyrn would be at our house with the dogs. I can't say enough about her services and personally how super she is. Kathyrn knows her stuff and is knowledgeable about the animals. Kathyrn also has a medical background. How great is that!
