I decided to spoil one of my friends with a custom scent blending session for the two of us at Klean Spa's location in the MindfulNest. We scheduled an appointment with Jennifer, 'the scentsual mistress,' and eagerly drove over to Burbank for some creative pampering. First of all, the shop part in the front was so cute! I can definitely see myself going back there for gifts for hard to please friends. Back to Jennifer. She was tremendously attentive. She gave us aprons to wear, lest we splatter ourselves unintentionally, listened to our likes and dislikes, and pulled out jar after jar of singular scents. We sniffed to our hearts' content, picked our favorite scent notes, and then ranked them. From this, she blended a deliciously fresh, mouthwateringly fruity scent, perfectly suited for my friend, and a green, woodsy, earthy scent for me that I can't get enough of. She helped us to come up with a name for our fragrances, and recorded our scent recipes on a master list for future reference. She made us each a bottle of long lasting, roll-on perfume in our scents. Then she helped us blend our scent into a container of the richest, most creamy lotion, and made a package of sample jars of hand cream to share with our friends. I also purchased a bottle of bath syrup to be made in my custom scent, which has the luxurious consistency of honey (a little goes a long way), and leaves my skin feeling dewey soft. My friend selected an equally luxurious scented body scrub to add to her take home goodies. The whole experience was so decadent, and, at about 50$ per person, the price for what we received was a shocking bargain. Working with Jennifer to create our own custom fragrances is one of the most memorable ways to celebrate a friend that I can think of, and I can't recommend this experience highly enough. read more

Googled and found this place. You can have any scent massage oil made! LOVE! there are some really neat (but a bit pricey) jewelry and other nick nacks. The oil was a bit pricey also but definitely worth it. I am giving four stars mainly cause of the price everything else was wonderful. I will definitely be returning! read more

I love essential oils and have spent quite a bit of time trying to find the right company that can not only make a quality product that exceeds its own description, service and dedication to providing wonderful scents. In the past I've ordered from other companies and the poor quality of the oils used; made the scent disappear quickly and also left an after scent that was unpleasant to say the least. I found Kleanspa and placed a small order and to my extreme delight I received my order promptly, with a sample and friendly hand written note of thanks for my purchase. The scent I ordered at the time was Creamy Coconut, Vanilla Orange ; the scents were fabulous and lasted all day with Lots of compliments. My father recently passed away and loved a sweet tobacco pipe, this was a signature scent that I fell in love with dearly. I searched for something to match and to my astonishment here it was at Kleanspa "Sweet Smoke". I placed my order and as soon as I smelled it brought back memories of my father and every time I wear it I get lots of compliments in addition to a sense that my father is close to me. Place smells amazing! They had a lot of products, from roll-on perfume to candles to body lotions that you can choose from at very reasonable prices. I went for the hot schnnocolate shea lotion as a gift for my sister in law. It seriously smells delicious! I got myself my own customized perfume and lotion. They offer tons of scents that you can choose from, listen carefully to your tastes and wishes and mix conscienciously the scents. All you have to do then is to name your own scent! When I was in college the Body shop had a perfume bar where you could make signature blends. This is that experience times 100. I used to wear a signature blend that was very fruity and strong. People said they knew I had just left a room because they could smell me. Well I finally found a place to get a perfume close to what I wore back then, satsuma glow. More than that this place has 100s of perfume chocies. Okay maybe not that many but allot. They have custom blends like Satsuma but they can also blend your own recipe. Once you've created your scent, they keep it on file so you can come back to get it filled again. Very cool! Also, they can make soaps, shampoo, and more for you. I can't tell you enough how AHHH-MAZING these products are! Being a spa junkie, always on the search for the most delicious, most luxe, most smells-so-good-I-cant-stop-sniffing-myself products, KleanSpa has answered my sudsy prayers! I purchased the sugar scrub, 2 body lotions, a 3 month spray of the month subscription (mainly because there are so many mouthwatering scents that I couldn't decide which one would be my fave) and the Coconut Cream Bath Milk. This was, HANDS DOWN, the best purchase of bath products that I have ever made. Oh AND, Jennifer is about the sweetest person I have never met (I ordered online :). I will admit, I am kind of obsessed with this place. Bluntly put: it is AWESOME! If you like unique, smell good fragrances for your lotions/body oils/body scrubs/body butter/etc...this is the ONLY place to go! I stumbled upon it just before the holidays and I've probably been here 5 times since. I have referred and introduced several friends to the joy that is KleanSpa. Not only do I love the scents and the quality of products, but also the fact that it is an independently owned local small business. Supporting small businesses is really important to me. Why smell like everyone else going to Bath & Body Works or another chain store? PLUS: the woman who mixes the scents has a great vibe and is so friendly and helpful. This place is THE PLACE to go. Personally, I like the sweet smelling scents that smell like fresh baked goods. The smell of cakes or cookies makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside and transports me to a calm comfortable place. My favorite scents thus far: it's a toss up between "Roasted Nut & Orange Peel" (which smells like brown sugar and almonds to me) OR "Where Angels Go" (which smells like sweet buttery angel food cake.) Klean Spa scents are simply the best. I have really dry hands and their lotions are the only ones that relieve the dryness. Also love their scrubs and candles so much. I sent my sister who lives in Europe their lavender lotion - now she's hooked and she asks me to send it to her all the time. People keep telling her and me how good we smell and it's all thanks to the awesome lotions. As far as candles go - their scents are so perfect and the candles last longer as well as their diffuser. Now Klean Spa also carries dog shampoo and one of my dogs suffers from dry itchy skin - I have never been able to find a shampoo to completely relieve his symptoms until now - so awesome - thank you Klean Spa! read more

This place is awesome. I called and made an appointment with Jennifer for my mom, boyfriend and myself. Jennifer even brought pastries and juice for us from Porto's bakery down the street! The experience is super fun: you first pick out different notes that you like, for example if you like floral, fruity, etc. I love floral so I smelled a bunch of diff floral scents, such as gardenia, jasmine, rose, lily, etc. Then Jennifer helps you narrow them down a bit. Then you start blending. Jennifer also helps you with mixing it, giving recommendations based off her experience. If you want less or more of a certain scent, then you let her know and Jennifer will help with that. I apparently just wanted mine to be mostly lily-based and it smelled amazing. At one point it smelled nice, but Jennifer said no, we don't stop until it smells PERFECT and amazing and that is exactly what I think of mine. When it is finally complete, then you can name your scent. I named mine Midnight Bloom and I knew it was perfect because it made my beau gaga when he smelled it. Score! You get a bottle of roll-on which is great because the oil is even more concentrated. On the skin, mixed with your body's warmth it just smells even more amazing! I was so pleased with the experience that I also brought my cousin back for her Birthday! Totally recommend and I believe Jennifer also does parties too! read more

I love that their fragrances are not full of the harsh chemicals that perfumes are, and the girls there are always very nice. They have many pre-mixed scents, and most of them smell very good. They come in small roller bottles and are fairly priced considering the quality ingredients. However, I had a friend who purchased a "custom blend", and I loved it so much that I went in to purchase the same scent. Since they would have to look it up in the computer and mix it for me, they wanted almost double the price, which made it unaffordable for such a small roller of scent. I wish this weren't the case. They would have made far more money off of me over the years if they didn't charge so much for the custom blend than they do by charging so much for it in the first place. Needless to say, I didn't purchase it. I could understand the higher price if I wanted a blend customized for me specifically, but all I wanted was for them to mix up something they already had a set recipe for. read more
