However, because of this, the owner of the business Bo insisted that we get the "deep cleaning" instead. Since we have dogs and we likely don't do as good of a job as professionals, we thought about it and agreed. This brought the price to $300-320. The appointment day came and 2 cleaners came. Everything seemed fine, although they seemed to be cleaning rather fast, since they had cleaned 2 of the bedrooms and 2 of the bathrooms in 2 hours and this was supposed to be a "deep cleaning." This is when I got a text from the owner saying it was "much more work than expected" and the total was going to be $450, 4.5 times what we were originally quoted! Bewildered, we tried to press the owner to ask what exactly was "more work than expected," because it's not like our house is a disaster and they had 2 cleaners finish nearly the entire house in 2 hours. They refused to elaborate. I pressed again, asking, "So a simple sweep of dog hair and dog toy stuffing amounts to an extra $150 on top of what is already supposed to be a deep cleaning?" The owner responded with, "This is more than sweeping Sam," and then sent a picture of some dog hair, dog toy stuffing, a glove, and a cable cord tie that had been swept from out from underneath our sectional couch (picture attached). I asked again to elaborate but they only sent more pictures of dog hair or dog toy stuffing on the floor, nothing else, and they never elaborated further. They only ever said we'd "like the results" or the workers were "doing a good job," never answering the question. I continued to complain after the cleaners left, asking about what they possibly could have done to amount to what they wanted to charge, and at this point Bo started to repeatedly ask if I was home in attempt to bully me into paying their exorbitant rate. Exasperated, I pointed to their website saying they have an advertised 15% off cleaning for spring cleaning, and if I could at least apply that. Bo said no, their deep cleaning doesn't qualify for that discount, but they would allow us just this one time, as if they were doing us a service. I ended up paying that amount, which I regret and should have just paid them the original, agreed to max of $320. To this day, I still don't know what they meant by "more work than expected," and I also don't know what they did that amounted to a "deep clean" as opposed to a normal clean. Since then, we've had other companies bring our house to the same level of cleanliness for under $200 (with tip!) in a similar amount of time. But of course there were still the spot stains all over the walls that needed to be cleaned (we have toddlers, so they get dirty quick) . As she was about to leave I told her those needed to be cleaned and she said that's not included in the deep clean service... even though their list under deep clean says spot cleaning. My husband and I were so annoyed we just paid them and had someone else come out and finish the work for us. I reached out to the owner and let her know her list under "deep clean" didn't match up with what her employee said or did. I even sent her a video and several pictures.
