When researching various property management companies, Good Life's approach was the most straightforward and transparent with no long term commitments. After speaking with them multiple times with various questions, I was left with a feeling of assurance that I was in good hands. Being a first time landlord, I have no experience in knowing how to screen tenants, knowing the rules, etc., especially when my background is not in the real estate and rental business. Having a busy work schedule also means that I won't likely be able to attend to the tenant's needs in a timely manner. This is where Good Life fills in the gaps for me. The team at Good Life during the onboarding process has been super helpful and efficient in getting the property ready, whereas it would've taken me ages in trying to do it myself. I was assigned Andrei as my property manager and it's been a great start. He has been open, transparent, professional, and great to work with since the start. I recently had an online shopping shipment mis-delivered to my rental property, to which Andrei was instrumental in helping to coordinate the handoff between the tenant and me. Even though Andrei is my primary contact, I can see that they have great teamwork. On one weekend, I had a question to which I received an out-of-office note from him. But rest assured, another team member stepped in that day during his time off to help with my question. Good Life also has a great online portal for me to see all the documents and tax information. I was very motivated to rent the home, and even noted in my application I'd be willing to pay above the listed price. Well a full day goes by and I heard nothing so I called for a status update. The woman on the phone wasn't sure what the status was and said to call back the next day. So I waited and called the next day and spoke to another rep on the phone who seemed just as clueless. I emphasized that I had applied 48 hours ago and wanted to know what my application status was. He said he'd have someone call me back with an update. That evening no phone call, but a form email saying another tenant was signing a lease and I'd be notified if it falls through. I'm very certain I was the first to apply to this property, but they did not follow protocol of screening applications in the order of receipt. Then the lack of follow up and sounding completely clueless about the status of applications was extremely frustrating. I suppose I dodged a bullet not renting from Good Life. I feel bad for the property owner of the home as they would have gotten more in rent from me, and I was ready to sign the lease immediately. Good Life needs to learn better customer service support.

After that, I went to another broker and got pre-approved almost immediately. I qualified for the home without any problems. All I can say is that they were not very professional. In my opinion, Simon seemed focused only on money. I felt that he was trying to earn commissions from both sides. When I decided not to use his broker, my offer was not accepted, and I was told that another offer had been accepted instead. That was my experience, and it left me feeling that my interests were not the priority.

I rented a unit through Edward Fisher and it was a poor experience, from start to finish. I was in a rush to get my application approved and provided 100% of the required information on day one, but it still took nearly a week for him to process everything. Considering the unit had been listed for 4 months, you'd think there would be more of a sense of urgency. Once I moved in, I asked several times for referrals to various service providers and was told I'd receive copies of documentation, but he never followed through. After 6 months in the unit, for various reasons, I made the decision to move out and find a new tenant to take over my obligation. I quickly found a qualified replacement and offered to have my own real estate agent handle the transition, but Edward insisted on doing it himself, despite being extremely annoyed that he had to take on the work without being paid for it, since I found the replacement tenant myself and opted not to hire him. (Perhaps his previous lack of service had something to do with it...) Well, it should come as no surprise that he was, again, EXTREMELY slow and unresponsive to communication, both from me and the new prospective tenant. When I would text him to inquire about progress, he was very rude and told me to "let him do his job." If he was doing his job, I wouldn't have to text for updates! His rude behavior continued throughout the entire process, and he was even so unprofessional as to CC the property owner on his rude emails. I provided a full review of his awful service to the property owners, but feel that the rest of the community should be aware as well.
