My wife and I moved into TPPM apartment in May 2021 and moved out in May this year. Our 5 years there was beyond our expectation. Any time we had maintenance issue within 24 hours if not half day sooner we would be contacted. Neighbor tenants were not loud and it was mostly quiet all around. Laundry facility always maintained, any issue was promptly resolved. Management was accommodating to out of town family visiting with parking spots that were vacant. Outside grill was cleaned and serviced weekly. Rent was very affordable for a 1 BD/BTH. I highly recommend TPPM. read more

This has been the most pleasant and refreshing tenant experience I've ever had. Jacque down at the La Mesa property has been an absolute gem and the gold standard for a property manager. She has been outstanding and accommodating, she does a phenomenal job of making you feel like family. I've lived at this property for a year and some change and I could not have asked for a better experience. She's a ray of sunshine and I will miss her so so much! 10/10 property manager who will do her best to help you. The property in itself was always very well maintained, any issues were fixed in a timely manner. The best thing I can say is that, nothing here was ever a headache or stressful. After viewing one of their units, I could tell this wasn't a good management company. The unit I viewed was dirty, outdated, and needed some fresh paint. I also see a lot of their properties listed as "as in" condition, which I think is lazy of them to not clean the units up or freshly paint them after a tenant moves out, yet charge top dollar for rent. Beware! In response to the owner: DO NOT show a unit that's not ready for move-in. All repairs, painting etc. should've been done prior to the unit being listed or shown. read more

TPPM has been one of the best properties I have lived at. Since moving in, management was responsive, friendly, and fast! Any time I ever had questions or needed support they were quick to jump in with solutions. The property managers are kind and helpful and for the location the rent was extremely fair. When my year lease was up, they offered to keep me at my same rate or an affordable month to month option. Our units were regularly inspected and they never required additional cost if something needed fixing. Maria was also extremely helpful during move out, giving helpful guidance on how to make it smooth. I can't recommend TPPM enough, they have easily been one of the best experiences I've had with rentals and would rent from them again! read more

Already posted but wanted to expand on it. Jon is amazing and quick at his job. I needed a new refrigerator, one was ordered quickly. However, it was defective. I called Jon and he got me another one quickly. Now my stove doesn't match the refrigerator, I know who cares. Jon does. I set him pics of the old one since it is older than me next thing I know they are calling to do a stove install. TPPM is amazing. Even better no rent increase this year. ORIGINAL POST: My experience with this company has been truly awful. I don't feel comfortable sharing the details at this time. If you are considering working with them, I suggest taking some time to read through their responses to people who have complained about various things over the years on this app as well as others. You'll notice some patterns that should give you some clues. I would also suggest Googling "The Abuse of Ocean Beach Tenants on Saratoga OB Rag" and reading the article that comes up. UPDATE: The owner of Torrey Pines Property Management responded in a manner that demonstrates the patterns I was speaking of perfectly: they never accept responsibility for anything, and they personally attack anyone who attempts to hold them accountable in any way. One has to wonder how many more negative reviews they would have if not for their repeated displays of aggressive and intimidating behavior toward tenants and others who criticize them. The owner's attacks on me are amusing: in the same breath he claims not to know who I am and asserts that I never saw the conditions detailed in the OB Rag article. Then, desperately grasping at straws for some way to discredit me, he admits reading my past reviews and characterizes me as "quite the critic", which is pretty silly considering the majority of my reviews since I joined Yelp 15 years ago years have been positive. Scummiest property management I've ever dealt with. Hot water has been shut off 8 times for several days at time, over the last several months. Every time they give an excuse as to why it can't be fixed. They place the blame on some made up factor, things dont get fixed and 2 weeks later we have no hot water. This has gone on since Oct 23. They do not care about their tennenants. They are lazy scummy greedy crooks. Stay far away from any property ran by this terrible company. read more

I recently rented at Villa Parks in La Mesa for two years, and was extremely happy with my choice. The property manager, Kelly, was awesome. She was always available and attentive to any issues or concerns (rarely had any by the way). She was always very efficient in providing notices in advance, and did the best job making accommodations possible. I am grateful for being able stay here, and hope the next tenant experiences the same! Great location to all of SD, had a parking spot, and the neighborhood was peaceful. read more

By far, one of the best property management companies I've ever dealt with. They have made so many great upgrades on Mission Pacific Apartments and have managed to keep prices fairly 'reasonable.' (Are rents in San Diego ever reasonable?) We used to have PLP Property Management and we might as well have had no management. They really have invested in the tenants well-being and concerns and are constantly adding new touches that took this community from basic to extra. I really can't say enough good things about them. I have lived at the village apartments in La Mesa for going on 5 years and loved every minute of it. Initially I lived in a 2 bedroom with my friend for the first 3 years. Jacque, the property manager truly has a beautiful heart and began feeling like family very quickly. She actually watched me and my boyfriend fall in love and move into a one bedroom at the same complex. It was funny, we were looking for an affordable place to start off in and toured a bunch of places and even considered applying for one or two. My boyfriend and I went to Jacque and she informed us of a beautiful one bedroom with the lowest price we had been seeing. There was no question. I loved this place and home got to stay home longer. This place is great for people of all ages. My boyfriend and I see lots of young families as well as active retirees enjoying every day. We have one older woman that lives a few units up became friends with us when we were out for a walk. Everyone is friendly. The property is beautiful, flowers blooming all year. There is a park nearby that I would often run at any time of day. My boyfriend and I had a few evenings that we would walk to the park, lay on the hill, and watch the sunset. This place is the true jewel of the hill in La Mesa. read more

Update: Executive Team, It's unfortunate you are still considering my lease as the sole obligatory factor in June rent. Since your move out contract, a signed legal document superseding the date of lease signing, dictates the prorating of rent to the day of move out which was before June 1st. This reply suggests this a poor attempt to find a way not to be responsible for the agreement your agent signed. For accuracy, my lease renewal letter, dated April 30th, 2024, with an effective date of July 1 st, 2024, was sent well in advance of the 30-day notice requirement per California law. This effective date means the terms of the lease renewal offer would only go into effect if I decided to remain at the premises beyond lease expiration date of June 30th, 2024. Instead, I made the decision to submit intent to move out, and ask that the date of move out be 30 days later. This was accepted by your agent and I was then instructed, via contractual bounds, to prorate my rent to the date of move out. I did not pay June rent out of consideration for the contractual obligation of my current, in-place lease which refers to this exact move out contract in vague terms and using language like "refer to" or "see" move out contract. That makes the prorating of rent a legal obligation, obligations that we both are subject to. In response to dismissal of my threat to "sue," no different than anyone else in this world who agrees to sign a contractual obligation, you are responsible for its terms. I certainly hope that you make the right decision and follow through with the commitment signed by your agent. You still have time to do so. See you in a court soon if not This review is for Nicole Sarber and the company as a whole if they don't right her wrongs. I have let them know in the meantime and am awaiting response. First she has a terrible attitude and is completely dismissive of tennant issues. Second she is a liar. I had issues when moving in where someone was parking in my assigned spot. Nicole said (and i'm obviously paraphrasing) tough luck, if we get around to it we'll ask them to move but you are not eligible to tow them and if it's after hours I won't answer so park on the street. Since part of my signed contract to lease includes exclusive access to park that already set my intent to not renew the lease but alas I was there so no point in going back and forth with someone who clearly does not care if they are not able to provide the amenities I pay for. This became even more clear when my "washer dryer" turned out to be a washer/water remover. This means it never drys the clothes just spins them to death. After putting in a ticket the maintenance said the washer dryer combo is not meant to dry clothes just remove excess water. Most people hang dry clothes, use other laundry matt's, and some even hang clothes outside on the porch. I also had to hang clothes. I consider that false advertising but again i'm already here what can I do. The final straw though is they say the wanna raise the rent 2+ months before move out. I say thanks but no thanks i'll move out. They say no problem and we pick a day one month and one day before my lease move out date. They say that's fine, no worries. Then they send me move out paperwork (signed by their agent) that explains I am to prorate my rent to the move out date. That means they owe my one day rent but again what can you do so I just prorate to one month and eat the day. Well suddenly Nicole is unhappy, wants June rent, charging me a late fee and refusing to acknowledge the signed move out contract saying to prorate rent. She then says again tough luck i'll take it from your deposit and send another signed document saying what is deducted and why. I saw that's enough of this, I have a video and pictures to prove unit is fine. I have photo proof you haven't listed the unit for rent which your legally obligated to do since you know can't change me and another person rent your purposely not renting just to be difficult to me. I have video proof of me handing keys to an agent and them saying on camera a full return of deposit will be available since the unit is in like condition. Nicole says nope here's a official document signed by me deducting from your deposit see you in court if you want. I say cool i'll see you in court for sure, and plan to name her personally in addition to the company. She sent me additional copy of the signed move out contract with more field filled it but no amendment signature in hopes I would just believe it was my mistake, but it's not it's theirs. Empty fields with signature sent month before turning over keys trumps random copy of that signed paper with additional fields that conflict the information given before moving out. It's unlawful to alter that document and pass this off as my fault they screwed their contractual paper work. read more

Horrible management and rude staff at the Pacific at Mission Bay. They act like the residents are an inconvenience to them. I got my keys RIPPED out of my hands when I asked for a new key fob. When I said thank you, Silvia the assistant manager didn't say a word to me and shut the door. Maintenance requests take over a week to complete. Staff uses "future resident/visitor" spots to park their own cars. The owner seems like he doesn't give a shit either. I do not recommend this company. read more

I would like to share our experience with renting from Ken Nielson, leasing agent at Torrey Pines Property Management last week. My daughter was searching apartments in University Heights and was connected with Ken. Both she and I had the fortunate experience to work with Ken as some of the time my daughter was working. The personal experience we received from Ken was far and above a normal renting process which can be very overwhelming. Ken showed properties that thought might fit her needs. He was very professional, kind and charismatic!!!! He responded to texts and phone calls immediately which is rare to find. He helped get the unit approved and cleaned with final touches at the very end of the Friday work week sending the leasing contract out just prior to 5:00!!!! His walk through was thorough and again on time experience just before 5:00 for the end of the day!!! My daughter loves her new place:) We owe all this happiness to Ken.
