Once at the house the code given us for the lock on the door didn't work. Subsequently 2 additional codes were given us when nothing worked. We finally just left the door unlocked during our stay. Systems - like needing to hold a minimum of $1000 in your account for incidental spending that does not need approval. My request is that all spending needs to be discussed and approved. We are in the digital age. There would never be an instance where i can not be reached. But he's got old school "systems" that no longer holds water and may not be most efficient for modern digital/AI age. Yes WES BaeSSEMER did put in a very reliable trustworthy tenant -- but left it empty for 2 1/2 mos during peak rental season with almost no showing per our continuous camera recording and our door lock that notifies us when the door is unlocked, or a garage door is opened. While I had multiple people knock on my door to inquire about it. I sent these folks his way. He did have other properties he diverts prospects to. He told me this is what he does. That this would be a benefit for us. Though you could see how it also would not be. Incidentally all his listings that sat there previously for months got filled! There were previous reviews that questioned whether the property was actually rented or whether he just chose not to show it.

The house was clean and comfortable. There were plenty of beach and bath towels. The house was in a good location within walking distance of a grocery store and several restaurants (not fast food or chain restaurants). The neighborhood was lively during the day, and surprisingly peaceful each evening. It was also not far from the kids' favorite Mission Beach. There were plenty of paper supplies, cookware, and dishes. We gave the awesome Speed Queen washer a good workout. (I want one!) Though the house was expensive, the cost for the week was relatively reasonably considering its size and location. I would not hesitate to stay there again. I also appreciate Michael at La Jolla Vacation Rentals for working with me and patiently answering all of my questions. If we return to San Diego in the future, I will without question look for a house with La Jolla Vacation Rentals.

When researching various property management companies, Good Life's approach was the most straightforward and transparent with no long term commitments. After speaking with them multiple times with various questions, I was left with a feeling of assurance that I was in good hands. Being a first time landlord, I have no experience in knowing how to screen tenants, knowing the rules, etc., especially when my background is not in the real estate and rental business. Having a busy work schedule also means that I won't likely be able to attend to the tenant's needs in a timely manner. This is where Good Life fills in the gaps for me. The team at Good Life during the onboarding process has been super helpful and efficient in getting the property ready, whereas it would've taken me ages in trying to do it myself. I was assigned Andrei as my property manager and it's been a great start. He has been open, transparent, professional, and great to work with since the start. I recently had an online shopping shipment mis-delivered to my rental property, to which Andrei was instrumental in helping to coordinate the handoff between the tenant and me.
