I'm very disappointed and sadly in the "you get what you pay for" camp. I found this company online and when I called, they quoted me $99 per flue, plus same for dryer vent. Then I looked again online and saw $89 per. They said they'd honor that price. They said the basement fireplace flue was really dirty (really? I haven't used it in maybe 12 years!) They asked if they could unplug something to plug in their shop vac, and I pointed them to an open outlet (don't unplug the Wi-Fi booster). They didn't bother to ask downstairs- they just unplugged my Wi-Fi and phone! Then I was dumbfounded by how quickly they cleaned both flues, (just a simple brush and shop vac?! I could do that!) I originally hired Kleen Green to clean my dryer vents. After sending Kleen Green (also dba "America Air Duct Cleaning") photos of my laundry room and my stacked units, they provided me a quote. But when Kleen Green arrived, they doubled their quote. (It felt like the classic bait and switch and zip-code-based pricing.) Worse, they ended up charging me close to $900 to clean out two dryer vents. Several months later, I saw tons of lint coming from behind the machine. When I called Kleen Green, they said their work was no longer under warranty. They said I needed to call within weeks of their cleaning (before the accumulation of new lint became noticeable from the front) in order for them to stand by their work. At this point, my appliance store recommended I call Dryer Vent Wizard, who told me that Kleen Green had reattached the vent hoses improperly. Dryer Vent Wizard had tools and gauges to ensure that the vents were reattached properly and air/ lint wasn't leaking. Overall, it felt like a much more honest and professional experience. I tried to find the original review / website I used to select KleenGreen and couldn't find it anywhere. I did see a listing for KleenGreen in another state over 1000 miles away. The price ended up being $350 plus tax because I was informed I needed an advanced cleaning due to the length of time between cleanings. I was also informed that the cement around the chimney was damaged and I needed a custom sized chimney cap, all of which would total over $800. I paid for the cleaning and a downpayment on the additional work. I never heard from them again. When I called the company, they said someone would contact me within 3-4 days, which did not happen. The service man did not respond to my texts or calls. The payment was sent to someone's personal Venmo account rather than to Kleen Green by name. I have learned a lesson from this. The internet deal was $199, but due to a foul smell in the ducts they talked me into a $750 cleaning, "for your health, for your allergies", etc. I asked many questions, checked reviews, and finally agreed. So my appointment was moved 1 week later from the original date. Then a guy came to the house and told me that the $80 cleaning service won't do it at my dryer vent and he had to use chemicals. The price went from $80 to $367. To be fair I have been without a dryer for a long time and it is a hard place to work on. Do not use this company!! 1. They advertise a $99 chimney sweep and then if anything needs repair I'll repair it on site for the additional fee. 2. On arrival to my home I was told it would be $350 + tax because my chimney was deeper than 9 feet and he had to extend his cleaning rod. The brush at the end of the rod looks more like four wire prongs. 3. I contested this as this is not what was advertised, yet I needed my chimney cleaned and consented in the end. 4. After the chimney sweep was done and he needed entry into my house to vacuum out the fireplace, he asked me for my own garbage bag and an extension cord for the dry vac. I would normally not care about anything like that but because I already had the sense that this was a scam it only affirmed my feelings. 5. After he left and I attempted to use my fireplace the next day smoke continued to pour out of the fireplace. Between my father and I two days later with our own dry vac and cleaning out all of the soot and debris managed to clean it ourselves. This was the biggest rip off I have ever experienced. 6. When you try to call the phone number you're given the complete runaround and told that the technician is their own boss. They ask if you still have their number, which of course you don't because it's an out-of-state number and Lord knows how many of those we get on the daily from spam. They were called out to my 85 year old step-mom's house for the $99 dryer vent cleaning special and charged her $825 after telling her she needed deep cleaning and a special coating put in the vent. Instead of writing a check to Kleen Green (which was hand written on a generic invoice), they insisted the check be written to JP Cleaning. This week an inspector noticed the dryer vent was in pieces and not connected inside the attic at all. When the company was called to ask about it, the manager-Alex refused to help or answer questions and further told me he would "find me and see if I was as bold in person as I was on the phone", and that he would "look up my phone number to find out who I am". Wow, bad reviews all the way around. I wished I had done my research before calling - but I was in a hurry because I needed to get my house on the market. Tech came up in an unmarked van. He was pushy, berated me for not cleaning my vent more, and asked why I hadn't done regular maintenance. I finally told him that I know I should have cleaned my vent more and asked him to just do his job. He seemed to have a problem getting the brush head all the way into the vent, complaining about bends in the pipe, and then asked me about the venting layout in the home. I told him I had no idea. Then he told me that he might have to blow a chemical up the pipe to dissolve the blockage, which would cost "a little more." He never did that, but upped the price when he was finished - to the tune of about $120 more than the original quote! Admittedly, he worked for about an hour but never stopped to tell me how much it was going to cost for the extra work (he also kept leaving my front door open when he went in and out). After the quote, I let him know my displeasure, and then he wanted to negotiate with me. I finally got him down about 40 bucks from his inflated price, at which time he said it was all "just a misunderstanding." Another review noted that this company has several different "aliases." When they put the pipes back together, they used plain duct tape, not the kind that should have been used. A few days later we noticed a water spot in the closet where the dryer vent goes. When we went into the attic, there was condensation/water all over and the duct tape was coming off. Called to speak to the manager and he was extremely rude and said no way was it the work they did. He didn't even offer to come inspect the work or damage. Our house is on the market and had the inspection done by the new buyers the week before. Zero stars. I found an old receipt from this company from 2019 and thought I would add a review to make sure I had at least done that. At the time I was so mad I could not see straight! This company obviously is a scam and like others who have reviewed them, I wished I had investigated and researched more. The owner/contractor I dealt with seemed fine before the job - seemed knowledgeable and the price was fine. I needed a 20 year cleaning and cracks fixed, so I knew it would be pricey. At the time I asked over and over if I would need to cover anything in my house or take any precautions. He assured me NO - not even my white bedspread in my bedroom where I have a fireplace. - NO m'am we have in handled. I should have just covered everything. In any case, after he used a harsh chemical to break up the mess in my chimney, my whole house was full of soot (I still am fiding it in 2023). It settled everywhere all the way into the kitchen and up to the front door. I have a pretty big house. There was a huge soot spot on the carpet, and in one room he found a dead wasp nest about 6 inches up inside the flue and basically touched it and it fell down. I could have done that. He charged me $195 after the fact without asking me - but swore I gave him the go ahead. Ridiculous. After they left and I had a chance to really survey all the damage and freaked out I called the main number - he answered and I asked (stupidly) for customer service. Nope, he is/was it. He said he might clean the spot if I showed it to him to which I replied that I would never ever let him do ANYTHING in my home again and suggested politely that maybe he was crazy to even think that.
