Prepping a house for sale of an aunt who recently passed away. Matt offered to go by with his trusty black light and give me an estimate, including if the carpet could be cleaned or should be replaced. Overall, I have NEVER dealt with a more knowledgeable person in pretty much any trade I've ever hired! Great communication, show up when they say they will show up, thorough, and follow through with a customized cleaning plan like you won't get with anyone else. After seeing the extent of the pet damage, he recommended replacing all the carpet, not cleaning it, because the damage was too extensive to be able to remove long-term pet odors from the existing carpet (and he explained why). Then, after bidding himself out of making any money on the job, he STILL spend a significant amount of time on the phone with me talking about what he saw, why it's an issue (how pet odors work and what you need to do to TRULY get rid of them, which I had no idea!), the importance of fixing it before selling it, etc. He was SOOOO honest, knowledgeable, and helpful, saving me from a lot of potential trouble later. Then we needed to return because we had new stains....blood stains ( from a fall), an orange pop stain other various stains. Wow....stains gone and carpet (white) looks terrific. The person started by parking in front of the garages so no residents could get in or out. When asked to move his truck he became extremely verbally abusive, but managed to move out of the no parking area after about 45 minutes. The work he did after that reflected his poor mood. He quickly clened the remaining carpet, missing large areas, and left most of the floor soaking wet. He then threw the small furniture back in the room and dragged the larger peices just inside the door and left them there. End result: one person late for work, one broken end table, two hours spent trying to mop up water and replace furniture, and "freshly cleaned" carpet that's starting to smell like mildew. read more
