I was told I needed 2 bundles for volume, which I later learned meant permanent extensions -- something I never agreed to or understood. According to the salon's own literature, a consultation is required for hair extensions -- which I never received. Had I had a consultation, I would have known exactly what type of extensions they planned to use, how many they would apply, and how much they would cost. I would never have agreed to what they gave me -- never. The only extensions I knew of were clip-ins, which is what I thought I would be receiving for a one-day occasion. Instead, I was passed between 4 different stylists and moved from chair to chair with my back to the mirror, so I didn't realize what was happening until it was too late. The final result was shocking: no lipstick (I was told to buy my own at Walgreens) and hair extensions I never wanted that were supposed to last 5 months. My makeup looked unfinished, and my hairstyle fell out within 30 minutes. I felt completely devastated on what should have been a special day. I was charged nearly $900 (plus $90 in tips) and did not receive a receipt that day; I only received it a week later upon request. Now I must pay another $300 elsewhere just to have the extensions removed. When I followed up, one response I received was: "We assumed price did not matter because you did not ask." Over a week later, I still haven't heard from the owners, and the text from the salon manager was completely unprofessional. She took no accountability and instead deflected the situation onto me. I suffer from alopecia and luckily am in remission, so learning that K-tips should never have been done given my hair history was very concerning. The only person who has truly helped me is a great guy from corporate, who acted as a liaison for me to reach the managers and owners. He explained that his hands are tied since each salon is individually owned and that it is up to the owner to make things right -- which, obviously, they don't care one iota. I am seeking a refund, but as of now, I have been denied. Finally, the salon posted my "transformation" on their Facebook page without my knowledge, and the "After" photo was severely face-tuned, (photoshopped) as are most of the transformations of other clients on their page. I strongly urge anyone considering this salon to ask very clear questions and get everything in writing beforehand. Transparency and accountability were completely missing from my experience.
