My mother and I needed to get our hair done, and we decided to give this salon a try based on its reviews. The salon is beautiful. It's very welcoming, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Upon entering, we were greeted immediately by one of the owners and the stylist who was going to take care of my mom. My mother got a body wave, and her stylist was Ariana. My mother is elderly and has had the same haircut for decades, but it had grown out and she's no longer able to maintain it the way she used to be able to. Ariana was very patient with her and helped her determine what would work best. My mother was very pleased with the outcome. It's a bit of a change, but she's getting used to it. I simply needed a simple haircut. My stylist was Belinda. She was great! She understood what I was looking for and did not try to change my mind or convince me to do something else like I've had previous stylist do, because I have long straight hair and it's The perfect canvas to try new things with. However, that's not what I'm interested in. The prices for my mother and my perm and haircut were very reasonable! My mother and I agree that we were both very happy and will definitely be going back to see Ariana and Belinda when we need our next hair appointment. My haircut with April was a horrible disaster. I showed April a photo of how I wear my hair, and explained that I wanted the same haircut as in the picture of me. April cut my hair so short that I couldn't get a curler in the back of my hair on the entire head. My haircut looks nothing like the picture. My husband told me he does not like it, that I look like a man with it being so short. I have several functions this week and have to wear a wig because I am so embarrassed of how terrible I look. I was here not to long ago looking around to see if i wanted to book an appointment, the vibe of the salon is amazing but my complaint is the way the manager or owner speaks to the staff. I overheard the manager talking to the staff in a very rude and disrespectful manner which is never ok on any occasion, the professionalism in this salon lacks big time. read more

I was so excited to have a salon open in Crownsville. Most of my life I have my hair cut dry because it is wavy and curly. I had gone to KM several times and the last time I went the style was not good. I called to request the cut be repaired. I spoke to a receptionist that was nasty and said that's why no one should leave the salon without having their hair dried. Hmm-never had it washed. I arrived at KM salon today for an appointment for a cut and color with one of their stylists. The appt was originally scheduled on 24 Feb, at the conclusion of my previous appointment (which was just a haircut). I arrived today to be told my appointment was cancelled because the stylist had left the salon. I have the appointment scheduled and confirmation on my phone... Why was I not notified of the cancellation I asked. I was told it was the departing stylist's responsibility to contact all of her customers. Well...I was a new customer for that stylist. (I would consider myself a customer of the salon, not an individual stylist...) I asked why the salon didn't ensure cancellations were sent out. The receptionist repeated (multiple times) that it's the stylist's responsibility. Basically they insisted the salon bears no responsibility to ensure ALL of the customers booked with the departing stylist are notified with appointment cancellations. I view this as terrible customer service. read more

Scamming salon. I received a vm on Thursday (day before) the appointment confirming my appointment. I then received another call later in the day asking me to come 15-20 minutes later due to the previous appointment was running late. I told the young lady that my appointment with Kelsey was on Friday. Also informed the young lady that I had an appointment with Minna that Friday and wanted to cancel. She said ok. On Friday after I did not show up for my appointment that I had canceled the day before K&M decided to charge my card the full price. When I received the receipt I immediately call K&M and asked them why they charged my card. I requested my money be returned. Minna called me back and said he only had one receptionist working on Thursday and she did not recall calling me to come in later that day. Minna stated they have an office policy that you must call more than 24 hours ahead to cancel or you will get charged as a no show. I have never seen this policy and Minna asked if I ever made an appointment on line and I told him no. I should have never gave K&M my credit card to keep in file. I find this unprofessional and lack of customer service. Please watch out for the scam. I will also report this to the BBB. read more
