We spent two lovely days at Knapp's Narrows Inn. The room was simple, clean, and spacious, with a great balcony overlooking the marina and sunset! The continental breakfast was adequate and appreciated the fresh fruit ... and outdoor seating was perfect. We enjoyed pleasant morning walks around the marina, over the drawbridge, and through some of the nearby neighbourhoods. We had a nice snack on the outdoor seating of the nearby restaurant on the property. All the staff we encountered ... front desk, reservations, and housekeeping were pleasant, friendly, and informative. We would definitely return if we were in this area again! read more

So this is the second summer that Boyfriend and I took a weekend, hopped in the car on a Friday...sans plans and just drove. Free of any obligations...just the road. We found Knapps on the Saturday night, and let me tell you-we wished we had found it on the Friday (that's a whole nutha review). From the moment we pulled in, we knew we'd found a winner. I was received at the front office by the friendliest person with incidentally fantastic golden hair! He was warm and professional and delightfully there was one room left! We had a 3rd floor spot with a beautiful view of the Bay. We were both impressed with not only the spaciousness of the room, but the calm, just really crisp and pretty decor. It was bright and inviting...just really sunny. If you find yourself deciding on spots for a lovely, relaxing stay, Knapps is a wonderful option! read more

Everyone was very accomodating. The rooms are pretty spacious and come with a fridge and microwave. We were traveling with our infant and were glad the room had everything she needed. Breakfast was decent and there's a pretty good restaurant on the other side of the marina if you need more food. Good place for dogs too, lots of areas around the marina to walk around. read more

This place is a hidden gem. The rooms are very clean and every room has a water view. In the morning you can see a moonset and a sunrise at the same time. The people at the Inn & Marina along with the locals from the Island are some of the friendliest people you ever want to meet. How I heard of this place: My husband brought me here for my birthday weekend getaway, where we were offered a filling and delightful continental breakfast on each of our two mornings with the Inn. Type of cuisine: A contintental breakfast for champions! Ambiance: Brightly lit, white room with white wicker furnishings throughout, windowed walls opening out onto the Chesapeake Bay, the voices of guests aflutter as the toaster sounds and water is poured from the glass jug. Casual and bright, open and friendly. What I ordered: On day one: diced watermelon, "natural" green grapes, bananas, one chocolate mini donut each and two bagels: everything with cream cheese for me, blueberry with butter for hubby. On day two, we started with fruit: grapes and watermelon, added cubes of Provolone and Swiss cheese, one toasted blueberry bagel with butter split between the two of us, mini powdered sugar donuts and a plethora of sweet treats, obviously in celebration of my birthday. ;) We enjoyed bite-sized home made fudge brownies and miniature fall decorated cupcakes, along with the Martinelli's Sparkling Apple Cider which my husband ordered and had delivered on ice. The positives : very friendly, amazing views, very quiet. The room was clean, pleasant odor and breakfast was nice. If you are a boater, this is your stop. Great shower rooms and pool. Had a great bike ride all around the island. The negatives: the restaurant was shut down and we would have liked to been told, however the bridge restaurant across the bridge was awesome. Request the suite above the garage (I know that sounds weird) because it's the most inexpensive, with the best view, and is conveniently right off the road. The place is clean, comfortable, has great views, and is beyond affordable. Unfortunately there isn't much around here and the restaurant went out of business so you'll be hard pressed to find much to do. Have a plan before you visit the area. read more

Another great Yelp find! We spent a romantic Valentine's day weekend here and absolutely loved it! We were looking for a place that was off the beaten path in a place we have never been to. Tilghman island was it and we found this place through yelp and booked online. The staff there was so friendly. They really did make you feel like home when we checked in. They have a continental breakfast and coffee and tea available all day. Even though the weather was bad and the whole island had power issues...we still enjoyed a cozy weekend with this Inn. We even enjoyed a Character's and a liquor store all within walking distance of this Inn. Cant wait to come back for some fishing and kayaking! read more

This hotel was a real delight and beat our expectations. The rooms are clean, and brightly decorated in a beach style. They are very roomy with tall ceilings ( at least on the top floor) and a good strong AC system. The real highlight is being able to sit on your balcony and watch the sunset over the bay. This is a great location next to Tilghman Island and a short drive to St Michaels. It's more reasonably priced than the fancier places there and I think the atmosphere is quite charming in an unpretentious way. It's a marina with lots of boats docking, boat people and boats in dry dock. Lastly, the have a very nice pool in a separate enclosed area. It's a real pool, nice large size. read more

Stayed here over the weekend and it was a pleasant surprise. We chose is based upon the fact that there was a view and it was cheaper than most of the bed and breakfasts in the area. The rooms was pretty clean with beach-y wicker furniture. The only complaint wold be that our room was near all of the AC units and on a hot weekend, they were constantly kicking in. The staff was nice and helpful. The view, however, made everything seem unimportant. From our balcony you can see quite a bit and watch the birds feed, mate, and dance around. Knapps Narrows is our standard re-fueling stop from the south side of St. Michael's. Gas prices are fair, and there has not been a wait for gas. The narrows is a neat place to traverse and watch the draw bridge go up. The last stop we noticed a very fast current, so be prepared when tying up at the dock. read more

Tiny town, but marina has its own restaurant and outdoor bar. Room decor dated, but all exceptionally clean, even the outdoor furniture on the balcony. Rooms face west, so sun looks glaring at check in but there are nice shady areas to sit until sunset, which is great, looking out over the water. read more

Just wrapped up a two-night trip here in a late summer. Hotel was beautiful and clean, as was the locale. Tilghman doesn't have much of a "downtown" per se but this is very close to the general store, restaurants, and marina. The staff were super accommodating. All rooms have a stunning bay/waterfront view that make watching sunsets as easy as sitting on your balcony. Complimentary continental breakfast and bikes were a huge plus, and the price was very reasonable. A wonderful place! read more

Whatever you do, don't use their marina for services on your boat. It's a known fact trying to find a trustworthy boat mechanic is hard, well take my advice and don't trust them. I purchased my boat and it was stored here. It had some problems and according to their website they "specialize" in restorations. After 4 weeks of just sitting collecting dust I had it moved closer to home because I was sick of the delays and run around on timing. I had 3 issues and a list 9 other minor issues. Even though I kept asking them to price them all he kept only referring to the 3. They fixed a trim tab issue so good job. The generator wouldn't start and they said they fixed that but when I went to use it, she starts and stalls immediately. Then the kicker, my shoreline breaker kept tripping and they told me it would cost $2300 and actually said oh I'd take it up by you to fix. When I got it home I found a hole in the panel that puddled water behind the breaker which kept tripping it. They actually charged me $150 for this clown to try to rip me off. Beautiful area but I wouldn't even stop in for lunch at this place after this experience. read more

My wife and I along with our two dogs just spent a beautiful weekend on our boat at the Knapp's Narrows Marina & Inn. I can't say enough how helpful the dock master was(Joe). He monitored channel 16 and was waiting for us when we pulled up to the floating dock. He helped us tie up and plug into shore power and made sure everything was working before he left us. He pointed out the amenities that the marina offered (pool, kayaks, bicycles, showers, laundry, continental breakfast) and even offered a loaner car if we needed one. The facilities were clean and well kept and there was a nice gathering area in the inn where breakfast is served. The room was open for transient boaters as well as those staying at the inn, it was air conditioned and comfortable. We only paid for Saturday night, so Sunday morning after breakfast I asked what time they would like us to vacate the slip. Much to our delight we were told to stay as long as we wanted, as they were expecting a light day, so we stayed until late afternoon before heading back across the bay. The bay views were great and the bridge traffic entertaining. The staff is great, the price is reasonable and there are several restaurants and a store within walking distance. I stayed here for a weekend and absolutely LOVED it! The rooms were lovely and clean (albeit lacking a fridge, which was a downside) and the view from every room was a beautiful overlook of the bay. Staff were so helpful and nice. They had several bikes which you could just take out wherever you wanted, which was awesome. The best part of the the weekend was that the staff went above and beyond to help us. I left my bathing suit in the room, and they kept it and are mailing it to me!! An important thing to keep in mind with Tilghman in general: There is essentially nothing to do after 9 pm. Most places close down, and even in St. Michaels there is no nightlife. But for us, not a huge deal. Would definitely stay here and again and recommend to anyone looking for a picturesque weekend with wonderful staff :) read more

The location (marina) and view (bay) is great, but there are serious issues that make this a place we won't be returning to. a) The walls and ceilings are paper thin. We could hear our upstairs neighbors tromping around (they had kids) and talking. b) Our room (102) shared a wall with 7+ outside air conditioning units; the noise from them was incredible. If you do come here, at all costs avoid room 102. I measured noise levels of 60 decibels (equivalent to conversation) through the wall using an app on my phone. c) The desk is unmanned from early evening onwards. Forget about changing your room. There is an out of hours number you can call, but nobody picked up or returned by call when I called around 8pm. Granted we were visiting in mid-may, out of season; however, easily 6 rooms in the hotel were occupied, so it seems inexcusable to not have night staff. d) The beds are mixed quality. In our double room, one was hard as a rock and creaky, while the other was quite comfortable. Be sure to test them when you arrive. e) Finally, your view of the bay from a ground floor room may be limited by the fact that the parking lot is between the inn and the bay. Second floor rooms thus make the only rational choice from both the noise and view perspectives. In short, this place has a lot of potential, but is lazily run and thus is only mediocre overall. read more

We have stayed here two years in a row on trips to the Eastern Shore. The staff is always super friendly, rooms are simple but clean, views from the hotel are phenomenal. Free bike rentals to explore the island are included and rentals for paddle boarding/kayaking are on site as well. Walking distance to a couple of restaurants which makes it even more convenient. This is not a luxury hotel but it is a great place for a quiet get away on the eastern shore. read more
