What a wonderful place to stop for a bite to eat! Was out today with a dear friend and she wanted to stop here as she knew the owner but hadn't been by. Turned out to be a great idea! I think the phrase is a "labor of love". A quaint and very well kept restaurant in downtown New Kensington. Plenty of parking. Outdoor seating as well as dining inside. Mind the limited hours...more of a breakfast/lunch spot depending when. Very friendly staff, and we were seated quickly, opting for a spot outside to enjoy the sun. One orders inside, and they bring the food to you once it's prepared. This is a "suggested price but pay what you can" concept restaurant. Fresh local and on-site sourced food. The food? DELICIOUS! Oh my just the cheesy cauliflower mac and cheese is enough to draw me back! The veggie Greek pita though? OMG good! My friend had some sort of fried baloney sandwich she thoroughly enjoyed. Looked panini-ish, but stacked with meat and goodies...very well presented! I hear they have salmon, so I have to come back with my 13 yr old salmon expert son...and if this first experience of mine is any indication, he'll love it, finicky a bit or not. Go here. No, seriously...stop here for the delicious! The delicious!!!

Chicken pesto wrap and Potato Gouda soup!

I finally made it to my community restaurant and it was a wonderful experience. I ordered the chicken pesto wrap with potato Gouda soup. The ingredients were fresh and wholesome. The pesto flavorful the chicken was moist topped with tomatoes and greens wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla. The soup had chunks of potato and Gouda cheese and was oh so creamy. The drinks were complimentary. The cafe is ambiance is warm and inviting the decor is colorful and bright made from repurposed items. This is an definitely an asset to our community! Bravo!!

    Figures. I hate owl's.

The chef and his staff are the greatest. Your belly is full with leftovers for the next day. Your taste buds are dancing.

Grandma in 2005 had made no plans, and Ross and company gently guided us through the entire process, helping us try to find the path that would satisfy both her wishes and the needs of our grief. Later on my parents both did a full pre-need through Ross. 'Pre-need' can be well-shaped - if you want to have the entire process decided and paid for in advance, that can be done - or to a lesser degree, whatever you're comfortable with, they'll work through it and explain it thoroughly, several times if need be. After all, they're the professionals, and they know what needs doing. When Mom passed in 2011, all we had to do was grieve; everything else was handled. Pat and Ross III were lifesavers. We buried my Dad on 1/28/19, and the funeral experience was the same excellent level of service. RGW arranged for an honor guard since dad was an Air Force veteran, and I cannot thank Ashley enough for the idea - Dad was in the Legion and loved and was supported by his brothers in arms over the years. With Dad, Ross G. Walker IV (third generation in the business) helped us with the same care and concern his father showed to my mother and grandmother. It's reassuring to see that continuity of service maintained in an often chaotic world. He's a natural, and 'Big R' has got a good career ahead of him. Bottom line: when you're feeling like you're at the lowest moment in your entire life, Ross G. Walker - both of them - will treat you with care.

It almost feels like you discovered something you weren't supposed to find. The menu is just as random as the location -- sandwiches, tacos, salads, and small plates. It sounds chaotic... but somehow it works. But at botL, the cacio e pepe is king. Yes, that cacio e pepe. The infamous Roman dish with so few ingredients that it has no right delivering this much flavor. It's simple food that exposes bad technique instantly... and botL absolutely nails it. They don't mess around either, even incorporating the hollowed-out cheese wheel. Sure, it might look a little showy... but when it tastes this good, who cares? I added the blackened shrimp and it was cooked to perfection. Perfect seasoning, perfect texture, perfect addition. Sometimes the best meals come from the most unexpected places... and botL fits that bill perfectly.

Maizy, Lydia, attention to our service, Simone (chef) and Tom greeted us with smiles and welcomes! I never choose for anyone but said I'm ordering our entrees! Cacio de pepe with filet tips atop. Wedge salad, wedding soup, and stemmed glass martinis and cabernet with dinner! Oh, brûlée cheesecake with a birthday candle was perfect ending! We arrived later than planned and happily closed the place down. We never felt rushed to go!!! That's an exceptional quality! I love it here and so did they! Resers best especially during prime time and days, but the bar is fun too! Some side parking and neighborhood street parking! You can thank me later!
