I realize not much can be done about the outside but the little lobby is dark and dingy. Not exactly a spa vibe. The ugly: the "review" from one of the therapists telling a client to "get bent" is really off-putting. If I had read these reviews before booking, I probably wouldn't have gone here. I came seeking help for bad knots and tension in my back from work- felt better after just one visit, but I plan on coming more frequently to keep up and maintain how good I feel now. Josh beat the hell out of me for an hour and I will be coming back for more. In all seriousness I didn't come for a "relaxing spa experience" I came to rectify extra tightness and nerve issues that I have been having as of late. Josh listened and used multiple different techniques on my problem areas. Rome want built in a day and my issues aren't going to fix themselves over night but after just one session I feel so much better (even being sore from the session feels so much better than it did before) He also gave advice and recommendations on things I need to do myself to improve my issues. I'm a carpenter so I beat up my body pretty well, but I dont want to use pain pills to get through the day or do months of physical therapy to get results. OMG. I already know I'm going to be a regular at this clinic. I had the most amazing Thai massage experience ever. Not only was the masseuse very professional, he was also very informative and fun to talk to. I came into my massage completely clueless and wore a romper. Little did I know Thai massage is basically assisted deep stretching. Most of the time, I request a female masseuse- this was not possible in this case. I just do it to avoid creepy people. I did not feel creeped out whatsoever and was even offered a blanket to help me feel better. I left my 90 minute massage feeling like I was on a cloud. I'm already planning another visit! Before my appointment, I filled out a health evaluation of myself online and submitted it online. It's always important for a masseuse to understand somethings about your body. That they also give you the option of doing it online is even more convenient. - Good pressure/quality. I explained to him the target areas of my body that needed more focus and he obliged. Additionally, Aaron massaged right above my eyebrows, my scalp, and my temples. People underestimate how helpful it can be to relieve tension in your head. I'm happy to see Aaron understands. He explained to me afterwards, that heads are heavy and people are not aware of that. The nerves in the head are important. - No skimping on time. Self explanatory, but important. - Price. To be fair, I was given a first time customer discount, which was hella cool. However, their rates are more reasonable compared to some of the other spas in this area. Ordinarily, a Swedish massage for 60 minutes is $65. I have looked up other places, where a 60 minute massage is $70 or more. What's Not - Difficult to get same day appointments. I tried to get a same day appointment the day before and wasn't able to. To be fair, this isn't a large establishment. This is not to say that you can never get a same day appointment, but it depends on the day. Observations - The front door is on the left of the building. There are 2 doors for this location- the 100 building. Their front door is the one on the left. Be aware of this, because it looks like you can get in from the right hand side, but you can't. So I have been to KT a couple of times as my hectic schedule, my budget, and my energy allows. Its close enough that I can walk there, which is a special treat. I wish Crafton would host more amazing small businesses so I could bar, restaurant, massage, etc. hop all day! Anyway, I have seen Aaron for all of my massages. They have been fantastic. The space is cozy and inviting, the scheduling is quick and easy, and the prices are fair and market comparable. Scheduling my appointment was effortless, Aaron gave me all pertinent information and emailed me the client intake form to fill out ahead of time so that I did not have to waste my time or Josh's time filling it out when I arrived for my appointment. The room temperature was comfortable and nice low lighting, the music was relaxing and enjoyable. My massage therapist name was Josh. He was very professional and took the time to listen to my needs. He was very good about informing me what muscles were causing the pains I was feeling and what he was doing to address them. Used the schedule appointment on the webpage as directed to do on Facebook page. Drove an hour to shop before my appointment because I like to be early to fill out paperwork and make sure I don't get lost. My appointment was at 4:30 and got a call at 2:50 saying they had to cancel. I am so mad I wasted gas and my time to make sure I would be early and then it gets cancelled. I tried to call to make the appointment and no one answered so that's why I scheduled online. What a joke. I don't ever want to go to a place that cancels appointment an hour and half before appointments when there one cancel policy is 24 hours for you to cancel on them and I live 45 min away and always get to appointments at least 20 min early if it's the first visit, so I DO NOT FEEL LIKE 1 1/2 is enough time to cancel on someone because A lot of people are out of town that leave early just in case there is traffic or if they get lost. There was no excuse given on way they cancelled, just that she had to reschedule. Seems like a very unorganized place. The owner did call the next day to apologize, but nothing he says is going to make up for the hour I wasted to drive there and the gas money I spent. Even if he offered 3 free massages I wouldn't trust them to actually waste my time to drive there again. read more

That being said, I just got finished with, yet another incredible one hour massage, from the owner, Aaron. I've been having upper back problems for about 3 months now, and have been benefitting from physical therapy a great deal. However, after having a really rough work week last week, I decided to treat myself before the start of another work week, and I feel so great! I've been fortunate enough to get massages all over the place; from Chicago, to Prague, to Cancun, to Las Vegas, etc, and of course a number of places here in PGH over the 6.5 years I've lived here, and Aaron truly IS one of, if not the best professionals I've experienced. He was professional and uses great strength combined with light touches and pressure points all to give a relaxing swedish massage. Everything felt amazing with the perfect pressure. Only reason why it is not 5 stars is because there was some noise from the office directly above the room (footsteps walking around, floor noises). I booked my husband & I a couples massage for my birthday. Aaron was great to deal with in setting up the appointment. We arrived a saturday morning and Aaron and Gabby were waiting for us. He brought us into the massage room and made sure we were all set before coming in the room. We started face up and switched 1/2 way through our 90 minute massage. Both of our massages were wonderful and relaxing. Aaron really concentrated on the areas that i told him that needed extra attention. I had an appointment for a 90 minutes hot stone massage on the afternoon of March 11, and unfortunately, I was highly disappointed and certainly won't return. First, it didn't start until 15 minutes after my appointment time. Had it run 15 minutes longer, I wouldn't have cared, but it only lasted 75 minutes. By 10 p.m. (my massage was scheduled for 4:30 p.m.), I had a huge red burn, including at least three blisters, on my torso because a stone was too hot. While I was told to let the massage therapist know if it was too hot, when I did say something, apparently it was too late. I wouldn't be so upset, but before the stone was placed on my torso, the massage therapist said, "This one might be a little hot." If she, a trained massage therapist thought the stone might be too hot, I can't understand why it was placed on me. (This was my first (and likely last) hot stone massage, and the therapist was aware of this before the massage began.) When I woke up this morning, which was 15 hours after the massage, I noticed that I also have a burn on my back. I like to see local businesses succeed, but I definitely won't be recommending this place to anyone. UPDATE: I just spoke with Aaron, the owner, who was incredibly apologetic and refunded my money. He also offered me a free massage. I don't doubt that this most likely is a good place to go for a massage (very clean, and the folks that work there seem to be really nice and easy going), but because of my own personal experience, I won't recommend it. read more
