Hungry after a not so great experience at "Ronnie Pastrami's" I decided to pop in Kneaders for a sandwich. Inside is smelled wonderful. It was clean and I was greeted. Since it was my first time I needed a moment to look over the menu. They had a lot of tasty sounding selections. I decided on the "Turkey Cranberry Croissant". It cost $5.99 before tax and came with a side salad. It was delicious! I noticed some loaves of bread on a rack t hat looked sinfully delicious and asked what it was. The cashier said it was "Chunky Cinnamon Bread". She said you can buy it like that or come in sometime for breakfast because between 7am-11am you can get all you can eat french toast that is made from the chunky cinnamon bread!! You have to eat inside though to get the all you can eat deal. I know what I am trying next time! They offer different soups depending on what day of the week it is. They have a drive-thru. They have plenty of outdoor seating if you prefer not to eat inside. read more

If your grandma opened an adorable little lunch shop this would be it. Chocolate dipped strawberries, caramel apples, mint brownies, orange rolls, homemade bread and delicious soups and sandwiches. We ordered a turkey sandwiches, turkey bacon avocado on focaccia and a chicken salad croissant, along with the broccoli cheddar and chicken tortilla soup. We also bought some orange rolls to go! The breads are all homemade and wonderful. Soft and perfect for the sandwiches you order them on. The soups were good too! We stopped at Kneaders while visiting family in Santa Clara, and were pleasantly surprised to find a drive through, though not being here before I felt a sudden urge of 'order pressure' when we drove through it. We ended up with an assortment of things, I saw on Yelp the raspberry bread pudding and I ordered that. My husband ordered the cinnamon roll, and we ordered a chocolate croissant for our daughters. We also ordered a loaf of asiago cheese bread for dinner that evening. The bread pudding was extremely sweet! I don't know if the raspberries made it so sweet, but it was over the top. The creme it is topped with is delicious however. I could have had a bowl of just that! My husbands cinnamon roll was really tasty though not the best I've ever had. The croissant was phenomenal! The once great family friendly cafe in St George has lost its charm as the service and accuracy in getting orders right has gone below even a two star rating. Over the past year (2019) I have been served the wrong order 5 times and each time the hot sandwich was cold. This could be forgiven if the servers were nice about it but this has not been the case. Ordered a cake for a Valentines party....ordered a 10 inch whip cream icing with fresh strawberries.....which were supposed to be dipped in chocolate. First, there was no box to accommodate the cake, then the frosting was very heavy thick buttercream.... strawberries were not dipped and were very poor quality. Don't go here unless you have a lot of time to waste. This was my third and final try. Everything looks so good but I'll never know. The first time I came in at 12:05 for lunch. At 12:50 I got a refund and returned to work hungry(construction). The second time when I arrived at the register they told me 30 minutes or more so I left. This last time I came on new years day. The place looked deserted. I confidently ordered a sandwich and pastry. 35 minutes later I asked for a refund and left. A side note ...I wrote the company about the long wait time. They never answered. As a former restaurant owner I would have personally reach out and tried to make it right. On the positive side i did find a great place called The Farmstead. Almost perfection but I don't give 5 stars out easy. We're out-of-towners and decided to give Kneaders a second try after a pretty awful experience at another location. We were not disappointed despite a lot of anticipation for the worst. The staff were patient with us figuring out our order and were friendly. Our food came out timely, even though it was peak lunch hour on a Friday. Portions were exceptional and the food fresh tasting. The establishment was clean and kept up. Kneaders has great sandwiches, fresh bread, and delicious bakery items. We live that their sandwiches are served with side salads. Be forewarned that you may get a rude reception if you arrive within an hour of closing time. Our family ordered sandwiches a full 35 minutes before closing time, and we were told firmly that we would need to be done eating before they closed. They also had only three bread types and made us feel quite unwelcome when we asked for water. We will go back because we like their food, but management show be aware of how their night crew treats guests and provide some much needed customer service. read more

Heard this was a good place to get a yummy sandwich, WRONG! Over priced, and not to order. Selected a pastrami on country loaf, with lite mustard, heated; price $7.51 including tax. It took more than 15 minutes for my order to come out, the place was not busy (3 others). It was heated; 2 slices of average size bread, 3 skimpy, thin slices of pastrami, tons of mustard, and one thin slice of cheese. I have gotten a better pastrami at a "quick stop" gas station for $4.00! Will not go back, dot recommend the place! read more

I have lived in the St. George Utah area now for about 1.5 years. Sometimes it is hard to decide what you want to eat and where. My wife and I just visited Kneaders Bakery & Cafe for lunch. We have visited a number of times while in St. George. The staff has always been very pleasant, the restaurant is always clean, and the food has always been excellent. If you have a sweet tooth, you will love the choice of pastries that stare you down at the counter along with the wonderful selection of breads. I am always impressed with the selection of soups. I normally get a combination lunch with a sandwich, ( Soup or Salad ). Thank you to the management and the staff of Kneaders St. George, Utah. Keep up the great work. Came here today for breakfast. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. The croissant was freshly baked and was so delicious. I got a mocha to go with my sandwich but unfortunately their espresso machine was down. I got it replaced by a coffee and received a refund for the price difference. Our server was super nice and gave my daughter a free cookie. All the food was delicious including my dads unlimited French toast. I also got an eclair for desert which was also promising. Ordered and paid for my food online at 9pm. They close at 10pm. I ordered a chicken pesto panini sandwich, a bowl of tomato bisque soup, Parmesan chips, and guava juice. When I showed up at the drive through window at 9:20pm I was told there was no soup and I got refunded the price of the soup (~$3). I later noticed that my sandwich was made incorrectly. Instead of giving me what I ordered they substituted 3-4 measly pieces (not even a whole slice) of turkey instead of the chicken breast that I paid for and they did this without letting me know or asking me. The bread was a soggy mess, wbut the edges were so tough I could hardly chew it. I paid $15+ ($12+ after soup refund) for a meal and the only things not messed up were the drink and chips. I called at 9:40pm and nobody picked up the phone. Never again. People, don't waste your time or money with this location. My family went through the drive thru and are pretty disappointed with the service received. We repeatedly (8 times or more) ordered because whoever was on the other end was not listening. Once the food was ready, they forgot 2 sides and 4 meals. We respectfully told them they forgot our meals and then they almost charged us for what was missing. We ordered the Turkey/Cranberry Croissant and the Grilled Cheese with Pesto Butter ( YUMMY!!!) online for delivery. These items arrived within 10 minutes and the Grilled Cheese was still crispy! So good we get two of them! In 4-6 weeks we will have a second Kneaders at Dinosaurs' Crossing...near Smith's new Superstore. With 11000 participants in town for the Huntsman World Senior Games the establishment inside and out was booming with satisfied customers. Lines moved swiftly at 2 in the afternoon. Breads, rolls, pastries, cookies, pies, cakes were refilled promptly. Sandwiches, salads, and soups were assembled and served as ordered. Lowell, the owner, had his apron on and had his hands taking and filling orders. In the hub bub of this rush the staff still smiles and makes strangers feel welcomed. This atmosphere can't be bottled but comes from the examples set by Lowell and his wife. Kneaders shows St George at its best. Good hospitality from the biggest "little" town around. I have ordered most of the pastries, raved about the seasonal coconut cake, anything chocolate will satisfy the craving, canollis and the chocolate bomb, tarts, cookies, German chocolate Brownies make you want to smack your lips. Daily there are three soups...one will be nostalgic, while the second maybe decadent, the third will be on your "must try" list. Just ask and the staff will gladly give you a taste. There is always a sampling of a bread or two at the counter. Kneaders is also my suggested box lunch for an afternoon in the park, a game, a day's drive...a good way to turn the ordinary into an extraordinary event. They have breakfast and out of this world French toast. And coffee too. We locals are so lucky. read more

We usually love Kneaders, so we were unpleasantly surprised when we had lunch at this Kneaders in St. George Utah. We ordered 4 smoothies and paid $4.50 per smoothie only to get 4 water cups of fruit juice. It was like drinking guava juice from concentrate. There was no thickness, ice, nothing. When I asked about it, the employee just told me that is how they are. I've never had a smoothie at kneaders that was like this. They are usually actual smoothies. We didn't get utensils with our food. When we went back to ask for a few more forks, the employee gave us one and said that was good enough or us. Also, the whip cream on top of the chocolate domes was not good at all. It was hard snd did not taste good. Thank goodness the soup and sandwiches were still good, but overall disappointed with the service. It was a shame because I don't usually leave reviews let alone a negative one. read more

Kneaders has great all you can eat French toast for breakfast but struggles to win my excitement for lunch. The sandwiches are ok but can be inconsistent. Sometimes toppings are left off. Other times, random toppings have been added. You never know how your order will end up. Desserts are excellent along with the artisan breads. Three strikes and this store is out- we drove through and got an order to go and got all the way (15 miles- because I love their food) home to find stuff missing but charged for in the order. I called at least a dozen times before I could get through and they told me they would add it to their managers list. I returned the next week and they were out of the missing item. I returned a week later and the same guy waited on us. We asked if he would add our phone number for the frequent card record and he tapped on the screen, gave us our receipt which showed he hadn't entered the number. I'm writing this review solely to disagree with Sheldor U. She/He was upset that this Kneaders wasn't like another restaurant. Its like saying I don't like Pepsi because its not like coke. The review was well written and I feel like it was fair to their opinion however I feel like they were not open to different tastes. That being said, I agree the bakery is great. Try they pumpkin bread, My wife and I are both skinny. We run A LOT. Snacking is not something we do however its not a bid deal for us to polish off a loaf. Its not a huge loaf but the taste is great. I love how they always give you a slice of bread when you go in. Last time I went I tried 2 different soups, one was a tomato base I cant remember, my wife ordered it. I really liked the taste. My cream of broccoli was great, I got it in a bread bowl and there was plenty of food to fill me up. The sandwich we shared was large, crisp lettuce and just the right amount of different sauces to add the right taste without being messy and over the top. While ordering there was no line at all. By the time we finished there was a large line but they promptly got another cashier over and they were working through the people so the wait wasn't more than a minute or two. A new business is expected to have a few kinks, they are doing fine. Overall I say their bread, food and desserts are all grand.
