Nixon is one of the kindest servers I have ever had. Everyone knows what Cracker Barrel is but he made our breakfast great!

It was an unexpected trip to St George Utah on Easter Sunday. Without any reservations at any restaurant, I have decided to stop by at Cracker Barrel. This place is located nearby the Convention Center in St George. Walked in and asked if it's a waiting time for a table. Hostess said "no, no waiting time" and I was seated immediately. Waitress came by, took my order. After a significant amount of time later, she appeared with my drink. I ordered the Strawberry Peach lemonade. Then, I was waiting for my dinner for a LONG time! It was pretty awkward, sitting by myself at the table. Luckily, I had my lemonade ... almost finished it and no refills ... I was thinking, how about if someone would be checking on me if I needed anything else to drink or maybe say something why my dinner was delayed more than 40 minutes ... well, nobody bothered. Hated to ask another waitress to come over and help me out to check on my food! Finally, my waitress showed up and asked me if I needed anything. Of course! I needed my dinner!!! Shortly after this conversation, she walked back to the kitchen and few minutes later I had my plate front of me. Sadly, the items were not fully heated up, at least not for my liking. My order was nothing extraordinary, it was the Easter Special: Ham and Turkey with mashed potatoes, green beans and stuffing. I ate most of it, except the stuffing. It was cold. I don't eat cold stuffing. Regardless, I paid for my meal and left. My waitress gave me a piece of pecan pie, sweetening my mood, before I left. Thank you! Okay soo.. To start off i went for dinner with my family. We had to wait atleast 10 mins to be seated just because thete was no one at fornt... We were seated. I dont remember the waiter name but we were asking questions because we never been here. And were from vegas. She seemed annoyed and kept making faces. We all ordered steaks because honestly there want as much to pick from. We orded them WELL DONE. And they didnt even come well done... The food is super greasy as well. Oct 5, 2025. Breakfast. We actually ate breakfast also Oct 4, but this review is for today. In general however, coffee very weak and lousy. We had an experienced middle aged waitress expected better service however everyone in this restaurant has an attitude of don't bother me, and not caring about quality and that includes chef as our orders were not prepared properly, more in that ... coming. We asked for coffee and requested lots of creamer. We got about 6 creamers. Asked to bring 6 more. Later I Dan had to wave down a server as no one came to refill my coffee. If you are a breakfast restaurant, number 1 is keep the coffee and creamer coming !!!! We ordered breakfast. Waited a long time and mind you most of the restaurant was empty and staff were just standing around. It was at least 25 min wait for food. Food arrives with burnt black biscuits!! Why would you serve them? Ambers side of has Brian casserole was missing. Both days they don't bring or offer butter for biscuits or anything but I had gravy. Amber wanted butter too. Since we had 5 people our server had another male server help deliver all the plates to us. As our server had walked off Amber asked the guy server for her missing side dish, butter and we want new biscuits, not burnt !! This guy server rolled his eyes and walked off. I'm attacking a photo of him for management Our waitress cane back about 5 months ago later after she says the guy told her "we were missing a bunch of stuff". Soon properly baked biscuits arrived , the casserole and butter. Services's extremely slow and as I said they were really slow and most tables were empty. Staff were just standing around by kitchen door. They need train employees to fix their attitude, cooks to read orders and properly cook food This has happened to me before at this location when they served my day old hockey pick hard corn muffins and i had them replaced with fresh. We have at least an 8 hour drive home today, so slow service is not appreciated. But in closing we like Cracker Barrel and hope to see improvement. We come back once or twice a year to see shows at Tuacahn. Fix the attitudes!!!! Fix the sloppy meal prep, get better coffee or make it stronger. Please Offer espresso drinks like a latte, but this won't happen. read more

What a horrible experience..I had a bad experience here a few years ago and haven't been to another one since and my husband said let's give their breakfast a try. Well, we ordered eggs over hard and they came out jelly and over easy, so they took them back and recooked them, came back still with runny yolk. Well requested the manager and he was avoiding us, asked every table how things were but when I waved at him he put eyes down and ran in kitchen. Like how can't you cook eggs over hard? Terrible place, horrendous manager and customer service. Never ever again!! Heads up, avoid this location...also bathrooms dirty and a cockroach in the floor! read more

Not my first time at a Cracker Barrel.. Overall I think their food is ok but I do like the country store and since my husband's brother was with us visiting from out of the country, we figured it's a fun all-American experience. Unfortunately, the service at this particular store was quite poor. I should say that it was specific to the server assigned to our section. She was clearly new and was struggling. I had to get help from a few other wait staff who were super nice about it and even the manager apologized and pitched in to help. read more

Cracker Barrel never disappoints. We love to shop in the store while waiting for our table or play checkers at one of their tables outside. Portion sizes are always good and service is always on top. This time my sister's chicken on her salad was a little dry, but overall still gives it a 3.5/5. My daughter loved her chicken tenders and Mac n cheese and my mom enjoyed her burger. Their new peach strawberry lemonade was really good as well. We always enjoy the time we spend here. read more

We ate up on St. George Utah for a few days, and since we were hankering for some fried chicken, decided to grab dinner at Cracker Barrel. We ordered our fried chicken and a side of fried cheddar cheese. The fried cheese was a nice appetizer, hot and delicious! Our fried chicken came out piping hot! I don't usually care for chicken breast, mostly because it's always dry, but this one was super juicy! Possibly one of the juiciest fried chicken breast I've had! Instant favorite! For the sides, we had fried okra (good) makes potatoes (didn't care for the white gravy, so will get the brown next time), and turnip greens (kind of like collard greens, different flavor). My first visit to a Cracker Barrel. I was excited to begin with then disappointed. The food was meh, the service meh (had to ask for multiple forgotten parts of meals) and the experience didn't live up to the hype I had created in my mind. When paying the bill for my family of four I noticed there were six meals on the bill. The girl at the register was polite and as helpful as she could be. Ten minutes later and the girl having had to get two other people to rectify the error, I paid my bill and was out the door. Underwhelming experience. read more

Is a small city, and we got lucky because usually is pack in the mornings. It was no line on a Sunday morning!! Probably everybody is at church. Place is very clean and family friendly. The staff are very courteous and very nice. They welcome you right away!! They have a great menu but unfortunately not to many option for food allergies customers. (For breakfast) Soy allergy, egg allergy, lactose free, gluten free. We had to order lunch instead of breakfast for our nephew. read more

An old standby, indeed! We love us some Cracker Barrel in our household, especially when we are feeling nostalgic or want some comfort food. That's where we found ourselves recently and this location hit the spot. Service is cheerful and welcoming, although can be a little slow when they are crowded. But even when they are busy, they don't make customers feel like a burden when they ask for refills or an extra this-or-that. Even though I'm not a big shopper and I don't prefer a lot of "things," I simply adore the gift shop. They do a fabulous job of making the displays inviting and everything look like something I must have. As I sit here, I'm quietly regretting not picking up a sweater that was on the "sale" rack. Maybe I'll go back tomorrow for another helping of mashed potatoes and snag it. read more

I go there when I come to town every year or so. I always go on Friday coz I like the fish. Last time I was there the fish portion was very small so I didn't know what to expect. Cracker Barrel is a good place to eat. They have a lot of options and sides and you can always find something you want to eat. We tried the fried pickles this time and they were delicious. Stopped into Cracker Barrel for what used to be my favorite breakfast...Grandpa's Country Fried Steak, sunny side up eggs, and loaded hash brown casserole with biscuits and gravy ... well no longer my favorite...not sure what they did to the steak but it's definitely not the same quality, the eggs were good, the loaded hash brown casserole used to be good but this one was covered with bits of meat which had some grizzle in it, definitely not a good addition in my opinion, and when this meal was delivered we were advised there was at least a 10 minute wait for the biscuits and gravy ... this was also told to the guy sitting behind us....so when we were finished with our meal and ready to leave the biscuits arrived, oh and without gravy...what? Also note for a Wednesday morning there were very few customers... We used to always stop at Cracker Barrel for a good meal ... not any longer as it's just too disappointing...we will have to find another place ... sad to see them mess up so badly. P. S. I can't believe I've never been to a cracker barrel before, but probably because there are none near me in orange county. We stopped in here on the way home from Zion for a late breakfast/lunch. The food was soooo good and what was even better were the prices. I was shocked how inexpensive everything was. I ordered their new dish the Cheesy Bacon Homestyle Fried Chicken and it came with 2 sides. I opted for the mashed potatoes and broccoli. The chicken was a huge piece of meat, crispy and had a ton of flavor. The mashed potatoes were pretty standard and not my favorite. The broccoli was fine. My friend had the biscuit eggs Benedict. They initially forgot the bacon in his Benedict so they brought it out right away after. We had the peach ice teas to drink and they were delicious - not too sweet. Overall, the food for this price can't be beat. I would expect these dishes to be $5 higher where I'm from so I was pleasantly pleased. Would definitely come back if in the area. Restaurant is attached to a nice gift/country store that my mom would get lost in for an hour lol. read more

Really glad I stopped here on my trip to St George! The hostess with the long hair was so sweet, and our waiter, Sage was very kind. My partner said it was the best pancake he had ever eaten in his life. The berry French toast was pretty good but a little dry and lacked flavor compared to similar dishes at other restaurants. Our group was looking for somewhere for dinner close to our hotel and saw the Cracker Barrel sign. The last time any of us were in a Cracker Barrel was 4 years ago when we were all down south. We pretty much all split meals by couple and everyone enjoyed their dinners. For dessert two of us had the peach cobbler and one the chocolate fudge cake, both of which were yummy. Ocean was a good server and while there were a few hiccups she took care of everything so all was good. First time at this country style restaurant! There were many interesting decor, old wooden furnitures, and dining tables and chairs. The service was very friendly and fast. There were many traditional home-cooked breakfast meals on the menu. It's a nice breakfast stop while waiting for your Tesla to be charged. You could also shop for a gift while waiting for your table. I would definitely drop in again if I was in the area. Highly recommended! read more

My wife and I went there for dinner on Monday, May 4th at around 5 pm. It was pretty empty. No one was available to seat us for about ten minutes. Then when the person did seat us she merely laid our menus on the table, said nothing and walked away. A family of six was seated next to us with an infant. They had drinks but no one had taken their food order. A gentleman came in after us and was taken care of first. The time passed on that wait was another ten plus minutes. My wife could see in the kitchen where two people were walking around and did not appear to really be working. That was our clue to leave. We went to the Longhorn restaurant, received a friendly greeting, was immediately seated and told our server's name and that she would be with us shortly which she was. We were served water, bread, drink orders taken and by the time our server had returned with our drinks we were ready to order our meal. That all took less than ten minutes. Our meals were great. The service was wonderful. Our server checked on us four times . Friendly, professional and efficient. We don't know what has happened to Cramer Barrel. We use to love going there for meals which was usually standing room only. We have heard negative reviews from friends but wanted to see for ourselves. It's bad. We will not be returning to this Cracker Barrel anytime soon. read more

I love Cracker Barrel. I love everything about it from the food to the toys to the waiters to the environment, everything was spectacular. Would I come again, yes I would. I ordered the steak with shrimp and for the sides I got mac & cheese and steamed broccoli. Mac & cheese was and so was the steak as soon as I cut it, juice spilled out of it. The shrimp was fresh. Seated right away at 12:00, that's surprising.....water took 15 minutes, almost like it someone had to go out to the well and pump a picture. Be sure to bring earplugs, the amount of screaming kids was absolutely unbelievable. I'm all about family restaurants but geez, bring some candy to quiet the kids. The service was horrible. The waitress never came to check on us. We got refills only when the food came. My pancakes were HORRIBLE. They were over cooked. One was about 7 inches and the other was about 4 inches. Then when the kitchen manager, Bob Rusch brought my replacement out and instead of apologizing, he tells me their pancake size standards. Instead of just saying they were sorry. He was rude. I will admit I was not a happy camper, but I stayed cool and did not raise my voice. Then the general manager comes over and still no apology, just explaining their standard pancake size is 4 inches. To be honest, I don't care the standard, just need to be the same size. I tried to explain that and for some reason they did not understand the concept. The GM was making excuses that all the cooks are new and in training. Needless to say never again. read more
