He was reasonably priced per hour compared to others who's whole business is to put pre-fabs together, yet wanted to charge their full price for BS reasons they claimed as potential "quality" or "liability" issues when half of the job was already put together. We immediately liked and trusted him based on his professionalism at our first meeting, when he came out to our property, inspected the areas, and then, a few days later, presented us with a quote. His quote was HALF of what other contractors had quoted us for this work, which does not mean his work was anything less than perfect. Robert was on the job every day M-F for 5 weeks, showing up when he said he would. He worked with us to select appropriate fixtures and fittings for the bathroom and provided options when what we'd chosen didn't work. As anyone who lives in Arizona knows, having someone who can drywall AND match the random texturization the builders loved to throw onto walls is difficult, yet Robert is an expert in both of these things. Not only did he fix what we knew needed attention, but he also uncovered a few things we didn't realize were issues and fixed them accordingly. In the den, Robert reinforced an entire wall, ran new electrical lines, installed recessed lights, and soundproofed and re-drywalled the ceiling. He found some mold from an old leak in some of the baseboards and fixed it safely and quickly. He installed new French doors and a new door leading into our laundry area. In the laundry room, he removed a poorly executed DIY shelf, sink, and cupboards and gave us a beautiful, effective new storage area. Again, he replaced drywall where it had been damaged by an earlier leak, and even popped open the ceiling between the first and second floors to make sure the "old leak" was indeed old (it was!). From the laundry room, he removed an awkward inward-facing door, built a new door frame, and installed a beautiful barn door. Again, he moved electrical from an unusable space to one that made way more sense. The bathroom went from an ill-fitting tub/shower insert enclosure to a beautiful, fully tiled, glass-door walk-in shower with a built-in nook. He redid the floors with a beautiful tile job, installed a new vanity, a new toilet, and new electrical for a lighted mirror and a recessed light above the shower. All this work was completed in about 5 weeks' time to allow us to get our mom here quickly when she needed it. We cannot express enough how much we appreciated the work Robert accomplished for us, and we encourage anyone looking for quality, fairly priced, and professional work done in their home to contact him. We've got our next set of projects tee'd up for this coming Fall and can't wait to see him work his magic in on our upstairs bathroom and terribly awkward storage closet.

I hired Joey to install doors and baseboards at a new construction job site. He did great at…read moreinstalling the doors. I had Joey measure the doors and the baseboard to ensure he had everything he needed. There was a bathroom door that he said was the wrong size and that he couldn't install. However, I was able to hire someone else to install this exact door. When it came to the baseboards, you could tell he was not experienced in this area. He is unable to make cuts for inner corners and instead smashed the two pieces of baseboards together and had them overlap each other. When I asked him to correct this, he refused to do so and said that is how baseboards are installed and he's never had an issue or complaint with the way he installs baseboards. I asked him if he could make 45 degree cuts and he explained you only do this on outer corners and not inner corners. He said he can go out and caulk them but that I would need to wait till the end of November which is 1.5 months out. And blamed it on "bad communication" because I didn't explain that I wanted the baseboards installed the "other" way and "this is how it got done".I have never seen baseboards installed so poorly and never expected that there was a way where you smash and overlap baseboards. I also brought up how the door trim is pulling away from the wall and he explained that it's because the door trim is not painted. I also brought up how there were small pieces of baseboards missing near the doors. The cuts around the clean outs in the laundry room were also done very poorly leaving very chopped edges. After the back and forth and repeatedly asking if he could go back and fix it he said he didn't feel comfortable because I would "have a problem" with whatever he did. This was after I paid him $5,000+. Subsequently, I made five refund requests, all of which went unanswered as Joey seemed to have vanished. It's important to note that I sought a refund of only half the total amount, as I intended to use the funds to hire a more skilled professional capable of performing proper mitered corner installations. This entire experience is regrettable, reflecting poorly on Joey's integrity and work ethic. It is an unfortunate instance of a contractor failing to take pride in their work and refusing to collaborate in a timely manner to address issues. All the attached pictures depict the results of his work, which he deemed "completed."
