Overnight Lodging [Wendover UT] This was another one of those stays where we arrived late and checked out early the next day. The room is basic as basic can be. We checked in at the front desk around 8:30p and left shortly to look for a place where we can get dinner. We had 2 Queen beds in our unit. Our room was clean and bed comfortable. No bed bugs. Stayed only one night, if it had been more we would have left for another place. The guy at the front desk maybe spoke two to three words to us on check inn. the check in area is so old and worn down, it needs some serious TLC. when we went to our room we were a bit stunned, the room was fairly clean, but I refused to walk in my bare feet. the vanity light would only work if the bathroom light was on, and the light switch isn't even all the way onto the wall. The bathroom itself was pretty gross, chunks of the wall were gone, the tile floor was disgusting mess. mold around the tub near the floor. I'm pretty sure someone tried to clean this room but its so old it's a bit hard to. there were candy wrappers under the bed, the carpet used for a baseboard was coming off the wall. There was floss in the drain, left it there as I didn't have gloves to try to take it out. Overall, I would never, ever stay here again or recommend this flop motel To my worst enemy. Luckily we live about 2.5 hours away from home so there was no way i was going to shower in there, I'd be afraid the rub may fall through the floor. This place either gets an entire new everything, or it should be bulldozed along with everything thing in it. The one and only thing we found is it is quiet, and the TV was top notched. i stayed their in sept 2023, the housekeeping does not change the sheets i don't think they were very dirty and the staff won't do anything about it, i stayed here before and checked in late about 3am in the morning, the lady working their was very helpful , when i came back to the office, i told her about the dirty nasty filthy room, she gave me another room and that one seens to be better than the other one, i was ready to ask for my money back, she said she cannot give a refund, i asked her what happened to the older guy that works nights, she said he was fired, the reason because is slightly disabled and can not stand for long periods of time to do hotel laundry, i asked why dosen't the housekeeping do laundry, she just said i don't know,i asked her if she knew the first room i looked at had a lot of bed bugs, she said she will tell the manager . angelo d. read more

Worst first but there are so many things wrong. First I'm an REHS (health inspector) and room 226 has bedbugs. I only found one shed skin in a drawer the night before, and none behind the bed board, so exhausted I put everything into the non-leaking side of the bathtub to be safe. Good thing, as I woke up with a bite. I pulled the sheets off and there are blood stains on the mattress. I searched the seams of the mattress and found two dead bedbugs. The mattress and box springs have no sealed covers. Sheets are stained; lights disabled/don't work so you can't see at night. The heater makes an awful racket interrupting my sleep each time, and despite being Saturday you will get woken by many diesel mine trucks at 5 am. I had the only window screen, but it was ripped and flapping in the wind. No coffee maker, fridge, or microwave. Couldn't get hot water at 8 am. Due to lack of sleep I missed whatever the pass for breakfast, but the coffee was water. First and last time in a Knight Hotel read more

Fans in the bathroom don't work, the floor wasn't vacuumed, mildew and water damage in the bathroom

Place is a total dump. Stayed the night because I had driven through 2 states already and it was getting late. The surrounding hotels look nice, but then there's this dump. Right next to a car junk yard and an open lot, so there's glass and broken down cars everywhere. Got inside and it looked so bad. Not up to date in the least. The TV didn't work, our hot water lasted maybe a couple minutes, bed was hard, pillows were flat. Door barely closed. Top didn't lock, so you had to use a chain. It was just super sleezy. Perfect place to partake in illegal activities. You get what you pay for. Beware. Stay away if you can read more

We checked out immediately due to the door not locking or closing all the way, the smell of vomit hitting you're face when you stepped in and the rudeness of the staff. There were large objects that had been dumped in the parking lot and cars that had been abandoned with their tires slashed. We tried to give it a chance since some reviews were good but overall did not feel safe. They were trying but just not up to par. Booked through hotels.com and refunds are none refundable. Edit: Posted the same review on Hotels.com where I booked my room and they emailed me saying they wouldn't accept or post my review. Kinda sketchy. This hotel does not deserve its 3 star rating. Try best western down a bit more. read more

I've traveled the world over and have been in some sleazy, run-down flophouses in East Asia, and this hotel is worse than any of them. The owner insisted we pay in advance, non-refundable, and could make such a demand because there was nowhere else to stay due to the races at the salt flats. It's dirty, run-down, noisy, has bad wifi... the list goes on. There was a huge bag of trash left right outside the door of our room, oozing nameless muck all over. Upon arrival, a red car waited outside for me to check in. It made me uneasy and I felt like the driver was watching me. At check in, the clerk, David, gave me a room key for 218. He claimed that the printer was broken, so I was unable to sign anything indicating I had checked in. He said he would fix the printer and I could sign at check out the next day. I moved my car closer to the room and parked. The parking lot was poorly lit. I went to room 218, and the red car drove alongside me. The key card did not work for 218, the lights didn't even turn on. I went back to the front desk, and the red car asked me if I needed any help bringing my stuff into the room. I said no, and he drove away. I went back to the front desk, and he gave me another room key for room 119. I tried to open the door, and again, it didn't open. I felt very unsafe and frustrated, so I went back to cancel my reservation--I did not want to stay at the hotel. David said he couldn't refund me because I booked through Orbitz. The printer still wasn't working, so, again, I was unable to sign anything. I left the hotel and stayed elsewhere. I contacted Orbitz to refund me, but after they spoke with David on the phone, he claimed that I "had been in the room for 30 minutes and he was unable to refund." He also mentioned to Orbitz that, "If [she] felt unsafe, [she] could have asked for a different room." I didn't even GET in the room! I am beyond irritated! read more

This is rated as a 2 star - hotel. It isn't. At best, it's a 1. Free Wi-FI ???? It worked for about two hours. I had to ask for the wi-fi password which was written on the key envelope in blue sharpie. The TV channel line up wasn't. I didn't drive to Wendover to watch TV but when I wanted to watch it, it would have been nice to have had all the channels listed on their provided card. My wife took a shower, I decided to pass. The water went cold on her. This was just a quick week-end excursion to see the Air Museum and a car show. This motel, well, I'm done. Not a happy camper. read more

While on a cross country drive, I was feeling a sudden jolt of energy around 10pm, and I told my honey that we could make it a few hours further. We drove past all the welcoming hotel signs in Salt Lake City Utah and continued on. Two hours later, and we still hadn't seen any signs of life, and then suddenly, Wendover, UT right at the Nevada border. The GPS showed a plethora of hotels and we were excited to crash for the night. After checking with hotels up and down the main road (Wendover Blvd) and even across the border in Nevada, we could not find any vacancies. We were in the middle of nowhere, so we couldn't figure it out. Why were there so many people here? We hadn't seen any life forms for 2 hours at least since the outskirts of Salt Lake City, and nothing appeared to be up ahead except Elko, Nevada (another 100 miles ahead)... Feeling desperate, we went back to check with hotels, seeing if by any chance a room had opened up. When we went to Knights Inn, we were told that yes, a room had opened up. We quickly paid and headed to our room...Thus began our night of HELL in Wendover. At this point it was well past 1am and in the parking lot of the hotel, several men were smoking, drinking, and just sitting outside. Some had parked trailers in the parking lot and we just relaxing outside their trailers. Not a big deal. Loud, but I was ready to crash, so it was fine. I parked the car, walked into the room, and almost threw up. I couldn't see any crime scene tape anywhere, but it must have just been removed. The room smelled like death and there were scary stains on the carpet...And yet, fatigue overwhelmed me, so I locked the door, and headed in... I attempted to shower, but I have never been in a creepier bathroom or seen more rust stains on a shower. Plus, the holes in the wall might have been giving some peeping Tom a perfect view, and I wasn't in the mood to entertain... The bed was disgusting. The sheets didn't smell fresh. They were stiff and stained. I felt vile even touching the bed. But that ended up being fine, because I spent the night staring out the window and yelling at the random men who repeatedly tried to break into my car. I don't have a nice car, but it was packed with all my worldly goods, as I was mid-move to SF. After a highly stressful and sleepless night, and several shouts of "I'm gonna call the cops" to the men attempting to break into my car, we left Wendover at daybreak. Only when I called my mom to reveal the events of the night, did she inform me that it was the middle of Bonneville Speed Week and that Wendover was the nearest town...which explained all the hotels being filled. Nonetheless, I wouldn't wish a night in the Knights Inn to my worst enemy. And I would not stay there again unless I had a loaded gun, no conscience, and was willing to spend the rest of my days in prison. read more

Cheap. In every sense. This was a Priceline booking: we needed a bed and a shower in the middle of the night and didn't want to pay much. That's what we got. A port in the storm, folks. The casinos over the border in NV were not offering up cheap rooms to passers-by like they do in Reno. So this is where we settled. Greeted by a green, slightly-confused, rather annoyed overnight guy. Upon entering the room, we noticed a scrawled note on the back of the door from a previous customer, warning us of unrequested wake up calls from the staff an hour before check out. So we unplugged the phone. The room seemed to have been half-ass remodeled in the 90s. Plenty of stains everywhere, including one chair not worthy of my butt. BUT the sheets were clean, the shower wasn't disgusting, and we were granted a second scratchy child-size towel on request. All linens at least smelled clean. No bedbugs. There was a loud and frequent metallic squeaking coming from the roof of this or the neighboring motel that could be heard in the room with door closed and curtains pulled. The day time staff was enthusiastically friendly as we ate our complimentary breakfast right in front of him. Menu: Cheerios, Raisin Bran, toast, juice, and coffee. Plus, water from inexplicable bathroom sink in lobby. Fox news on the tv. Bottom line: how tired are you? How little do you want to spend? How clean is clean enough? There's a Motel 6 next-door that can't possibly be any worse than this place. When I wasn't smelling the dinner of the staff (a STRONG curry), I was smelling old beer or smoke in a non-smoking room. Then there was the fact that they had rented out half the place to a bunch of underage kids who were publicly drinking. I was too tired from driving 700mi that day to call the police... but seriously... wow. Oh, and they definitely lie about their rates (advertised $35, paid closer to $50 pre-tax, pre-fee). One side of the building is well lit and has plenty of parking, the side we got was rather shady and sketchy with little parking. I was woken up at 430am by a paint van parked outside our door with two men speaking very loudly to one another and opening and closing doors... This happened for 5 hours, until 9am. Do not ever stay at the Knights Inn in Windover Utah. The sheets were filthy and we had to change them ourselves, twice! The room was filthy. The carpet was frayed and stained. The bathtub was flexible to stand on. The shower sprayed water up to the ceiling. The management does not speak English well and will not deal with you politely. The bathtub was dirty and the toilet leaked and drained every 15 minutes. Management refused any kind of refund. It was just awful! read more

I experienced illegal and discriminatory practices during my recent stay in regards to my service dog. Now the owner claims that the event never occurred after speaking with the desk clerk in question, obviously covering his own butt. The beds were creaky and all linen had stains on them. We brought our own pillow so didn't have to worry about lice at least. The toilet kept clogging. Everything was half broken and falling apart. The worst was the "breakfast". The juice machine was broken. The toaster only lightly warmed things and then wouldn't work. The only thing left in the sweltering lobby was cereal and warm milk. Do not ever stay in this hotel. It is filthy. It is dirty. The toilet in my room had a leaky flapper valve. It did a mini flush every 5 1/2 to 6 minutes, yes I timed it. They came in three times to try to fix it. At 10:30 PM, I finally called and said I wanted another room. They were sold out. The whole town was sold out. They said I could check out and they would return my money then. I had nowhere to go. Had to work with the auto flushing toilet all night. I got caught up in a snowstorm on my way to Salt Lake from San Francisco. We decided to stay at a hotel instead of driving through in the snow. We decided this in Elko so we were able to book online. Knights Inn was the cheapest we could find online, $40 per night. We booked through the Knights Inn website since it was cheaper than both Expedia and when we called. This Hotel is on the Utah side and while driving through the town you can see the split between Nevada and Utah in quality of buildings. Knights inn is no frills. There are shabby blankets on the beds that you try to get to not touch your skin all night. They are also too thin since the heater only put out moderately warm air all night while on the highest setting. The beds are a little hard as well as the pillows but I slept well over all. Also, don't expect a lot from the breakfast in the morning. The cleaning crew also slacks a bit. While there was nothing dirty obviously, we did find a drawer full of open bags of chips and cookies. Overall, while only 2 stars, I would stay here again in a pinch. Next time though, I will just show up since there was a sign down the street for $35 rooms on the Nevada side and book online outside to get a better rate. read more

I would give a zero if possible. Please read as this is not knit picking. The place is infested with roaches. It's not a "basic" hotel it is very run down and low lit so you do not notice. The picture attached is of a roach I found in the bathtub. Nice enough so was the empty cigarette pack which help give prospective to the size the bastard who was big enough he should be paying to stay there. They gave me another room. The floor was moldy and gross. The room smelled horrible. Tried taking a shower and the handles wouldn't work. Walls, roof, and furniture were all stained, sticky and just gross. This is not a basic hotel this place is run down and should be torn down. Yes the tv was old but worked perfect. The lights are all super dim, probably to hide the room, the people I talked to said the breakfast was just toast and butter but I did not confirm because of the final surprise this place gave me. While putting my kids to bed there were even more roaches in the bed. I left. Wyndham should pull their name as I won't continue to use their hotels after this. Stay at the motel 6 next door. Simple but perfect. We needed one night to stay while passing though and I was pleasantly surprised especially for the affordable price we paid. It had everything we needed for our short stay. It was very clean and even smelled clean, no scent of smoke from other rooms. The rooms are spacious and have a good atmosphere to them. The beds are comfortable and the staff is kind and accommodating. Breakfast is simply cereal but we didn't need much more. I'd definitely stay there again and recommend this place to others. read more
