This casino has a special place in my heart. I've spent a lot of them here and the staff including the dealers, pit bosses, servers, bartenders, custodial staff are all the kindest and most welcoming people there are. I'm usually here to eat and play, and this place has a lot of good variety of yay or games and slots that rotate (both physically and with introducing new games) The casino is always well kept the renovations they have done have really livened up the place! read more

I asked a guy that works at rainbow outside if he would pretend I was messing with him. I did the flinch trend at him. If would have said no I would never have done it. I'm 60 he was young. It was for fun. I got escorted out and banned because he lied and said I racial profiled him and racially slured at him. Video shows me lunging at him? This was innocent fun not at all how it looked. From the outside, this is the brightest, most well-lit parking lot in town. For what other locations lack in intense lighting, the Rainbow makes up for it and then some. Inside, it's still bright and cheerful with lots of energy. My friend and I spent a bit of time at the craps table. Most of the dealers were really friendly, energetic and interacted with the guests. There were a couple that were less engaging but overall it was a positive experience. read more

OMG worst hotel in the world! Receptionist extremely rude. Room horrible. No hot water, sink to the bathroom in the living area, you open the door and it hits the closet hangers. They said it was $157 but came out to $250... not clear how that math worked? I ask several times to print an itemized sheet, but no they couldn't until you check out. Typical casino hotel with all the crazy carpeting and mirrored room with horrible lighting. I get free rooms here so that makes it doable. Pillows and mattress are comfortable but they give you a sheet to sleep with! I don't care if it's 100 degrees outside, I need a blanket! Casino is fun because they have the table games I play unlike Montego bay but I prefer that property over any of the casino hotels in wendover. But getting back to rainbow. We have been coming to the Rainbow for years and as one of the "Big 3" hotel/casinos in Wendover, NV. it is one of our go-tos each time we are in town. The Rainbow which is owned by Peppermill is one of three casinos owned by this company which also includes the Montego Bay hotel/casino. Each has their own theme and the Rainbow sits at a solid number 3 in the lineup in our minds. The decor has been somewhat remodeled over the years and it has been transformed into a nicer property. We love the casino here and enjoy playing Blackjack with many of the friendly dealers here, however our passion is Video Poker and we spend hours at both of their video poker bars chasing the Royal flush! We have become friends with long time bartenders here and always stop to say hello to Alfredo while we play. The hotel has also been remodeled over the years and they have added nice amenities to their rooms. Just ask for a room closer to the casino if possible or you'll find yourself having to walk miles to get to and from the casino. Be sure to sign up for their player's club card which works at all three of their casinos to earn comps for food and hotel stays! Highlights for us include the cabaret music stage in the center of the property, with a great lineup of music and a large dance floor to dance along. We also love the Video Poker bar all along the front of the stage. They also have a fantastic buffet with a Mongolian BBQ station. Yum! So, I'm not sure what all of the 1-star reviews are about. We stopped here for one night on our road trip, 4 adults, 2 kids, 1 teenager. We booked two rooms and they gave us rooms in the same hall just a few doors away from each other which was just fine. Check in was easy and quick, we loaded up the one luggage cart available and headed up. Our room was totally clean and seemed to be updated. Mini fridge could have been colder but worked fine! Our hall was super quiet, couldn't hear any neighbors. We went down to the pool before they closed at 9pm (mountain time) so we had about an hour to swim. Warning, it is HOT and HUMID in there! No ventilation. I heard another guest complain about feeling dizzy after being in the hot tub plus the humid room. BIG DOWNER, the maintenance people left their storage closet open for all to see and it smelled GROSS. Pictures of that below. Also the pool restrooms had pee and poo stains on the toilet, women's toilet was left dismantled and didn't flush properly. Just gross and ugly to look at. We did not come to gamble or dine, so other than that I can't complain about the comfort and quietness of the room. Overall, just ok! read more

If you want to pay $1820 for 5 nights at a hotel that can't fix an overflowing toilet, won't let handicapped people park their car and travel trailer while checking in (against federal regulations,) can't give you a total bill when checking out, this is your place to stay! The staff is feckless, the napoleonic security "guard," is abusive and incompetent. Front desk personnel have no ability to do anything as "management" has them incapacitated. The "plumber's" only tool is a plunger and he'll spend 45 minutes trying to get a toilet to work correctly. Go to any other hotel in Wendover, but not this onw. read more

The Rainbow Casino use to be a fun Casino where you may go home $300 in the hole . The past five years or so I've put Approximately down on the tables and slots and never won more then $10.00 . It's all computerized now and there is no way you are going to win here . Trust me ! As for the food it's double the price of the restaurants and the rooms which are not bad come with a lot of hidden fees like resort fees , admin fees , Etc . My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary last night & were able to book a room with a hot tub in the room. Luckily we were offered a free room! We arrived to check in & the staff was very friendly. We got came up to the room & the housekeepers seemed like they were taking a break in our room. We laughed it off & didn't think too much of it. We got in the room & realized the door didn't lock. My husband is 6'4 so I felt pretty safe & since we didn't have our kids I disregarded it. I checked out the bathroom gross. the mirrors were dirty the door was dirty. very unsettling. We played the slots for a few hours & came back up to the room. We were excited to try out the hot tub, sadly it didn't function properly and literally shot water out of the tub wet my side of the bed, my pillow, our hotel room phone & my charger. The hotel room phone inevitably was out of order so I called the front desk from my phone. Maintenance was called and arrived shortly after. he resolved the issue but that time we were ready for bed. The follow morning we addressed the issues to the hotel staff at the front desk & mentioned how unpleasant our stay was because Of all the issues. Christina was very rude & firm, "I can offer you free breakfast but you'd have to wait for the manager if you want anything else." Not an apology at the very least. Stopped in to have a meal then play. At the restaurant, we waited 15 minutes to get anyone to acknowledge us, despite staff walking by multiple times. After getting staff attention, the two that what we needed (a table to eat) the staff discussed for 10 minutes where to seat us. There was ample tables available. I was concerned after seeing the one-star reviews, but happily, my experience was not like that. My room is large, comfortable, and clean. The bed is comfy and heat and TV works fine.The shower had plenty of hot water. Have I won lots of money so far? No, but I have more than I came here with. Bimini buffet had plenty of decent food. My buddy and I were booked for a a few nights at Montego Bay and the hotel ended up sending us to the Rainbow Casino. They said they would upgrade our room to a suite and give us a complimentary 2 buffets for the inconvenience but never followed through on their word. We called them and they said they could upgrade if they wanted to but the casino host didn't want to. Absolutely unacceptable. There's 2 reviews here. Our room was very good for the price. We had a "junior suite". That's a room with a large jacuzzi tub instead of an extra bed. It is a NICE tub. As part of a VIP package with a concert at the concert venue, it's great. The Bimini buffet for Saturday brunch is just horrible. Even if the food was good, it's marginally worth the price. I mean.. It's Wendover. You don't come here expecting the Vegas atmosphere. If anything, it's a bit closer to the Mesquite, NV feel. In other words - Less flash & sizzle, more gray hair & dentures. That being said, this place is very clean, easy to get to, and pretty decent service all around. I didn't go into the hotel at all, but the casino seems sufficient. And for a Sunday, there was a fair amount of people here. I'll most likely return at some point, but only because Vegas is a 5+ hr drive, and Wendover is a quick 2 hours. read more

My husband and I went Valentines day weekend. The place was pretty busy, the buffet had a line out the door. You would think you would win with so many people playing. Don't waste your money. No one was winning more than 20$ here and there. The service for drinks was very, very slow. They were busy so I can understand waiting but the staff didn't have to be rude about the drink orders. The room.... First walking in was alright, we had a non-smoking room in the east wing. The smell was pretty clean. The beds are pretty comfortable however our room wasn't clean. There was "personal effects,'' left from the previous guest all over the room. There was a dirty towel hanging in the bathroom like someone just used the shower. There was mold on top the edge of the shower. The room was dusting and the heater was very loud. It was not a restful sleep. With as much money as you DON'T win, you would think they could afford to pay for the rooms to be updated and cleaned properly. I informed the front desk of this information and there was a nice lady that offered free breakfast comp.... Not worth the 150 dollars spent on the room... A bitter disappointment. So, I am not a gambler but I decided to put $20 in the machine and and it says "winner" for the amount of (25)quarters. It pays me out In pennies. For many of us Utah folks, West Wendover tends to be a handy destination when you feel like a quick weekend break. This is no Las Vegas folks! Wendover for those who don't know is a small casino town with an interesting history (look it up on Wikipedia) but it does have several larger casinos and while certainly not really a vacation type place per say, it does have some good amenities and is okay for a quick escape. The Rainbow is part of a chain of three casino's in Wendover. The others are the Peppermill and the Montego Bay. I tend to like the Rainbow the best out of the three. It has better rooms than the other two and is somewhat more easy to get around in general and the casino staff just seem so much more friendly. Plus drink service is very fast at the tables. It also has, in my opinion, the best food options including a buffet, a fairly decent steak house, and a café which while not great is certainly passable for what it is and quick and handy. I don't really play slots, Black Jack is my game of choice, and dealers here are mostly friendly. You get the odd one with attitude, but generally it's easy enough to find space at the more fun tables and certainly the minimum bets are lower than Vegas (generally $5) but people should be aware that, unlike Vegas which is unashamedly a vacation and gambling city among other things, that dealers in the Wendover casinos aren't always too helpful to newbies. In my experience I've seen them give pretty bad advice and people unfortunately tend to trust the house over more experienced players at times. Still, providing you're having fun it's good and like I always say, if you're gambling anything beyond what you can afford as "play" money, you shouldn't be gambling it anywhere! The real trick if you frequent Wendover, even just occasionally, is to get a players card - they are good at all 3 casino's in the chain and allow you to quickly earn enough to get free rooms and food. The rooms are definitely expensive without that, and I strongly advise avoiding the motel dives in Wendover at all costs. Plus it gives you more of that "play" money I spoke of before :) Also be aware - on weekends (Friday/Saturday) you need to book rooms a few days in advance, these places get full quickly. read more

I would not recommend the Rainbow if you come to Wendover. The gaming machines are tighter than tight, the food is way overpriced for the mediocre quality, and I had a cocktail waitress took my order and was gone for 45 minutes before I finally went to the bar and got the drink myself. (It wasn't really busy) The other thing is that it was supposed to be 7 times on comp dollars. After an hour of play and a couple hundred bucks I accumulated a whopping ninety five cents. Complete and total disappointment. The Wendover Nugget is better. read more

The rainbow of all the casino's in wendover tends to be the busiest on the weekends.I believe it is also the largest. as it seems to be the busiest,it has its pros and con's. Pros; because its busier, the slots seem to be quite a bit looser at times.especially during nights with big shows or speed week. It also has the best cabaret lounge in wendover. Peppermill has one,but the rainbow tends to have better bands there. In the cabaret ,If your lucky enough to get Fredo for your bartender,your in for a real treat. I've been a member possibly about two years of Windover and the casino and I gamble here a lot and I wasn't receiving any type of mail or promotion so I went and checked my email and my address and they have the wrong address so I called they said I need to come in person. F-U rainbow casino Checked in and went to our room. No hot water. Not even kinda warm. Called the front desk they said that maintenance would be here in 5 min. 30 min later Mr. happy maintenance man shows up and turns on the shower and the sink and says "I'll be back". He comes back 35 min later (still no hot water) and seems shocked that the sink has filled up. He says "I'll be back". He comes back with drain cleaner. I said "we need hot water, not the drain cleared." He tells me that since I am on the 5th floor I need to be patient. I told him that the shower has been on for 35 min and it's still not hot. He said yeah, sometimes it takes longer than that. I went to the front desk and told him my story. No room upgrade, no drink ticket, nothing. Got our new room and decided to get a sandwich. 2nd street deli in the rainbow casino. 40 minutes for a sandwich. It wasn't crowded at all. Maybe 3 people ahead of me. The woman making sandwiches acted like she has never seen a sandwich before. The 3 guys ahead of me ordered together and they got their sandwiches about 10 min apart. The 3rd guy just got his food and the other 2 left him to go gamble. Again, FU Rainbow Casino. I hope the maintenance guy never gets to shower with hot water. read more

Recently stayed here for a quick overnight getaway, and honestly can't complain. The room was fairly inexpensive, and wasn't anything fancy, but was pretty comfortable. Went to the Rainbow Casino in Wendover to specifically go to the Steak House. We arrived at 6:45 pm and the hostess asked if we had a reservation with a snooty voice and an upturn of her nose...in Wendover NV/UT...in a podunk casino. I poked my head into the restaurant and could see several open tables at the time. I was taken aback by the lack of customer service. I bet if the hostess had asked the serving staff, they would rather have had the potential of tip money than adhere to the "need for a reservation" policy. This our first time staying at the Rainbow, in the past we've stayed at Montego but seemed we spent more time playing slots at rainbow so we went this route for the FunWendover package deal. I thought the room was a classier here but depends which room/wing you get at Montego because we've had two completely different types rooms there (one huge/nice and other dated and average size). When we arrived on a Thurs. night it seemed we had the huge casino mostly to ourselves especially the later it got. Slots were good then too, much tighter on Fri/Sat when alot busier. The good side is drink (free) servers are pretty frequent and enjoy the live loud band. Notice alot of cleaning staff around at times trying to keep up with all the empty drink glasses, ashtrays, wiping down machines, etc which is appreciated. Shuttles are timely, never waiting more than 5 mins. to hop on (unless filled which happens often on Fri/Sat) to go to the other surrounding casinos. Didn't try the buffer since no 2 for 1 coupons for it this visit. Our best dining experiences were at the Prospector Cafe at Red Garter for casual and Pancho and Willies at the Peppermill for fine Mexican dining. The Steak House here has been a nice fine dining experience in the past but even with a coupon plan on spending at least 75.00 or much more if you order apps or dessert and or fancy drinks. Without a coupon yikes! Overall preferred this casino over the Montego, for both slots, layout of casino, room and the fact that it's not quite as busy. Would stay here again. Oh, and must mention the shrimp cocktail at the coffee/pasty bar!!! It must have been a half pound of fresh shrimp meat w/sliced celery and sauce on the side for a mere 3.99!!!! I thought the price label was wrong but only about a dollar more than a muffin for pete's sake, killer deal when they offer it. They offer indoor pool but didn't use. We planned on using the 2nd st. deli/snack bar but with prices same as the Primo cafe for a sandwich it didn't make sense. read more
