I had homework to complete so she could get a clear picture of my home. Or in her words, "So I could get a clear picture of my home." If you believe in thinking from the end, that your home is out there waiting for you with just the right timing, and that universally your picture will bring your home to you - this woman will blow your mind. I started working with Mary in today's market. She knows the neighborhoods with so many decades of experience. I am an interior designer and she knew more about Portland neighborhood and architecture than I do! She knew houses that were built with better quality building materials, flood areas, she looked pointed our needs for electrical, heating, roofing and other home repairs while I walked the homes. To my surprise, it only took a few weeks of concentrated effort to find my home. At some point during the closing process, she allowed property that was legally a part of the property transaction to be removed by the sellers. These air conditioning units were included in the property sale and listed in the MLS and all other communications created by Mary (Redfin, Zillow, flyers, etc.). In fact, in a personal conversation with her during my visit to the home she highlighted the efficiency and effectiveness of these air conditioning units. When asked to return the property Mary protected her clients and made no efforts to return or recover the stolen property. She is misleading, dishonest, and believes her and her clients are above accountability. Stay. Away.

We just closed the easiest home sale we have ever experienced with ByOwnerOregon. We called and…read moretalked extensively with Greg prior to listing, about the various packages and decided on the one that best fit our needs. Greg was very knowledgeable, easy to get in touch with, and patient with all our questions. We chose the package that gave us a custom sign and a professional wooden sign hanger. The forms to initiate the listing took 15-20 minutes to fill out and were very detailed. Plan to spend some time thinking about the information you use in the listing forms. We made sure we had excellent, well lit, photos of our home to add to the listing, and used the description to ensure the features we felt were the best selling points of the home were highlighted. We printed high quality flyers to have in the sign box and available for those who came through for showings. In addition, we had our house inspected by an independent inspector, at our own expense, prior to listing, to ensure the home had no issues that we were not aware of. We fixed the items in the inspection and presented it to potential buyers if they expressed serious interest. I believe this helped everyone feel more comfortable that there wouldn't be surprises later on. We listed and put the house on Craigslist on a Tuesday, had our first showing hours later, and by Saturday were in a multiple offer bidding war. We ended up accepting an offer for $15k over asking, with no realtor commission. We used the form on the website for the purchase agreement, and Lawyers title to close the transaction. Smooth sailing all the way. If you don't mind showing your home yourself, and we didn't, as it gave us the opportunity to show potential buyers the features of our property, then this is the way to go. We would do it again exactly the same way, and are highly satisfied with the result.

We hired Greg for a FULL SERVICE package to sell our home on the coast. The service he provided us…read morewas NOT what he advertises on his web page. Not even close. NO CMA! no tracking or follow through when the house wasn't selling, no advise on how to lower price or strategies to move it, took 4 request just to get a sign from him then he charges you for postage. He had No knowledge of the coast market and did not update our listing to reflect he was providing " supposedly" full representation so local agents ignored us. We paid him upfront and he was MIA for a majority of our 3 months in his service. He left his office to go a road trip and was out of cell range without notice, and did not return emails, texts or voice mails for several days. (During the work week. He is somehow supposed to provide full service and not work on weekends.) It was a time sensitive matter and we needed his assistance. When we finally reached him he put us off for another 3 days but promised to follow thru at the end of those 3 days. He did not. We called again left multiple messages. When he responded he said he hadn't done it but would that day. NOTHING! When he called the next day he was defensive, angry, and belligerent. It was a total waste of time and money. No apologies just screaming. He's lack of professionalism was disturbing and offensive. You cannot leave a review on his portal to counter the positive ones because he blocks you from doing so. Only good reviews get on. You get what you pay for. Unless you are in a great sellers market and need absolutely nothing from him except to upload your MLS... go elsewhere and save your frustration, time and money.
