My favorite party venue in NY so far. This place is a gorgeous old factory (glass/window/door I think) with tons of space. I've gone here twice for Tiki Disco and both events were so much fun. The DJs and music selection were awesome and the crowd was really relaxed and unpretentious...just a bunch of people looking to dance. I arrived later in the day for both events and had no trouble getting in. The bouncers just smiled and pointed me in the direction of the dancing both times so I'm not sure what the other Tiki Disco review was talking about. Nice features of Tiki Disco included the tent over the dance floor. It's really hot in the crowd of dancing people already so the shade helps. The indoor bar is also a nice shady spot to take a break. There are also multiple bars to minimize lines and a shuttle to take people back and forth to the subway. Definitely one of the better orchestrated dance parties I've attended. :) read more

Few weeks ago while we were at Knockdown Center dancing, someone stole my sisters phone and the entire team was super helpful. From security to the door to management. They knew what to do, offered us anything we may need, guided us through the process, and we catched the person who stole the phone and recovered it! Nicole and Steve were great and honestly saved our night. We party a lot and I come to this venue often, it was one of my favorite venues in NYC even before the event but now I am forever fond of them. read more

My expectations were low when I realized Knockdown is in Ridgewood. I was pleasantly surprised! This review is for the free Deadmau5 show. No clue what the venue is like as an art space. It's a legitimate warehouse feel, especially since Flushing Ave is so industrial. Despite 3,000 people lining up for hours before doors, security and check-in moved smoothly. TONS of bathrooms inside! The vendor stations were well-placed and the lighting was much better than expected. Sound wasn't great, but hey, it's a warehouse. Could Knockdown be Roseland Ballroom's replacement? Depends on if you're willing to make the trip to Ridgewood vs. Midtown. read more

This is an event space. I was invited to a Yoga-tastic electronic music dance party on Saturday June 15th, 13. This former door/window factory is as huge as all the other former factories in the area. It's a helluva walk from the L train at the Jefferson stop, but nothing too crazy for the adventurous New Yorker in my opinion. The area is pretty flat and boring but there are tons of parties going on in every direction as the Williamsburg crowd surges outward into neighboring hoods. The space itself can be setup in any manner the hosts choose, so be prepared for a new experience. I don't know who put this event together, but it wasn't as packed as it could have been. not full at all actually. The crowd was awesome still and the party raged on until 6 am (as all the factory parties in the area tend to). Go have a good time! read more

Wish I could give less than one star. Went to knockdown center for new years. Open bar was advertised for vip guests which I was. When I got inside NO ONE could tell me where VIP guests could friggin drinks. They kept sending me from one end of the venue to the other. Super annoying!!! Then the line to the champagne was so long we could only get champagne once!! There was supposed to be a performance by Cardi B at midnight. No cardi B until almost 2am!! You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Completely unorganized and unprofessional. For VIP I expected wayyy more. Will NEVER return. read more

Pretty cool art scene. It's a shame that it's so far out of the way because I could see half of brooklyns youth coming here. They also need to utilize the space because there is a ton of room for some over the top exhibits if they so chose. read more

God awful acoustics! It was a bummer coming here to see Hot Since 82. I was standing near the back and the sound quality was just awful. If you were standing close to the DJ booth and speakers it was fine, but there were several dead zones throughout the warehouse. I wouldn't recommend it for a music event, but it may be a cool space for an art show or something. I will say that if you appreciate good music and go to these kinds of events because hearing a good DJ on a solid sound system is an otherworldly experience, I promise you won't find that here. HS82 would have sounded better on headphones honestly.... read more

Very disappointed with the staff. The location is absolutely beautiful. I went to check out about renting space for a private event. Was given information by Tyler as far as what time to was okay to go check out the space, and he confirmed that they can rent space for the event I'm planning for. Then meet with Brandon, who gave us a tour, and information on the bar packages. But after I left, it was impossible to contact anyone there again. I have emailed Tyler twice to follow up and to ask my questions that Brandon couldn't answer and I have got no answer in return. Business should not be done like this. Very sad, we really did like the space and wanted to book it, but I will not continue to go out of my way to reach someone to give them my money. read more

This was in a very secluded area. Once we got to the building we could see the trees. It was peaceful and welcoming. It was also free. In the other wing there was art work. I enjoyed the suspended trees but it wasn't a place to stay for very long. A simple visit is enough. read more

Huge venue! Can pack several people in here. I went to Red Bull's Hardcore Activity in Progress music festival here in 2014. They held a few stages in here. A little far out in the neighborhood, industrial/warehouse vibe. read more

REALLY cool event space. Went to an art + concerts event with Parquet Courts headlining. I'm not really used to spending over $20 for tix but this was definitely worth it. It was so nice to be able to walk around during the earlier bands and between sets. Would definitely come here again. I guess like typical venues, drinks are a little pricey. Next time I won't cheap out with $5 miller lites. On the plus side even though the bars were so busy the bartenders were extremely nice. read more

So, large fun place. Sound does suck at concerts, distorted hard to hear the singers in every show we have seen there.we will never go back because to get a cab after a show is a nightmare. Imagine what a NYC street looks like when the subway us out. Thousands of people trying to get home. It sucks me its dangerous me so unnecessary. Will never ever ever ever go there again. read more

This is in regard to the M.I.A. concert... Great venue, lots of potential. Somewhat reminiscent of P.S. 1 but nicer... however, the quality of the sound at the concert was a nightmare. I wish I didn't go. The vocals sounded muffled and at all points I could hear myself talk in a normal voice and my friends, as well... and we moved around hoping for a better quality sound. Horrible acoustics that made me want to play the songs on YouTube while she was performing live. No alcohol to drown your sorrow... Plus the concert was over in less than 2h. So not worth it! read more
