I loved the unexpected touch of Swiss cheese, which added a nice twist to a classic dish. The hollandaise was a little on the sour side, but the bacon was cooked perfectly. The biscuit and gravy was the real star of my meal, so good that I almost wish I had ordered it as my main! Definitely getting that next time. My husband went for The Big Ass Sandwich and loved it. Fair warning- it lives up to its name. It's big, it's messy, and it's absolutely worth it. He said the same thing I was thinking: we need to come back. I love the set up of the main dining room. I'm always a fan when you can see the kitchen preparing the dishes from your table. Hill and vine pairs their excellent food with some amazing local wines. We tried the William Chris to pair with the pork chop (which was excellent). We started the meal out with the mahi ceviche. What a flavor bomb! Highly recommend. Service was perfect. Attentive, but not overly so. I always think the price is very fair considering the quality of ingredients and the care put into the dishes. Will be back for sure when in the hill country.

We had Kristen as our server, she was so attentive and sweet. To start we tried the sweet cornbread, lavender mint lemonade, and regular lemonade. The lavender mint lemonade was one of the best drinks I've had in a while. For our meals he had the BLTA with fries and I had the avocado and lime salad with tri tip steak. Absolutely stellar food, quality ingredients and great flavors. We had leftovers for sure, lol, something to eat on the drive back to DFW the next day. For dinner, we sat outside and had Jess as our server. She was also really nice, she had quite a few tables and still managed to give us plenty of attention. We had carnitas nachos and the ground beef soup. The carnitas nachos are... unnecessarily large. lol Luckily the soup bowl was very small so I was able to help the boyfriend with some nachos. But my small effort was not enough and he tapped out of the nachos at the halfway mark. Highly recommend the nachos if you have four friends with you. =D This was a great restaurant with a lovely outdoor space. The food took a while to come out, but when it did, it was fresh and hot. Everything tasted ok, but the burger and onion rings, which had been recommended by the bartender, were really good. The bar was well stocked, and the beer was cold. They had plenty of patio seating, and they host live music. The bar area and the bathrooms are in need of some TLC. Parking on Main Street can be a challenge. I went the next day to have a burger and onion rings, but they were out of onion rings. I settled for seasoned fries, which were ok.

As a mom, I loved that there were a couple toddler play areas of the pool for the kids to barely submerge and still play with the water. Somehow I never knew about the art galleries on the other side of Main Street in Fredericksburg and just learned about them from the friendly staff at the visitor center. We stopped by after 5pm when all the shops and galleries were closed already. The door was still open so we walked in. The gallery is small but very bright and inviting. It has decent and diverse selections of paintings and sculptures. A young lady welcomed us in with open arms and a big smile on her face even tho we just wanted to walk around and look. It turns out she is the owner. She was very energetic and personable. She talked to us about some of the paintings and asked which our favorite pieces were. Both of the paintings my friend and I liked were from Russian artists. The owner told us that she found one of the Russian artists b/c she saw her work in a magazine and the other Russian artists is represented by an agent in Cali. How awesome is that?! They also have a website that showcases the artworks they sell. Good art company indeed! I'd totally coming back to this gallery when I visit Fredericksburg next time!
