8/05/25: Visiting from Dallas, TX. The restaurant is right off Main Street. Yes, it is "hidden" and you have to walk down an alley to get to it. Blake greeted me and he was very friendly. I sat at the bar and ordered a burger and fries, chicken wings, and onion rings. They had one cook, and he was pretty cool. This was definitely a "locals" bar, but the staff made me feel comfortable. The food took a while to come out, but when it did, it was fresh and hot. Everything tasted ok, but the burger and onion rings, which had been recommended by the bartender, were really good. The bar was well stocked, and the beer was cold. They had plenty of patio seating, and they host live music. The bar area and the bathrooms are in need of some TLC. Parking on Main Street can be a challenge. I went the next day to have a burger and onion rings, but they were out of onion rings. I settled for seasoned fries, which were ok. read more

We stopped by Hidden Hideaway on Main for lunch and had a mixed experience. Parking is street-only, there's no private lot, but we found a spot nearby without too much trouble. Our server was friendly, but there were a few communication hiccups throughout the meal. We were served bottled water without being told there was a charge, which caught us off guard since most nearby restaurants offer complimentary water. The server also offered chips and salsa as we were handed menus, so it sounded like a complimentary starter, but it's actually $10 on the menu. After waiting about 40 minutes, we decided to cancel the order (which turned out hadn't been entered anyway). Service was pleasant but inconsistent. One of our friends arrived a few minutes after us and ordered coffee right away, but her cup didn't come out until well after ours, and when it did, the cup wasn't very clean. Also worth noting that gratuity is automatically added for parties of six or more, and they don't split checks. We accidentally double-tipped, but the manager was kind and quickly resolved it. On the plus side, the space is casual, dog-friendly, and has plenty of shaded outdoor seating. The food was the highlight. My Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich was flavorful with crispy fries, my husband's Hideaway Burger was cooked well, and our friend's Chicken & Waffles were tasty, though a bit heavy on the waffle and light on the chicken. Overall, the food and atmosphere were good, but the lack of transparency around pricing and a few service missteps made the experience less smooth than it could've been. One of the few places that's open late for cocktails and drinks. It's literally hidden behind another restaurant, but follow the signs and you'll have no issues finding it. There was no hostess at the podium entrance, so my friends and I sat ourselves. Our server eventually took our orders. I ordered a strawberry lemon drop. Ugh it was sooooooo sweet and the rim had a mixture of salt and sugar! Mediocre drinks, but the live country musician made up for it. He had an awesome voice! read more

We came for Sunday brunch and while other restaurants were slammed with an hour wait, we were seated here right away. We did wait a bit for our food due to the brunch rush, but personally I don't mind waiting knowing that it was a busy time and they kept our coffees filled. We sat on picnic tables on the patio, but they also had tables with chairs. They brought out water bowls for the dogs, which we appreciated. The food was delicious. We had the avocado toast and the omelet. Would love to come back and try the French toast. read more

Our food was reasonable. We ordered 15 wings, three sauce flavors. Our friends ordered pickles and onion rings. Portion size was average on all. We ordered blue cheese with the wings and got ranch. Our celery was probably previously frozen as we could bend it together and touch each end without it breaking! Told the server about this when we asked for new sauces. He replied, sorry... he took the two unopened sauces and brought two blue cheese out. Not replacing the third. I know it's petty, but I did not realize that my water would come in a bottle, with no ice. I asked for ice he brought it out. I also asked if there was a charge for the bottle of water. He said yes. It would've been nice to know that before I ordered. We were very surprised at the end when we asked him if we could get two checks for our table, he shared with us he couldn't, it had to be on one rather than cause a scene we decided to deal with it. At the end, we ask if we could get a receipt, he shared the best he could do is to let us come up and take a picture of the screen. The outside is nice but honestly this place really isn't it the waitress aren't nice about the food and what you want . If there is a large group everyone has to be under the same tab no matter what if you go to the bar or if you order from the table. The food is okay the environment is nice but the staff isn't really welcoming to people that are out of town people. We sat at the bar with michael as our bartender at first. He had an issue with a ticket for another group so we got moved over to a new girl and she was SO SWEET! It was her first day when we went but she is an experienced server and you could tell!! :) My boyfriend got a burger and I got a buffalo chicken wrap and yall.... So good. After a day of checking out some of Fredericksburg's fine wineries with a group of friends, there were four lone survivors who wanted to keep the day going by hopping around Main St. At some point the hunger pangs hit and we knew it was probably a good idea to get some food in our bellies. Hidden Hideaway was next door to the winery we were at so we walked on over. It really is hidden being that is not right on the street. It is tucked away behind another building. Walking up we noticed the gorgeous patio with a tree smack dab in the middle. Later in the night, the place lit up for a very relaxing and cozy atmosphere. We also very much enjoyed the live music as well. If you didn't know already, you are allowed to walk the streets with a drink in hand. We walked up and was told there would be a wait which we were not mad about since we did have drinks in hand. Well, our seats became ready almost immediately after so we were told we had to drink up or throw away our drinks. I'm sure the staff was just following protocols, but it was a slight inconvenience. Other than that, customer service was good. I glanced at the drink menu and the Dreamsicle caught my attention. I love drinks with egg whites in it because of the creamy consistency and this drink was perfectly. It was light and refreshing and a nice change from the abundance of wine I had throughout the day. My tablemates all seemed to enjoy their drinks as well. The food menu isn't large at all. I would say it's elevated bar food. I ordered a cheeseburger that was very good. Everyone devoured their food and enjoyed it. This was truly a hidden gem that I am glad we stumbled upon. I would come back when in the area. read more

This was an awesome joint for burgers, fries and a drink. We did have to wait for a seat but seeing it was 7pm and everywhere we went was full. Also there was a 10 minute wait so we're glad we did as we actually received the food quick and drinks as well. I would say this establishment had live music and the staff bust there tails as they seemed to be shorthanded. Once we were seated the crowd showed up and there were a lot of peoples that turned away due to being understaffed. Id visit this place again and try something else than the burgers. read more

I was looking for a restaurant on here, where to eat with my boyfriend after we'd gone to a couple of vineyards. We were pretty hangry. What a GREAT place to hangout! Huge patio with TV's and music. Can't say enough about the AMAZING staff! We went twice and both times were fortunate to have Blake wait on us! His service is without question A+ quality! He cares about his customers and goes out of his way to make sure they are taken care of! Great guy!!! Mike was making drinks both nights and he was awesome too! Great crew!! Patio is very nice but try not to sit under the tree branches. This is the most unprofessional establishment I've ever stepped foot in. There is no management or anyone in charge to be found. The person who is supposedly the manager looks like he's been up all night doing drugs and was extremely rude when we asked about our food and the wait time. It took over an hour to get our food and there were hardly any other people in the place. The drinks were ok, but also took extremely long to get. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The prices for what you get ain't it. Take your money elsewhere there are much better spots to enjoy. read more

The two stars are for the ambience and live music. Hidden Hideaway is tucked back from the Main Street. Seating is mainly outdoors with string lights setting the vibe. Unfortunately, the service and food was disappointing. I ordered the crunch wrap quesadilla with beef and the beef seemed quite sketchy. The fried pickles were the highlight of our meal. The rest of our group of six just thought the food was ok. The big disappointment was service. Our waiter seemed to be in a bad mood from the start. Our table even tried to cheer him up with jokes and kindness, but nothing worked. He even cursed in front of us and had attitude, which ruins the vibe of the entire night. I went for the crispy casadilla with chicken - excellent! Melty but not gooey cheese and tender chicken chunks and mildly spicy. Side of pinto beans that were the best I've had at a restaurant. Beans were in their juice with peppers and large chunks of bacon or pork fat or something delicious - not gross fatty pieces, just a couple tender pieces. Anyway, moderately spicy. Indoor seating is available only at the bar, which had a lively crowd. Plenty of table seating on the outdoor patio when the weather is nice. The hearty BLT consists of two slabs of Texas toast surrounding thick-cut strips of bacon, crispy lettuce and juicy tomato slices. It's tucked away in a corner but have plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors. We sat at the bar to watch the Cowboys play. I can't speak for the burgers that the others got, but my wings were great! Fries and onion rings were good as well. I recommend the mango habanero wings if you want a kick. I usually do not leave reviews on anything specifically local restaurants. However today I called to place a to go order for boneless wings. When I got home they were bone in. I'm a picky eater. I called to go pick up the right order. My boyfriend got off and told me the server started arguing with him. Telling him to be "more specific next time" and she even raised her voice at him. I told them over the phone more than twice "boneless". I'm pretty annoyed as this is the 2nd time this happens in the past 2 months and it id the only time I've called back. Thank God for Hidden Hideaway and their "late night" hours. If you've been to Fredericksburg before you know everything on main streets shuts down super early. It was about 8PM on a Saturday night and was looking for a place to grab dinner with my girlfriends, that's when I found Hidden Hideaway on Yelp. I also noticed they had a check-in offer on Yelp for 20% off your food tab, which just seemed like a sign from the Yelp Gods. The place is outdoors and has multiple TV screens playing sports. The menu is a little small but it has all the popular bar food items you can think of. I decided to order a Ranch Water and the wings. The Ranch Water was prepared just right and it was exactly what I needed on a hot summer evening. The wings were cooked to perfection and out of the two flavors I ordered (buffalo and garlic parmesan), the garlic parmesan were definitely the best.
