She has her own little spa place, and I finally got my appointment, and booked myself a facial for Saturday. But, as I write this review, I have a few reservations on what angle to take with this whole thing. Please read on and please draw your own conclusions. For starters, a formal complaint-getting ahold of Kristen was darn near impossible. She did return all my calls, but I never had an actual conversation with her until I set foot in her spa. voicemail, after voicemail, just to schedule an appointment. I admit, if I didnt have this gift certificate, I would have never bothered going to her salon, out of the mere fact that I had a hard time getting ahold of her. out here, it feels like spas are a dime a dozen, so its not like she's the only one in town. Secondly, her place was nearly impossible to find. I mapquested her, AND went off her directions on the back of her packet thingy, and still had difficulty finding it. Even my boss said to leave early as she is tucked away in a hard to find spot. I have been to old town before, but shes in a part that was difficult to find. I cant hold it against her, but it added to the frustration of her A) not answering the phone, and B) being in a hard to find spot. Finally, after getting to my appointment, I walked in and loved what I did see. She has a great little lobby setup, relaxing and very inviting. Lots of product to look at, clean, organized with all the stuff that makes a spa fun and relaxing. Kristen definately knows what she is doing. I was impressed with her knowledge, and she gave lots of advice. She uses what appears to be a lot of high end products, and clearly is familiar with what works. Even though I booked a minifacial, it lasted an hour. I got a neck and shoulder message, parafin for my hands, along with serveral other treatments. Despite the frustration that I experienced getting ahold of her and finding the place, I found Kristen to be professional, knowledgeable, and worth the trouble I had initially. Even though I do not get facials often, I do plan on returning to see her again for future spa visits.

After following dozens of microblading artist and unfollowing the…read moreones I didn't like, Emily at Nakd Beauty was the last woman standing because of her flawless brow shapes and crispy strokes. Let me tell you. Emily has changed my life for the better and has given me so much confidence. Never in a million years would I have thought a pair of brows could make such a difference! Microblading is not cheap, but it's absolutely worth Every. Single. Penny. I initially saw Emily a year ago. After booking online and making a $50 deposit, I was more than ready for my new brows! Before each session I've had with her, Emily was very clear with pre and post procedure guidelines. It important to follow these because it can directly have an impact on the results of your session. Each session, initial vs. touch up is the same. Once in her room, she maps your brows. This can take a while because this is the most important step! She makes sure you like the shape and will make any tiny adjustment you ask with the most patience out of anyone I've ever met. Once you have your perfect brow shape, she makes recommendations for your perfect brow shade. Once all that has been decided, she applies a numbing gel and lets it sit for about 20 minutes. She usually leaves the room and you can just chill on your phone during this time. Once the 20 minutes is up, the actual microblading begins. She wipes the gel off and it works great but can wear off towards the end. She reapplies the gel once finished with each brow because she does 2 more "passes" aka she goes over the brows a total of 3 times. I'm not going to lie, microblading is bizarre. At first you don't feel anything, but you can hear the blade cutting your skin. By the end, in more sensitive areas you can both feel and hear each stroke of the blade. It's not fun but it's bearable and totally worth it! Once she's done, she sets you up with an after care cleanser and balm. She recommends a touch up session which I had already booked. I had to have 2 touch up sessions about 6-10 weeks apart to achieve the look i was going for and ultimately in my last session, I changed from microblading to combo brow which is microblading and shading. This was so much better for my oily skin! I just had my annual touch up and with a bit more experience and training under her belt, my brows have never healed or looked better! I did follow the after care instructions to a T! One tip I would give is to be sure to thoroughly rinse off all the cleanser! At first I was afraid to use too much water and most likely wasn't getting all the cleanser off my brows which did make a difference in healing. Also, book you touch up at the same time as your initial because her schedule fills up fast! Emily at Nakd beauty is sooo nice and funny and pretty and smart. She has the best personality! Her work is absolutely incredible! She is very clear with the expectations she has of her clients and holds us to the same accountability that we hold her as an artist resulting in flawless brows every time. I would recommend her to anyone looking to get their brows done a million times over!
