For my husband's 56th birthday, I got him a therapeutic massage for an hour with Randy this past Saturday. This was my husband's very first time there -- and it won't be his last. He has been having severe back spasms which all but paralyze him. Recent X-rays show bone spurs and arthritis as the likely culprits. When I made the appointment, it was with Randy's wife, Heather; she was friendly and thorough in answering all my questions -- and she did not sell her husband's abilities short. When my husband came home, I, of course, asked him about his very first massage experience, and he said he literally felt the best he had in thirty years. Money well spent! Which by the way was $65.00 plus tip for an hour. Not bad. He said Randy definitely knows what he's doing and how everything truly does connect. The unfortunate thing is that Randy will actually be leaving in the next few weeks to open up a practice in Beverly Hills (our loss, their gain), but he gave my husband the name of another therapist there (a young lady whose name escapes me, but my husband has her card), with whom Randy has all the confidence in. I don't know why a few women on here would give Randy a bad review, but when I asked my husband if Randy seemed like the kind of guy these women described poorly, my husband said confidently, "No, not at all". Our opinion on that is that people don't really understand massages, pressure points and how everything connects. It's not sexual, it's science -- and sometimes that means digging in one muscle to unlock another. My husband understands that and didn't think anything bad about it-- it's a shame a couple of ignorants try to ruin someone's reputation simply because they don't understand. We highly recommend the experience here -- and if you're having back issues, give Know Knots a try. Wishing Randy and his lovely wife all the best in their new venture. Randy, the co-owner of this business felt very inappropriate in his touch and the things he said. He would move back in forth from what would feel like a professional sports massage to a man trying to make advances on a woman. At first I thought some of what I was experiencing was in my head. I second guessed myself because of the many awesome reviews he had on this app. However as I came to the half way mark I realized what thought was happening was taking place. I quickly realized that I was in a difficult position that I had to be careful about. I was topless and in shorts and poorly covered. We were in a temporary building in a room he was renting while work was done at his location. It was an evening appt. on the top floor of a 2 story building and I didn't want to chance agitating Randy by jumping up and attempting to leave. When the massage ended I tried to keep up small chat as I paid because again I was very aware of it just being us two in this large building. I slyly texted my sister my situation and she called me. I felt like letting him know that someone was looking for me and waiting for me brought me comfort. Every-time I felt uncomfortable I made my body heavy as much as possible while keeping my legs closed which for a shoulder and back massage shouldn't even be a concern. I didn't want to leave this review. I don't want people to know this happened to me. However I have to be more concerned with this not happening to anyone else. When he was professional he was a great massage therapist however I can't overlook the unprofessionalism, the uncomfortable touch. I spoke to his wife and shared my concerns before posting his review. She did her best to explain away everything I said. I did not feel comfortable and will not return. I've been looking for a therapist for deep tissue and sports massage since I moved here in 2019. I came across Randy on Yelp recently after endless Google and Yelp searches, but was hesitant about the therapist going to your home. Know knots has lots of solid reviews so I took a screen shot and kept their info for some time. I finally got to meet Randy today. He's professional and knows exactly where you're hurting badly and works on it. Now that I think about it it's nice to have someone come to your home on your time. I'm used to a solid deep tissue and sports massage and Randy definitely delivered! He went straight to the problem areas and fixed me up! I'm definitely going to be scheduling with Randy now! I had the best massage it was a mixture of the deep tissue, sports, and Swedish massage. The receptionist I spoke with was very nice, knowledgeable and pleasant, she scheduled me the same day and was able to accommodate me for a 60min session. The therapist Randy was amazing. Seriously, Randy is hands down the best when it comes to Myofascial Release! ‍I have extremely bad TMJ to where i am in so much pain to where at night I cry myself to sleep sometimes. Holy Shit! This massage no joke changed my life! Worth every single dollar and then some. I went to Know Knots and Randy with upper-back pain, nerve irritation in my right arm and moderate sciatica in my lower-back and right leg, and let me tell you, those little crappy "Happy Feet" or "Enjoy Massage" hole in the wall massage parlors don't have shit on Know Knots - they know nothing compared to this guy Randy! I came out of the massage sore as a son of a bitch; that's a GOOD THING, don't be afraid a real massage has to get deep to untwist and de-knot those muscles! The trigger point therapy and deep tissue work he did had instant impacts that immediately helped to reduce pain in my arm and back. I bought the $200 4 Massage Package Deal as I DEFINITELY plan on going back for more work! I never even knew the benefits of a real massage. Randy is amazing. I'm prone to upper body muscle spasms between my shoulders, and I'd been dealing with the tightness and pain for quite a few months. As (good) painful as the massage was, I can't thank him enough. I had a 2 hour long massage that started with deep tissue and trigger point for my upper back. I haven't had any pain or tightness since. He's very responsive in the level of pressure you need and adjusting it. I prefer medium pressure, but he can go really firm if that's what you need. He's a very caring individual who will let you choose the music as well, anything you like. That's a big plus for me. The room I was in was small and simple but relaxing and very comfortable. It was also a FULL 2 hours, unlike the places that promise an hour or whatever then dock 10 minutes or so from it. Price is as good as you're gonna find for talent, comfort, time, and professionalism. Needless to say, I'll definitely be coming back. read more

If there was a way to give 6 stars, I would!! First I want to say that I have had MANY massages at high end spas, Chiro/ PT Offices, and also budget Massage Envy massages ... and HANDS DOWN, Randy is one of the very best massage therapist that has worked on me. EVER! I can truly only think of one massage even close to as good (Steve at El Encanto in Santa Barbra, but it's so expensive, I just can't justify returning.) I am on the tail end of a week long rock climbing trip and drove 600 miles back to CA the last couple days ... and I was aching. I had not been home yet, and have been washing up in my van, but had not had a real shower in a week. I was Randy's last appointment, and when I walked in, I apologized for my campfire smelling hair and prickly legs and told him I'm not usually like this, but my neck was killing me and the only thing I needed more than a shower was a massage. I know at the ends of my workday, all I want to do is go home. So I was so grateful and surprised when Randy said he would wait while I showered. I even asked for a razor and he got me one ... and the shampoo and conditioner were so yummy ... not grocery store stuff. After a heavenly and much needed shower, I would have been happy with even a mediocre massage. But instead ... BEST. MASSAGE. EVER! Randy clearly knows his muscles and techniques. His massage isn't just relaxing strokes (which is nice too) but he has a wonderful way of combining deep tissue and trigger point to knots while at the same time, combining soothing strokes. I like deep tissue massages with very firm pressure. Usually I get massages that aren't quite deep enough, or to go deep, it's all elbows. Randy has strong hands and great technique and delivered the very first massage I didn't have to ask for deeper. And surprisingly, while the pressure was deep enough I never asked for more, I didn't have a single stroke that was too deep. Perfect perfect perfect pressure. Randy, I assume you read your reviews ... I want to tell you a very sincere thank you for going above and beyond with your hospitality when it was almost time to leave work, for an incredible massage that was truly better than I have ever had (and I have a lot to compare you to) and for your good energy and nature. I have chronic neck/shoulder back tension from working in the dental profession for almost 10 years now. I recently found a knot in my lower back and realized I need to get back into an exercise /stretching routine. Because my body was so tense trying to workout was a challenge in itself. I decided to make an appointment for a massage. I read a helpful Yelp review that a good friend of mine wrote. She's a dental student with similar chronic pain so I gave this place a shot. Randy gave me a 1.5 hr massage. He made me feel comfortable offering water/tea, asking if I was warm/cold ( he offered a blanket during the appt because I was cold), if I needed to use the restroom and offering a robe, making small talk fr time to time so things aren't awkward. Chatting in the beginning was a good distraction so I wouldn't focus on the tense muscles being worked on. The massage and stretch itself was exactly what I needed. He applied pressure on the knots and had firm pressure when massaging muscles. He was mindful and asked permission before proceeding with doing anything if he wasn't sure I'd be okay with it or not: disrobing at my comfort level, had my bra on but later had it off when he was working on my back, asked if I wanted my pants on or off when stretching out my legs. I wanted them on so he excused himself from the room to give me privacy. After the massage I asked if I should do anything in particular and he recommended a few stretches to do. The only con I have is that it was just him and me at the office. It was a 7-8:30p appointment. Randy is a professional, non threatening family guy. However, for peace of mind I'd rather have 1 other female employee around. With that said, I would definitely be coming back but earlier in the day with staff around and when the neighboring offices are open. I had a good night sleep and could tell a difference in my body's range of motion! I feel awesome and my expectations were reached with what I wanted to get done here. read more
