So many events take place in this older, but huge arena. Last night, my family went to a Lady Vols…read morebasketball game (where they whomped UT Chattanooga!). We wandered around for about 30 minutes prior to the game trying to find a ticket booth that was open. Once we found our way inside, the space was clean and easy to navigate with many friendly staff. Likely due to the holidays and many student workers being out of town, the usual experience was greatly pared down with no band, dance team, halftime show, etc. We still had an amazing time! The music consisted of all of my 90's/early 00's jams and lots of fan interaction with the MC and Smokey the mascot. There are suites available and the seats in the "normal humans" sections are padded and comfy, all with pretty decent views. There are areas to purchase UT gear and an abundance of concessions to be nom'd (Papa John's, Petro's, snocones, pretzels, etc. You can use credit cards and prices seem pretty typical. They event have $1 large popcorn which was great, but a bottle of water was $4. ha! Don't forget to bring approved, clear bags when you go to the arena (or any of the large university venues/events).

The set up, the acoustics, the ability to perform in a unique way. The theatre itself is in-the-round, which I'd only seen at a concert. It was great! The performers were coming in and out of performing up and down the aisles. It added an extra element of surprise, not knowing if they'd enter right by you, or you could see them entering across the theatre, before others knew it. The in-the-round also provided an interesting take on the acoustics. The sound was not just coming directly at you the entire time, but it was able to ebb and flow. Made me wonder if some theatre directors plan for that, and coach their actors to utilize that option. Looking at the line up of shows, there's a wide variety of performances. From contemporary, historic, and local shows, the space appeals to any and all!

Badgett Field is located in North Knoxville off Western Avenue near Victor Ashe Park. The complex even has a sand volleyball pit. Out door seating and a service kitchen, Dog8 Grill and Snack bar. The Dog8 Grill and Snack bar has an alternating menu offering gourmet food and beers by the can. The fields are decently maintained and the staff is friendly and easy to work with. I wouldn't be surprised if they did because that was the most people I have ever seen at a collegiate soccer game. There were programs, signed pics of Smokey, orange and white Pom poms, t-shirts for first 500 in line, pic opportunities with Smokey 10, bounce house, concession stands, food trucks (Goodwins). Overall, lively atmosphere and a lot to see and do. Parking and accessing stands was easy and cost to attend was free! Can't get much better than that. We sat in the second row up (you have super obstructed views of the field in 1st row) due to small kids who don't do stairs well. I would recommend 4th row and up if you can with so many people walking and stopping in front of you. Very family-friendly, with the exception of no mask mandate for kids in the crowded bounce houses. Can't wait to come back!

Strayer University is awesome! I started as a campus student at Strayer but due to being a single…read moremom with a hectic schedule and no sitter, I had to switch to Strayer's online classes. I was really nervous about the switch at first but the dean and advisors were so helpful and understanding on how hard it can be for students to balance school, home life and work, they truly made the transition a breeze. I have found all my classes at Strayer to be both thought provoking and intellectually stimulating. All in all, I couldn't be happier with my experience at Strayer and I am honored to be able to say I have had the privilege to attend such a fine University with a team of the most caring, understanding and motivational professors and advisors (Academic, admitting), that encouraged and supported me every step of the way; which gave me the strength to achieve my degree even in the most trying times of my life.

Our "Coast to Coast Road Trip" has taken us to a number of play areas. This is one of the best, or…read moreat least most captivating, we've come across. Our two-and-a-half year old played for almost two hours on this magical wooden castle. The only things that keep it from a 5 star rating is the lack of a real bathroom and some of the wear and tear on equipment, particularly the leather ropes that have been worn down pretty significantly. It's sort of off the beaten path, but well worth a visit if you're in the area! MATERIALS: The support posts are all wood, but the flooring material is sturdy, composite all-weather stuff. Wear close-toed shoes, because it's a wood chip ground cover. There's grass on 3 sides outside of the play area. PLAY AREAS: - There's a dedicated Tot Lot for ages 2-5, which has tamer play equipment, and toddler/harness type swings. Our 2 year old is normally cautious about slides, but he really enjoyed the one in the Tot Lot area. - One unique feature was a little xylophone that actually sounded nice. The other musical element (some kind of pipes) has been jammed up with wood chips. Gee, who'd have guessed kids would stick would chips in the holes? ;) - The other, larger play area has a set of 4 'big kid' swings, a tire swing, at least 4 slides (both covered and open air), swinging rings, monkey bars, climbing and balancing ropes, and one of those fakey zipline things (just a rolling hand hold on a short track you hang from). There's plenty of stuff to climb. Our son liked running across the bridge because it kind of bounced around as he ran. AMENITIES: - There are 2 covered picnic areas with tables. - NO BATHROOM!
