She makes sure she added educational aspects to the program, which is really important for me. A camp day is divided into various activities. Ms. Spencer also provides the parents a detailed list of how their day is broken down and a weekly itinerary. They play board games, exercise, do arts and crafts, and learn martial arts every day. Specific days of the week they go on field trips----movie theater, splash pad, museum, nature walks, etc. Oh and dont forget Friday show-n-tell. I had my child enolled at the YMCA before I found Greubels. I immediately cancelled my membership when I found out that my son was sitting on the basketball course at the YMCA for the entire day doing NOTHING despite the catalog-list of activities they "sold" me to get me to sign-up. Switching to Greubels was the best decision I made for both my son and I. Greubels has a small child to coach ratio and really works hard to ensure the program is balanced between mental and physical stimulation. They're always looking for new ideas and ways to provide a more creative environment for the children. I'm not really sure about some of the other reviews on here regarding the camp. It's not physically possible for an adult to be doing martial arts from 6:00 in the morning till 6 o'clock at night---let alone a child. I would encourage others to be cognizant that this is CAMP. Kids in camp are supposed to play board games and color and watch movies and just have fun. Some parents should have expectation management--- summer camp is not the place for your child to be the next fighting champion. So, if additional training is important for you, they should have considered enrolling their child in actual classes in addition to what camp offers as many other parents do--- which is even better because you get a discount off camp. My husband and I both work, so finding a camp that has a balanced program and one that offers early drop off and extended pick up hours (without extra charges) is really important. There are not a lot of options out there, which make Greubals really a great place to send my child. They know my name. They know my son's name and we are ALWAYS greeted when I drop my son off or pick him up. Ms. Spencer even remembered my son's bday 3 months after camp had ended and sent us a note to wish him a Happy Birthday. It was so touching! This year there were a lot of birthday parties and all the kids became friends and celebrated outside of camp too. When I pick up my son, he was always so excited to show me the new moves he learned in class and tell me about his day. Greubels has made my son incredibly happy and that is priceless for me. This had been a great experience for the both of us.

I am originally from south Florida and attending classes at oxygen has made Augusta feel more like home. I took my first class in October 2020 and since then I have lost 25 lbs. I highly recommend trying different classes and different instructors - they all bring a different experience to each workout. My mental health is so much better when I'm working out at oxygen regularly. I can really tell how I feel when I stop making it a priority. Luckily they are always doing challenges with prizes that get me to kick it back into gear!!

I still miss it, and I'll never be able to express how thankful I am for Sifu Kyle's guidance, and as corny as it sounds, joining this athletic club saved my life, I wish I could come back, but I'm so thankful for everything I learned there, and I still reminisce about the great people and classmates that become great friends. It actually became a way of life and I was happier than I'd even been. By the time I left I was in the best shape of my life, and I never once felt like I was working out, I was instantly accepted with positivity and enthusiasm. I learned to overcome my fears, stop my anxiety in its tracks, my depression melted away, and most importantly that I did not have any limitations in the gym, or in life. My 5 year old son went to this class for 3-4 weeks and was enjoying it. After this last class this…read moreweek he will not be back. There was a class of 3 students (one being my son) and the other two ran out after class and told my father that my son got in trouble in class and "was taken to the bathroom and held upside down over the toilet." He asked him on the way home what happened and he told us a bigger student was laying on him and it hurt so he pushed her off and screamed. The "instructor," Josh, THE OWNER OF THE STUDIO, then put his hands over my sons mouth and told him not to scream. My son then said he took him to the private bathroom and held him upside down over the open toilet and told not to scream and hold his breath because he was going to dunk him. Not knowing if this could possibly be true, I called the owner/"instructor" to discuss. I asked if anything happened in class today and he said no. I asked if my son got in trouble for pushing a classmate and he chuckled and said oh yeah. He said he puts them in timeout in the corner to take a break (which makes sense to me). I then asked if there is a bathroom in the room and admitted there was. I then asked if he took my son to the bathroom and he said no. I told him the other two kids in the class told us he took my son to the private bathroom. Then I told him what my son and two other children said and he responded very confrontationally and told us we were not allowed back in class and hung up the phone on me. I called the owner back and let him know I would be sharing this conversation in my review and he threated for me to come down to his gym to leave my review in person and hung up again. After I guess he calmed down and realized I wasn't just not going to come to his business again and would be letting others know of our experience with him as an "instructor" and business owner he called back 30 minutes later to try and have a conversation. After two failed attempts, I was done trying to talk to Josh and will have no further communication with him. My son continued to talk about how scared he was and embarrassed. I tried to talk with Josh to figure out what happened calmly, he responded with hostility and aggressiveness. He does not need to be left alone with any child whatsoever. I had previously recommended this studio to many friends and they were interested, we even brough another child to observe a class and she was excited. We now would never recommend this "instructor" to anyone with children. He is supposed to help teach a disciplined sport, he is far from disciplined and is very aggressive.

If you want to achieve your fitness goals with a patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable trainer, Advanced Personal Training is what you are looking for. I have been working out with Zach for one year. My first three months I worked out twice a week; the last nine months I work out three times a week. The gains I have made are noticeable not only to me, but also noticeable to my family and friends. Julie and Joshua have a top notch facility that is so spacious it is more of a monster truck garage than just a normal box. With 10 years of CrossFit coaching between the two of them, it shows in their ability to break down and teach the movements. They are extremely personable and approachable and this encourages a supportive, welcoming group of athletes. There is plenty of equipment to go around including the oly bars, ropes, and rings. Where floor space is at a premium in most boxes, the openness of the space just feels good. I have only been a visitor for a month, but all of the other folks in the gym are just as warm and affable as the two owners/coaches. The sense of community, one of the main reasons I continue to CrossFit, is amazing, and they FREQUENTLY have Saturday WODs in awesome places including Bring-a-Friend WODs so you can introduce your friends and family to being fit. They also encourage social participation amongst their athletes which makes it into the family (or cult) that CrossFit is meant to be. Another major plus, especially for visitors like me, is the paleo meals that one of their athletes is starting to supply for box members. $12 a meal on top of the normal monthly fee, and you don't have to eat the crap (even if it is awesome crap) that most of the Augusta area offers. I have no children, but there is a child sitting service... not quite sure what the deal is for that particular service. There is also Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu collocated with the box. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to take a lesson. I know that if I ever come back to Augusta, I will certainly be WOD'ing with these folks!

That makes such a huge difference. I can really say that this makes my workouts much smoother, it is amazing how one move can make a difference in how an exercise feels. Even today, Josh made sure to let me know that I wasn't squatting low enough, it was difficult for me, however, once I did squat low enough, made that 6lb ball go up to 9 feet much smoother. Julie checks in on how you are doing with emails. Everyone is a great motivator as well. They have patience and don't mind staying after to show you how to do more movements on the pull up bar, gym rings or with weights. Oh, and Josh does all this with a great sense of humor. They have a massage therapist onsite as well, and what could be better than to push yourself with a hard workout, then get a great massage by Susie. The only thing I don't like is the driveway, which they have no control over. It is the intersection of Pleasant Home and Old Petersburg. There is no light for you to pull out, so be very careful!

I was visiting my friend from Atlanta who is part of this box and for the Blood, Sweat and Barbells…read morecompetition that they were throwing in the spring of 2016. Because of my friend, she dragged me to a social with a lot of the coaches and members the day before the competition and I got to experience the culture of the box. The women are healthy, intense yet without the negative stigma that crossfit sometimes comes with, which I enjoy. I mean, it's nice when it's an environment of balance rather than perfection. 'Let's chug a drink and do double-unders for a minute" -- okay, you're normal people. Very open and friendly. During the competition the group was very encouraging in all of the stages, throughout the whole day and welcoming of all the people visiting from other boxes for the charity event. To the gym itself: It's humongous. A huge area with lots of space. A giant rig in the middle no matter if you're a tiny like me or a 6'1" woman like my friends. I'd love to see the box in action during a regular day, because I could imagine it to be a workout energy zone. until the next time, box 706!
