Stopped here because of the reviews, and was pleased with the food. We got poutin, tater totes, and a buffalo chicken sandwich. The sandwich wasn't overwhelming spicy and was pretty good. The tater totes were so delicious with all the flavors. For the poutin, I don't feel quite qualified to rate as this was our first time trying and we aren't from Canada. The service was fairly quick and there's seating in the place as well.

Great ambiance, local. Quiet Monday afternoon delicious food and pleasant service! Stopped in here looking for local poutine and found great sandwiches too. A great stop before our long drive!

Tucked into a small neighborhood street, this burger/Sammie shop boasted such good reviews I had to try it! We were visiting from out of town and wanted some local cuisine. We stayed at a hostel down the street. The parking was so easy as it was right in front of the business. After 6pm on a weekday it's free so it was really easy to navigate. Our server was great and was so friendly. They had a busy day and ran out of poutine, but she was kind enough to ask the cook if he could make a last batch with whatever they had left. We had 2 Sammie's/burgers, poutine and tots. All heavenly. If I lived in the neighborhood I'd definitely come back.

Many great sandwich options as well as sides and salads. Tried the Korean chicken sandwich and the danforth fries. Very big, flavourful, sandwich and was very fresh and delicious. Service was pretty quick. Will be returning to try more of the options! Good amount of seating inside as well as outside. It was quiet and clean inside.

Haven't visited for a few years but was close by so popped in for a Classic Chicken Sandwich Wasn't quite as tasty as I remember and was definitely much smaller, looks as if they're pounding out a thigh instead of the breast and it was a bit overdone; still a pretty good sandwich though which at $14+ it should be Had a Sleemans last time but they have their own lager now - good idea

What a hidden gem along Coxwell. They have a wide selection on their menu, and I went with the classic buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. It did take a bit to get our food, around a 20-ish minute wait, but we were fine with that, and the server was very apologetic. It was a good portion given the price, and I can taste the quality ingredients in the sandwich. It was definitely messy to eat, but that's what ya get with coleslaw in it. I also love the chipotle honey in it. Overall, good food and good quality. I will be back to try out all of the other sandwiches.

A bit pricey but good portion size and good quality. The chicken sandwich had a generous amount of meat (versus bulking up with the breading) and a nice tangy sauce. I would have wanted a less chewy bread and more veggies, but I'm knitpicking. The shrimp roll was pretty good - lots of plump shrimp, albeit would have wanted a bit more kick. The buttery bread though was amazing - really soft and tasty. Overall, a satisfying experience.

My favourite was the shrimp roll and the taters!! The shrimp roll was nice and refreshing with big pieces of juicy shrimp while the taters were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside... tasted amazing with the bacon, chedder and green onions... I would literally go back just for the taters! I found the chicken sandwich okay

Quarantine Day 5: Would you ever buy yourself a knuckle sandwich? I did. Two of them actually. Luckily they did not hurt and they were tasty. The flank steak sandwich had really good quality meat in there. Could have definitely held its own on a salad. The buffalo chicken sandwich was a big behemoth. It was a tad bit spicy for certain bites but the pickles and the lettuce helped cool down. The chicken was still crispy after delivery which was awesome. The salads were surprisingly tasty. I think I could have eaten an entree salad of either one. The candied pumpkin seeds were crunchy and added the right amount of sweetness to the salad. The last side that we got was the poutine. Most of the crunch had left the fries by the time it got to us. It was still a solid poutine. The gravy wasn't too salty and there were a lot of cheese curds for every bite. Finally I appreciated that the UberEats order was all packaged up in sustainable containers - either compostable or recyclable.

Walked in and looked at the Menu board, had a difficult time deciding. Even though the menu is limited there is a good variety and multiple combinations of items to choose from. The cashier who happened to be the owner, George, was wonderful in explaining the menu items and helping me choose. Hubby and I had the following: Fried Chicken Sandwich - This is a massive sandwich! The chicken hangs over both ends of the bun. Nice and crispy, crunchy batter and the chicken is tender and juicy. You definitely get your money's worth with this one because you won't even need any sides to get full. I cut it in half and ate it for dinner later and the outside was still crunchy. Chicago Italian Beef Sandwich - They cook the roast beef rare then dip it in the au jus which cooks it all the way; it's on the bland side. Next time will ask for the au jus on the side so the bread doesn't get soggy. Should also order a side of one of their aiolis (basil, garlic, chipotle) and or use their Sriracha ketchup. Butternut Squash Soup - owner said it had a Thai twist. Savoury and delicious, you can taste the coconut milk and ginger. Kale side salad - if you like kale (hubby hates it) you will love this salad. The paper thin, crispy prosciutto on top was scrumptious! Fries with Sriracha ketchup - weren't oily but a bit dry, the Sriracha ketchup really helped make it a tasty side. Owner, host, server (same person) and kitchen staff were hospitable, sweet and attentive. Warning: the street in front is a very busy street and the only way to park is diagonally and head in. I would recommend coming with a friend to help you spot cars while you back up, or take the bus. Also according to Evo X there's free 1 hour parking on Lankin M-F 9a-5p if you don't mind the walk.

Ordered the shrimp roll and portions were huge, good enough for two people! Love the strong dill flavour and the coleslaw was nice and fresh. The hickory sticks added a nice crunch to the roll. Would love to come back and try the other sandwiches!

We went there last night because of a craving for a sandwich. The place didn't disappoint us. I had the fried chicken sandwich with spicy buffalo sauce and the g/f had the shrimp po-boy. The chicken was cooked nice and tender. The buffalo sauce gave it the right amount of heat. Not too spicy but not that weak either. The shrimp po-boy was very tasty too. We also ordered the tots and Danforth fries. The tots were crisp yet still soft on the inside. The Danforth fries was a nice mix of flavours added to nicely cooked fries. This is a place I would recommend trying !!

Smash burgers in Union Station food hall…read more Went for a walk on my lunch break to see what I could grab to eat that wasn't my usual suspects. Stumbled upon this smash burger joint in the food hall at union station. Located in an array of diverse restaurants I found this gem in the pocket between the bay and york concourses amongst the sea of new restaurant spots in the union station area. Not a huge menu, you got the classic burgers and some of their special items on the menu. Sides include "regular sides" and "premium sides", the premium sides is just a classic poutine. I ordered one classic smash burger combo with water and fries, and one extra burger on the side. (one order of fries is enough unless you plan on sleeping at your desk) The burger itself was good. It all the fixings you would expect in a classic hamburger. Lettuce, onion, tomato, pickles, american cheese and secret sauce. There was something lacking though that for me, didn't hit the spot. Perhaps the burger wasn't saucy enough for my liking? It was good don't get me wrong, but one of those "missing something" moments, y'know what I mean? The fries - decent portion, not five guys good, but still a good filler. Fries themselves were crispy and hot, the seasoning was good on the fries with the sriracha aioli. Albeit I did find the fries a little salty to my taste and needed that aqua to quench my thirst. Overall 7/10 experience - if you're looking for seating there's standing and sitting areas all around union but the space directly in front of the restaurant is a mixed bag and pretty busy during a monday lunch hour.

Unfortunately, I was on a time crunch as I had a concert to go to after, and I'm a very slow eater. I figured I'd have a chance to try a bit more in smaller portions via a kid's combo. But turns out, you need a 12yo/younger child with you to be able to order one. - I get the principle, but there was no option to order a smaller portion via other menu items or combos, and no hate to your staff but they made it a big deal. But it wasn't a big deal. But it became a big deal because they turned it into a thing, discussing among their staff, about how I can't order it because I'm not 12 years old. I get it, it's the policy, why would I ask them to go against it, they're just the employees, not the rule makers. But what child is going to Union station to order themselves a kid's combo! Also!!! How do you know I didn't come with a child??? But anyway. Please consider offering a small non-kids combo in the future for people who don't like ordering large portions. I ended up ordering the classic smash burger. I loved the texture of the burger, it was so moist and the buns were soft. The patty was the perfect thickness. Unfortunately, flavour wise it was extremely salty. I had to wash it down with pop that I bought elsewhere. So disappointed. I really hope this was a one-off. Located in Union Stn beside Mean Bao on the same level as the food court. Closest exit to Scotiabank Arena. There's public seating all around because it's located in a food court.

I ordered a cheeseburger and fries from the super nice, mustachioed guys inside. They listened to classical music while the fryers were going, which was unexpected and quite nice. :) First, the burger. Don't order one. It's wretched. Nasty mass-produced patty, Costco-quality bun, anemic slice of tomato, sad little lettuce leaf. I took one bite and tossed it. On the other hand, the fries were the best I've ever had. I'm not kidding, they're absolutely delicious. They're chunky cut, skin on, and fried a crispy, beautiful brown. I don't care that the generous portion of fries probably equalled twice my daily calorie allotment. I ate every single one. From the other people crowded around the truck, I learned that I should have had the poutine -- it's supposed to be fabulous. They also have hot dogs and sausages, which I hope taste better than their burger. That said, I'm actually looking forward to being on campus again on Monday just so I can eat more of their delicious frites. Yes, I'm crazy. Crazy about the Blue Chip Truck! (Although next time, I think I'll bring a friend -- otherwise, by the end of the year I'll have my own show on the Discovery Health Channel: The Half Ton Grad Student.)
