On Uber Eats, I have seen a number of BOGO offers from Showtime Bistro. I never acted on them until this past Tuesday. I don't normally hang around the Markham Road and McNicoll Avenue area. I needed to check it out. I ordered the following items after completing my errands in Whitchurch-Stouffville: - Pineapple express burger with potato wedges (BOGO) - Showtime classic poutine (BOGO) The app stated that it would take twenty minutes for my takeout order to be ready. It was completed much sooner than that. I got there in twenty minutes. If you are heading southbound along Markham Road, you are hanging a left into a compact set of eateries and businesses. It is a bit tight for two cars to enter, so some caution is needed. I parked in front of Showtime Bistro. I backed into a spot. I then headed inside. I waited at the counter. A woman was in front of me stocking the fridge with canned pop. When she was done, she apologized. I liked her politeness. I stated my name and indicated that I had an Uber Eats order. Although I had the order number displayed on my phone, ready to show her, she asked verbally for the number. I gave her the last three digits of my order. It was ready, on the counter. When she placed it in front of me, it leaned on the plexiglass like the Tower of Pisa. She apologized for the lean. She was so apologetic. I thanked her and left with my paper bag of leaning goodies. I placed this paper bag in a reusable one in my car because it was tough holding a tall paper bag with barely a handle. I was supporting it with my hand under the bag when I fetched it from the eatery and could feel the warmth. I drove home after safely stowing my food. I had the burger and poutine for dinner. I snuck in a couple of wedges because they looked good. I then had the remaining food that covered two meals. The pineapple express burger was pretty good. It had spicy jerk sauce on it. At first, it tasted like a bunch of black pepper, which wasn't interesting. It tasted much better and more flavourful as I devoured it. Perhaps I had stumbled on way too much jerk seasoning with my first bite that it was too much for my tastebuds. It was yummy. My second burger the next day confirmed that it wasn't all black pepper. The pineapple slice was thick. It was sweet and delicious. The burger came with ring onions and pickles on top. The onions were too raw for my liking, so they came out. I had the pickles on the side, which worked well. They were crunchy and enjoyable. The beef patty was delicious. It was juicy and done perfectly. The bun held up well. It wasn't soggy, which I appreciated. I normally don't like potato wedges because they are typically boring. These were great. They had subtle seasoning, were crispy on the outside, and creamy inside. They tasted good the following days when I crisped them up before consuming them. I had some creamy dill sauce from St. Louis Bar and Grill. Dipping the wedges in this sauce was heavenly! The classic poutine is a generous size. I was pretty hungry on Wednesday and ate the entire thing. The gravy was yummy and rich in flavour. The cheese curds were perfect. I got a generous number of them in each poutine container. The fries were good. I'd get poutine here again. This eatery was a decent find. I'd return to try the wings and Ferrero Rocher milkshake. (85)

Good customer service, food is a little saucier than I like, but most people seem to like the sauce. It's unique. There was a mountain of fries on my plate, the portion sizes are good enough for two people, I wasn't able to finish this alone. Menu is a little slim

I like showtime. The atmosphere and aesthetic are both very welcoming. It is a great restaurant for a group of friends that is different from your regular pub. No alcoholic drinks served here. Also, they have a good selection on their menu. The staff are really friendly and they do have other items from the menu as I ordered rice with veggies and soy. However I did ask them for no hot sauce but the final platter did come with hot sauce. Similarly, my friend asked them to hold the imitation bacon (halal) but he ended up with it on his final platter as well. We still had a good experience here and will return.

I gave it 4 stars but it's probably closer to 3.5. Got another DEAL off DoorDash but nothing piqued my interest. This place was on my front page for a while so I decided why not try it out. I think the DoorDash prices a bit upped from the regular menu but I'm just going to use them for this review because they're what I would've paid. The two items I got (pictured) were the large "showtime classic poutine" (11.95) and their "Ferrero Rocher milkshake" (9.95). I thought the poutine was good. It was decently priced even with the slight markup and a decent portion size. It tasted pretty decent. It didn't have any special additions so it was what I paid for. I was a bit surprised by the milkshake though. A lot of the reviews praised the milkshake in being REALLY good but I thought it was pretty average. Even without markup, the shake is upwards of around $8 which is a lot considering it didn't taste like anything special. I'm sure there were bits of Ferrero in there somewhere but they weren't particularly stand out. It tasted just like a regular chocolate milkshake to me. A bit overpriced on that end. The poutine is about what you'd expect but the milkshake costs way too much for what you're getting...so 3.5 stars it is. It's an OK place but probably won't be returning if there's other options.

I got the chicken and rice with their signature white sauce since it always looked so good on their online menu. I definitely wasn't disappointed, everything was very flavourful and portion size was decent as well. My only complaint is that the chicken was a bit on the dryer side. But other than that, would get again!

Traveling for work and stumbled upon Showtime Bistro. Maybe I stumbled too hard and hit my head because something wasn't right about this place. There were two menu items that were "signature" - the Jerk Poutine and the Mike Tyson Burger. I have no idea why it's called that... it was small, overcooked, unflavorful and greasy. It came with fries that were also very greasy and severely overcooked - not to mention a small portion. All that for about $15. Like I said, something wasn't right about this place. When I walked in, the atmosphere looked like one of those places where you order at the counter and sit wherever with your food. However they waited to seat me and never offered me a beverage. The waitstaff hovered around me as if they felt bad I was dining alone, but never really spoke to me. The menu said they served Pepsi products but they brought me a can of Coke (which I preferred anyway). A bit of commentary on the decor... The walls were covered in quotes from movies from no particular genre - things like Toy story, Casablanca, Godfather, Aladdin. They were also playing music, but only Justin Bieber songs. In the hour that I was there they ONLY played Justin Bieber. I wouldn't go back and I'd be surprised if it stays around much longer.

This is my go to burger when I take out with Uber. Burger is called The Big Show Burger. This time my wife and I dined in. With ourselves and another random table for 2, I found the service to be very slow. Even it being noon the teaffic inside the restaurant had maximum 6 people the entire time we were there. Today my beef bacon tasted different. Is it a different brand? Was it burnt? Just did not enjoy it for some reason. However I usually do. Place is clean

Great space, however food is average. The jerk chicken poutine is really good but they put a lot of sauce, so the fries get soggy quick. If you choose to get it, ask them to put less sauce! The ferrero rocker milkshake is to die for! So good!!!!

First of all, we went on Valentine's Day. Many, if not all ladies in the restaurant got a rose...except for me... I'm not so much of a flower kinda girl anyway. Whatever, we just went there as we didn't want to get ripped off. Location seems a little sketchy. Menu does not have many items. The jerk chicken poutine was amazing, little spicy (I am a mild spice person), but flavourful and very saucy, which I really like. Fries was like Costco fries, the jerk chicken and sauce saved it though. The burger was average, same as fries. Nothing special. The Fererro Roche milkshake was very good. Must try. Very thick and filling, but makes you full of guilt after. We order things, but it took like foreverrrrr. It took aproximately 30min, drank all the water we had. They charge for water by the way (bottled water). For the long wait and price, very disappointed. We didn't even finish the burger or fries. The food definitely looks a lot better than taste.

This place is perfect for hanging out with friends or having dinner with the family. They have lots of parking and seating in the dining room. The decor here looks pretty and they have quotes from movies on the wall. It's nice and bright for photos too. The food here is all 100% halal. They've lot lots of burgers and poutines. They have a good selection of sandwiches to o and some entrees to choose from. The price per person is about $10-$20 depending what you choose to get. I would recommend the poutines. They're cheesy and saucy ! Make sure you save room for dessert ! Their milkshakes are pretty good !!

Went back to show time after about 8 months and again they've changed the layout. Got rid of the booths and add few more tables. Again no longer order at counter now it's sit down. The menu has also been revamped with more options being offered. It's come far from the one pager they used to have about a year ago with only burgers. Now they've got fish and steak etc. I got a show time burger came with wedges and wife got a steak wrap as well as wings as app. I was really surprised when I asked for a salad instead of fries and the waitress told me it would cost $4 more. I've never heard that anywhere. Funny thing is they used to offer salad or fries or wedges as sides no longer apparently. Really weird. However gotta say the wedges were crispy and delicious and man they gave maybe like 6 potatoes worth...it was slot. And the wings were delicious and good size. Definitely would go again.

We were originally going to go to Pai, but since there was a line out the door because we didn't make a reservation, we ate here. The interior was fun, with the original owner's face on many different things, and there was a loud-ish mix of rock and early heavy metal. Apparently, this spot is a chain, and they used to have some US locations, but I'm not surprised they closed. We got some Cauliflower Bites for 5.49 CAD to begin. These were decent and, unlike our poutine choices, not overly salty. The little bits of fried cauliflower could have used a bit more flavor, but they worked for texture, and both of us eventually added some pieces to our poutines. My poutine of choice was the Prime Beef Deluxe, with ground beef, mushrooms, caramelized onions, and green peas, for 13.99 CAD. As a whole, the poutine was rather nasty, with the whole thing feeling wet. The watery gravy lacked flavor compared to the couple of other examples I've had before. The fries, even though they were hot and looked crispy, were limp and potatoey, and they were getting limper by the second because of the bad gravy. The cheese curds were decent, but there weren't that many of them. The beef didn't help how wet the dish was, nor did the frozen peas, with the only decent parts being the caramelized onions and mushrooms. I had maybe 60/70% of it, leaving many very wet fries at the end. The other person had the Buffalo grilled chicken with grilled chicken, buffalo sauce, creamy ranch dressing, and green onions, which was a dollar more. From the little bit I tried, the chicken was certainly better quality, though still a bit gummy. The buffalo sauce had a little bit of heat. The whole thing was extremely overdressed with the sauce, dressing, and gravy, and he had maybe half of it at most. This meal was terrible. They were both a salty mess with bad fries and worse gravy. I've had better poutine in NYC, and there are barely any Canadian spots here. Go here if you're high or drunk and therefore lack proper taste buds.

Smash burgers in Union Station food hall…read more Went for a walk on my lunch break to see what I could grab to eat that wasn't my usual suspects. Stumbled upon this smash burger joint in the food hall at union station. Located in an array of diverse restaurants I found this gem in the pocket between the bay and york concourses amongst the sea of new restaurant spots in the union station area. Not a huge menu, you got the classic burgers and some of their special items on the menu. Sides include "regular sides" and "premium sides", the premium sides is just a classic poutine. I ordered one classic smash burger combo with water and fries, and one extra burger on the side. (one order of fries is enough unless you plan on sleeping at your desk) The burger itself was good. It all the fixings you would expect in a classic hamburger. Lettuce, onion, tomato, pickles, american cheese and secret sauce. There was something lacking though that for me, didn't hit the spot. Perhaps the burger wasn't saucy enough for my liking? It was good don't get me wrong, but one of those "missing something" moments, y'know what I mean? The fries - decent portion, not five guys good, but still a good filler. Fries themselves were crispy and hot, the seasoning was good on the fries with the sriracha aioli. Albeit I did find the fries a little salty to my taste and needed that aqua to quench my thirst. Overall 7/10 experience - if you're looking for seating there's standing and sitting areas all around union but the space directly in front of the restaurant is a mixed bag and pretty busy during a monday lunch hour.

Unfortunately, I was on a time crunch as I had a concert to go to after, and I'm a very slow eater. I figured I'd have a chance to try a bit more in smaller portions via a kid's combo. But turns out, you need a 12yo/younger child with you to be able to order one. - I get the principle, but there was no option to order a smaller portion via other menu items or combos, and no hate to your staff but they made it a big deal. But it wasn't a big deal. But it became a big deal because they turned it into a thing, discussing among their staff, about how I can't order it because I'm not 12 years old. I get it, it's the policy, why would I ask them to go against it, they're just the employees, not the rule makers. But what child is going to Union station to order themselves a kid's combo! Also!!! How do you know I didn't come with a child??? But anyway. Please consider offering a small non-kids combo in the future for people who don't like ordering large portions. I ended up ordering the classic smash burger. I loved the texture of the burger, it was so moist and the buns were soft. The patty was the perfect thickness. Unfortunately, flavour wise it was extremely salty. I had to wash it down with pop that I bought elsewhere. So disappointed. I really hope this was a one-off. Located in Union Stn beside Mean Bao on the same level as the food court. Closest exit to Scotiabank Arena. There's public seating all around because it's located in a food court.
