Completely out of Kolaches by 10:45 am? Should have known something was wrong when there wasn't any cars out front on a Saturday morning. I guess they don't make enough food for everyone. Mine as well shut down the business and go home if all you have are donuts. I came here for Kolaches ...not donuts. Shouldn't stay open until 8pm if you aren't going to be making continuous fresh Kolaches for your customers. Very disappointed. Probably won't be back. read more

Koala Kolache is not your ordinary donut or kolache shop. They use top quality ingredients and everything has a gourmet flair. They have a few interesting donut options and a ton of innovative kolache options. They are always fairly busy but they move the line pretty fast and the results are worth it. read more

Today was my first day at Koala and OMG why did I waited so long????? The lady who helped me, I believed to be the owner, was so helpful and Patient with me. Originally I was there for the donuts, but unfortunately they have stopped making those since last year. I had both the original cinnamon roll and the Nutella cinnamon roll along with other kolaches. This place was amazing! The sausage gravy kolache was incredible the consistency was perfect. The spicy brisket kolache was a huge amazing surprise. The brisket had the absolute best Smokey bbq flavor. Definitely worth the 20 minute drive. On top of that the people really knew the owner and she thanked us for blessing her store with our business. Have been a couple times now. Don't know if I'll go back after being charged $4.50 for a dozen donut holes. Fine, half were blueberry and the other half were "specialty" ones filled with Pop Rocks. $4.50! (and had to get these as they were out of regular glazed holes at mid-morning) Aren't Pop Rocks about $0.50 for a whole bag? Really? Folks there are nice enough (even though under-staffed both visits) and they do have a wide assortment of eclectic offerings but they're JUST donuts. Sorry, not worth 4x normal prices. read more

I've never thought I would write a review in my lifetime. Needless to say, a donut/kolache shop! Let me start off by saying the shop and decor is cute! Nothing like you've ever seen from a donut/kolache shop. Now, lets go in on the food. DONUTS: probably the best I've ever had. These things melt in your mouth. Oh, did I mention, they do gourmet donuts the right way. It's not your typical different color glazes with different cereal toppings. They are actually thought out and executed well. Like their beer infused. I mean, goodness! You can really taste the craft beer. To top it off, that orange fill is amazing. And don't forget about their blueberry glazed. Yes, blueberry glazed. It's not in a cake form like everyone else. It's in a glazed form which I have yet seen. Now for the KOLACHES: okay, I am more of a savory kind of guy so you already know I love all of their savory kolaches but can I tell you, their handcrafted cream cheese is bomb.com! It has a hint of lemon and just the right touch of sweetness. And that dough yo! Soft and flaky. I don't know how you can make dough flaky but they do! Really had a terrible interaction with the owner. She promised she would work with my company for a very large order but then wouldn't honor the discount she originally promised, telling me she could order lower quality ingredients for my event to give a corporate discount, which didn't sit well with me. She also mentioned she wouldn't care if we went to Karma Kolache (a sister company who sells exact items) instead because she no longer wanted to honor her original verbal agreement. My boyfriend and I were driving around, on our way to the outlet and we stopped in for a quick bite. The people working there are the absolutely nicest! The boyfriend had a kolache called 'the real deal' and I had the egg white & leaks kolache along with a plain cake donut. I LOVE how soft the kolaches were and it was AMAZING! The boyfriend really enjoyed his kolache too. He said it's one of the best he's ever had. The cake donut was really good too! One of the best I've ever had and I'm really picky about cake donuts. It was perfect! They even gave us some free glazed donuts too. Thank you for that! The place was clean and very cute! Stopped by to check out the new place and they were open but not selling donuts. There was a permit delay and the owner held to her word and opened on the grand opening and was GIVING AWAY DONUTS FOR FREE!! She was very friendly and took the time to explain the reason for the delay and tossed in a special Father's Day beer infused donut! The selection was limited as they were not officially open. We had the strawberry and chocolate iced donuts. They were both the cake type donut and very yummy. The donut holes were unbelievable!! Not as light as a Krispie Kreme and not as heavy as Shipley's. They were a PERFECT buttery balance between the 2 different types of donuts. The beer infused donut was also delish! It was filled with a light custard with a hint of citrus flavor and sooo yummy! This place is a definite step up above the typical donut kolache joint in the cypress area. There's a variety of ice cream and toppings you can stuff into a donut! There's also a unique variety of donut flavors to try. Unicorn donut seemed to be a hot seller. Owner even made it right away for the customer since it was sold out. The service is is above and beyond any donut shop I've ever been to. The brisket kolache was smoky and fresh however it was still lacking some flavor. I would try a different one next time. Prices are steep but you can taste the freshness of the Ingredients they use. read more

This was my first time here and I'll definitely be back. I came on a Saturday morning at about 8 and there were about 3 people ahead of me which good because it gave me a chance to look at the items offered even though i already had an idea of what to buy based on other Yelp suggestions. Even though she was helping other customers, the owner still welcomed and acknowledged me warmly. I listened as people in line commented about how wonderful the food is. The woman who helped me introduced herself as the owner and gave me suggestions on what to get while being friendly, efficient and even greeting some customers by name when they walked in all the while helping me with my purchase. The cinnamon rolls are seriously the best I've ever had. I left with 4 cinnamon rolls, 3 or 4 cherry, raspberry and pineapple pastries and about 6 kolaches including chicken which was fantastic. The price is very reasonable for what you're paying for and i love supporting local businesses that appreciate their customers. This place does and I'll most certainly be back. read more

The owner was very sweet when I stopped in a couple days ago , the atmosphere was so warm and welcoming. I rate that 5/5. BUT this is a bit more pricier then any other kolaches I've gotten. I ordered the sausage and gravy kolache to give it a try since it's my fave at kolache factory, and when I took a bite the dough was doughy like it wasn't fully cooked, plus there was too much gravy and it completely over powered the sausage inside. This place is still relatively quite a drive for me living in jersey village, but when I have time it is worth the drive! I used to never really crave kolaches, but recently been on a cinnamon roll kick for the last few months. So I yelped for places with good cinnamon rolls and found this place. Been frequenting here since then. Wish I could make it there earlier to try the good stuff, but I'm thankful there's almost always cinnamon rolls available (mostly the plain/Nutella ones which I prefer more of anyway). Love their kolaches, especially the savory ones as they're the only ones I gravitate towards. My favorites so far are the chicken tikka, sausage and gravy, pizza, and smoked brisket ones. So yummy! Everyone who works there is so nice, and met the owner a couple of times and I love her enthusiasm for the products she sells and makes. Every other time, she'll give me an extra kolache or cinnamon roll on the house. Such great customer service. Though I'm sad they close so early now, I was glad to hear that the owner gets to spend more time with her child and rest. Love this place! read more

My children absolutely loved this place. At first my kid was upset that there wasn't any chocolate donuts. Well he instantly changed his attitude when he got something that was in my opinion way better. The staff was extremely nice, and helpful. They had a variety of choices mostly kolache's, but they also had cinnamon rolls, and danishes. All sorts of flavors, and oh the aroma is quite spectacular. We tried Koala Kolache for the first time on Sunday. We arrived at about 11:30 AM, and they had obviously already sold out of many of the options. We ordered the black bean enchilada, pizza, real, and spicy real kolaches. They were all very good. We asked what they typically sold out of first and were told it's the sausage gravy kolache. Fresh and tasty ingredients. Reasonable prices for the quality paired up with great customer service. My partner and I were taking the day off to do something fun and we decided to get some kolaches. I had heard that this place had some really bomb vegetarian options so I suggested we drive a little out of our way to try it out. First of all, the woman who was working there was *super* sweet. Immediately picked up that I was a vegetarian, kept my kolaches separately, and struck up a conversation about the new Jackfruit kolaches they were planning. It was kind of a splurge, cost a little more than our average breakfast, but I wanted to leave a tip for the nice convo. She wound up giving my partner and I two free muffins. Which was awesome!
