My son treated me to a dinner here recently...and we noticed some big changes. Since last time here (not too long ago), they added these big, comfy booths in the middle of the restaurant. Also, they added some spooktacular Halloween decor! We stopped in around 6:30 pm on Monday night, and was able to slide right into a seat with no wait. We ordered 2 apps, Crab Rangoon and Shrimp Tempura...and both were really good. In fact, my son thought it was possibly the best Rangoon he's ever had. Shrimp Tempura was super-crispy...and there were 5 big strips. Yum!! For our mains, I just got this sushi roll, "Hottie Roll". It was pretty good, but somewhat basic. Nothing like the rolls I tried the very first time here (see pics from my 1st visit...WOW??). My son got this Chicken Teriyaki rice dish, and he told them to take out the veggies (*SIGH*). He seemed to enjoy his dish. Overall, we both enjoyed our meal...and found the restaurant very relaxing and accommodating. Honestly, I was most impressed on my first visit...with their chef-inspired sushi presentation. I think that was the master sushi chef for this restaurant? Still, there's no better place in Rock Hill that offers such a comprehensive sushi menu, as well as a wide variety of rice dishes...and even ramen.

Great food and different choices which we loved the variety. I love the atmosphere and the servers were attentive. We will be back!

After drinking some wine next door at the nail salon, I decided I needed to get some food in my belly. The person at the salon said the food at Kobe was good, so I decided to try it out. It was December so they had a nice Christmas tree in their lounge area located next to the bar at their front entrance. The crab rangoon was excellent. Very crispy. The dynamite chicken was just ok. It was pretty flavorless and the chili spice I asked for didn't help much. It was disappointing that I got a coke for $3 and was never offered a refill. I ran out. The atmosphere is typical bar like. They do have regular tables to sit at. I would try it again, I may have just ordered the wrong thing to be impressed.

Was in the area on business so decided to dive into the fast growing Rock Hill sushi scene by giving the highest rated spot a try during lunchtime. Decided to start with some Nigiri (Hotate, Madai, Unagi, Ikura) to get a feel for the quality and flavor of the fish and rice and overall, the fish wasn't bad or anything, but also didn't have much flavor as it was just kinda eh. From there, I decided to try a couple of rolls to get a feel for presentation, taste and quality, so I went with Black Dragon and 911. Again, nothing bad to say, but to me, the rolls were basic level, similar to something one would find at Sushi 101, Mr Tokyo or a comparable mid-level type spot. The rolls weren't built very well as they broke apart easily and didn't have much in the way of overall taste but again, I will say that the service was really friendly and attentive, with my water glass being filled consistently which is a always a huge plus in my book, so that takes the rating from a 2.5 to a 3. Given the area, I didn't have high expectations, and for Rock Hill, this is a totally passable spot, but in my view, as long as you don't go into it expecting authentic Japanese, you will be fine. I see lots of high reviews, so ultimately I say judge for yourself, but given my love for sushi (as evidenced by my reviews), I can't in good conscience give this a higher rating as that would do justice to the handful of places in the Charlotte and surrounding area that are legitimately 4 star establishments, as grading on a curve due to location wouldn't be fair in my opinion. With that said, the service was welcoming and friendly, and it is a relatively decent option given the area, so don't be afraid to check it out and judge for yourself.

The sushi was excellent! Super fresh and delicious. Hibachi was fantastic too. Best spring rolls I've ever had. The only complaint I have is not with the food but the very inattentive waiter on a not busy Thursday evening after 8pm. Food was A+ but service was a C at best. I'm looking forward to returning and trying other menu items.

This is a really nice spot! Service is great. The Godzilla roll was delicious! Only thing was I wish it had three more pieces of sushi because I was still hungry afterwards. The pieces are quite thin.

The restaurant is clean and has great ambiance. Hostess and waitress (Ella) were extremely friendly and made us feel at home. Food was served hot and very delicious. Our friends have been here several times and recommended it to us for his birthday. We will be back and pricing is reasonable.

Salad w ginger dressing. Samaria roll and dragon roll no spicy mayo! Yummy

Service excellence, friendly , presentation beautiful and delicious samurai roll w no spicy mayo. Green Dragon delivers excellent taste along with hot green tea. So great.

We love Kobe!! The food is always phenomenal and, more so, the staff is phenomenal. We have quickly become regulars and love the speciality rolls. Each time we visit the staff remember us and always go above and beyond, specifically for our one year old who they have dubbed Sweet Carrot Baby.

My son found this place and was always bragging about it. He brought his mother and myself here so that we could try it for ourselves, and "BOY" am I glad we did! May I say the food and drinks were excellent along with the service. The flavors and food presentations were outstanding. The Chef's are true artisans. To go along with the complete dining experience, Ella and the rest of the wait staff have always gone above and beyond expectations each and every time that we have come back. They genuinely care and understand the concept of real customer service. From the greetings at the door until the "Thank You's" as you leave. This is truly our new favorite spot, as we have celebrated my son's birthday here as well as put it into our regular dining rotation. I have nothing but high recommendations and assurances that you won't be disappointed.

Stumbled upon this place during a work trip and shockingly surprised coming from CA! Service was great and fish was fresh! This would be double the price at my usual spot in California! What a great experience.

Our server seemed new and a bit confused a lot. We wanted a specific sake which she said she'd check to see if they were out of and when she came back she didn't tell us we were out of it just asked what we wanted again. We got a different sake which was DISGUSTING. Could barely drink it. After putting in our sushi order for AYCE, I let her know about my shellfish allergy and just asked that anything with lobster or crab be on a separate plate. She was very confused, apparently not knowing what shellfish was and went down the list of all fish asking what was safe.... One of my rolls was supposed to be a spicy salmon but came out just a regular salmon but I just ate it. The sushi itself was very good, I loved the abundance of special rolls they offer.

With it being my first time back in Fort Mill after sometime, I was ecstatic to see this place show up. Upon entrance, the elevated honeycomb seating on the right immediately caught my eye and I knew I had to sit there. The staff was polite in greeting me and provided recommendations after I sat down. For a drink, I decided to try the POKKA Oolong Tea, which was a toss up on whether I'd enjoy it. It was delicious and settled perfectly with all the food. For an appetizer, I decided to get the Tokoyaki which came in a solid portion and tasted great. For my ramen dish, I opted for a house favorite, Spicy Garlic Ramen with a level 2 heat. The whole dish was a perfect balance of tasty topping, well cooked noodles, and a delicious broth. The pork was so tender and of good quality. All in all, this place has such a wonderful atmosphere for grabbing some food by yourself or with friends. The small plates make for perfect sharing and the seating arrangement breeds a feeling of togetherness so often missing from dining experiences. The staff was so kind and helpful, and I even got to learn a bit about the beauty of Indonesia.

We had a great dinner, but there were three things that kept it from being a 5-star experience. First, the air conditioning. I understand it's a hibachi restaurant and the grills naturally make the dining room warmer, but I've eaten at many hibachi restaurants over the years and have never experienced one this hot. Everyone at our table was sweating, and it became pretty uncomfortable. Second, the appetizer. The salad was fantastic--they certainly didn't skimp on the dressing--and the soup was absolutely delicious. However, the "appetizer" consisted of just two shrimp. Since I ordered the Hibachi Steak & Scallops, two shrimp were a nice addition, but I wouldn't really consider two shrimp an appetizer. My girlfriend ordered the Hibachi Chicken & Shrimp, so her appetizer was simply two more shrimp. It would have been nice to have another appetizer option instead of just adding shrimp to every meal. Third, the chef. The food was cooked perfectly and was absolutely delicious, but the hibachi experience itself was missing the entertainment. One of the things that makes hibachi special is watching the chef combine excellent cooking with fun tricks, conversation, and interaction with the guests. Our chef prepared the meal well and did the classic onion volcano, but beyond that, he simply cooked. It lacked the energy and engaging performance that I've come to expect from a hibachi restaurant. Those three things aside, the meal itself was outstanding. The salad, soup, steak, scallops, chicken, shrimp, fried rice, and vegetables were all excellent, and the portions were very generous. The friendly staff and delicious food definitely make Fuji worth visiting, and with just a few improvements, it could easily earn that fifth star from me. Overall, I give Fuji 4 stars.
