He Kept me intentionally misinformed and out of the loop so to speak! Long story short, I sought out the advice of David S. Hunter known locally as the IRS TaxDoctor because I understood that he really knew his stuff and he had quite the rapport and a very good reputation with the folks down @ the IRS. In talking with David for the very first time I could see that he saw the bigger picture. He was incensed by the injustice that I had been served as I disclosed to him the various facts regarding my circumstances... David went to bat for me, jumped into the dog eat dog arena and represented me on my behalf..in addition I felt David's fee was extremely fair, and not nearly as high as a few attorneys, and tax representatives quoted me. By the way, everyone except David told me that we were going to win and they seemed to be promising me the stars. David did not. He presented options and the possible outcomes, but he never guaranteed anything. David did however prevail and won me back several thousands of dollars that were collected in error against me! Last year 2010 I started to receive letters from the IRS stating I owed them OVER $100,000. I thought it must be a mistake. I dont make but $36,000 to $40,000 at my job, depending on how well my company does. Also I had'nt even filed a tax return in a couple of years. ( i know, kinda dumb, live & learn). So I started calling the tax practices I found online and I got 2 kinds of responses over the phone. The 3 firms David Hunter did not work at, or own I should say, all tried to intimidate me and scare me into hiring them, by saying the IRS was going to garnish my paycheck, they could take my house or car, really heavy handed stuff. All in the name of getting me into their offices and raking me over the coals. I didn't feel right so I kept calling until the last call I made was to The Hunter Co/ IRS Tax Doctor & David Hunter actually answered the phone! We spoke and the conversation went like this. I will never forget it!! I told David of the letters, he asked me what I did for a living and how much did I earn. I told him I was a furniture delivery driver and was paid based on performance. He asked if I was married, & had kids..Yes & yes. He then asked me" how it was possible for someone like me to owe so much". I laughed and said 'that's why Im callin you." He then asked if I had filed all my returns up to that date and I informed his I had not. "OOHH "said David, "I think I know whats going on". He then asked if I had a large financial transaction in the past 3-4 years and he rattled of a few examples, 1 of which was selling a house. I said "yes I sold a house about 2 1/2 yrs ago." David said "he knew what my problem was". He said I needed to file the returns and put the house down. "How much you paid for it and how much you sold it for". "The IRS see's that you sold it and since you didnt file they dont know what you paid, hence they dont know the profit or loss on the deal." They filed for you ( known as an SFR, subsitute for return) and without the purchase price I paid they want the taxes on ALL the money I sold it for. They were trying to tax me on $276,000, I only made 12,000$ on the deal. David explained they were just trying to get me to go somewhere and file my returns. He said a taxpayer never gives up their right to file a return, even after the IRS does one for you. IT WORKED. But I wonder how many people this happens to, who end up paying many, many $1000's of dollars to companies like I encountered before reaching David Hunter, The IRS Tax Doctor. And since 3 out of 4 tried the tactic, I can only assume it's alot. David said it's an unfortunate and unethical practice in his industry. Tax Pros who are preying on people's fear and the unknown, which is everything IRS to most people. I went to see David and He called the IRS on spkr. phone which I appreciated, got documents faxed to him with my permission and that day we prepared the returns. David Charged me $400 to file the 2 returns and it did make the $114,096.93 debt go away. I actually got a $1352 refund all told for the 2 years. This story may not sound all that amazing except for the fact that of the 3 other tax companies I called $5500 was the cheapest quote I was told to fix my problem. I can only assume they knew like David what was needed. (prepare 2 tax returns) They were hoping that my fear and worry over this problem would cloud my better judgement and just pay em to make it all go away. The top quote from a "respected" tax attorney was $12,000. FOR FILING 2 TAX RETURNS!! It obviously never crossed Mr. Hunter's mind to rip me off. I am now using The Hunter Co./IRS Tax Doctor as my go to guy with any tax related issues in my life and I have sent at least 5 people I work with to use David to do their taxes. They all come back raving about the guy, so I even get to be a mini hero to them too. David thanks and I would take the time to help promote you business any day sir, THANK YOU. From start to finish, I felt completely unsupported and undervalued as a client. Communication was severely lacking -- I was the one who always had to call for updates, follow up repeatedly, and push just to get basic information about my own case. At no point did I feel guided through the process or reassured that my case truly mattered. I was shuffled around but my attorney was Astasia Lucas The staff and attorneys came across as cold, dismissive, and lacking empathy. There was little to no understanding of the seriousness of my situation or the emotional and financial toll it was taking on me. I lost my job and my livelihood due to a work-related injury, and this firm failed to advocate for me in a way that reflected the life-altering consequences I now live with. As a client who will be permanently injured, I expected professionalism, compassion, and strong representation. Instead, I felt like just another case file. There's a high turnover here, and it was common that whomever I was working with at the time had left the practice. They submitted settlement offers without even running it by me. My particular case should have wrapped up in under 6mo, and it took TWO YEARS. I never did meet the new attorney that was assigned to my case. He didn't even pop in to say hello when I went in to sign the settlement! They added a charge that was way too high for making copies of invoices from the third parties, so when I asked the person they sent in for signatures for justification, she didn't have it ready. After a very long wait in the conference room, I finally gave up and signed the ppwk just to be rid of them once and for all. By the way, I did get a 'thank you' gift, it was a pen that didn't work. Par. I can't help but think if my case were 'big', I would have had a good experience with an attentive team focused on bringing it to a successful close...

Without my knowledge, one amendment removed me as Successor Trustee and appointed himself Successor Trustee. The 4th Amendment gifted the family home to my mother's handyman. Two out of the 4 Amendments were not notarized. It has been a nightmare ever since. Fast forward to July 2025. Due to what I believe to be a malicious, intentional breach of fiduciary duties, I was forced to hire two attorneys to support my claims against Sean Tanko. Attorney Alice Denton helped me regain possession of my family's home after incurring nearly $150,000 in legal fees, which does not include the additional costs of settling $40K with the handyman. The second and current attorney, Timothy R. Treffinger, has filed a civil complaint against Tanko to recoup legal fees, punitive damages, and compel Sean Tanko to release the inheritance to the FOUR Norrington beneficiaries. It's been almost SEVEN YEARS, and Sean Tanko maintains possession of the Norrington Trust inheritance totaling over a quarter of a million dollars. Currently, Mr. Tanko has refused to comply with a Court Order to respond by July 1, 2025, to Civil Complaint A-23-879462-C. This is another example of his intentional maliciousness stall tactics, which continue to be displayed, apparently without consequence. In 7 years since my mother's death, Tanko has been allowed to behave in what I believe to be blatant legal malpractice with zero culpability because of his position & status in Clark County, Nevada. Currently, I'm in the process of filing a THIRD complaint with the Nevada State Bar. Both prior complaints were rejected, despite the submission of three reams of exhibits as evidence. In May 2021, the Nevada State Bar congratulated Sean Tanko on their website. This is a direct conflict of interest.
