I visited this florist to pick up a corsage for prom and decided to purchase some additional flowers for my home. The flowers were displayed in the front of the store, wrapped similarly to grocery-store bouquets, and there were no signs indicating that customers should not handle them. When I picked up a bouquet and turned to ask a question, the owner immediately raised her voice and scolded me for touching the flowers, stating that customers were not allowed to do so. While I understand that stores may have policies about handling merchandise, it was not what was said that bothered me, it was the way it was said. The tone was unnecessarily harsh, embarrassing, and completely inappropriate. I apologized and explained that there was no sign and that I had no way of knowing the policy. Rather than accepting the explanation and moving on, the owner continued to repeat herself and argue. What should have been a simple, polite interaction became an uncomfortable confrontation. This was a special day surrounding prom, and customer service should reflect the significance of those moments. Unfortunately, I left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. Professionalism and kindness cost nothing, and this business could benefit from improving the way it communicates with customers. read more

It was a joke what they delivered - not even close to the bouquet I ordered and PAID for. Was to have African lilies - didn't use any kind of lily - used 6 white roses that were already open and looked horrible. Was to be a dish arrangement so the greenery is planted and continue to be enjoyed. Not. Was to have a nice woven basket - used a gray colored what looked like an Easter basket. Ordered flowers from a website. Guess they contract it out to this florist. The bouquet that came was short by quite a few flowers. Ordered 18, got 13. Paid $150 for flowers and a $20 chocolate box. They also forgot the card with my written note for the recipient. I called the number on my order confirm and they apologized profusely and insisted on sending an entire new order. I then received an incoming call from Koch florist. He chastised me for using the website and implored me to use them direct. He complained about the message he received from the website which isn't my fault or my problem. And then said he wasn't sending a new order. But would send the missing flowers and 2 extra. Not once did he apologize or even take ownership of the mistake. Seemed annoyed I would call to complain about such. If you read these sir, imagine you ordered 1800 flowers from your distributor and they only sent 1300 ... would you let it go? Would you be pissed if the manager of that place called you and gave you a bunch of lip for ordering online? Now the new flowers come and they are trash. 2 stars for the original bouquet of 68% what I paid for, those flowers are gorgeous.. but the ones they sent begrudgingly to fix their own mistake were closed and wilting. The worst experience I have ever had with a florist. I ordered flowers for my daughter's 40th birthday 3 days in advance through Teleflora. On delivery day, the florist called her to say they couldn't find the address. It's a townhome on a main street that has been there for over a year. When she realized they called, it was only 2:30 in the afternoon. When she returned their call, they answered the phone but said they were closed and refused to deliver the flowers. Teleflora never notified me that there was a problem until late that afternoon. I will never use this florist or Teleflora again. Their website says they are "100% reliable." This was the worst experience I have ever encountered. I send flowers to family from Michigan to New Jersey often, read about this place and thought I would give it a try. I have had great experiences at other flower shops and so I did not think it there be an issue. The owner called me because he couldn't find directions to her home. Her home is around a populated area (concern one about the shop), then he insisted I give him her contact information, even though this was a surprise gift, I told him this is a surprise and would not feel comfortable giving out her information and offered to help him with directions and he yelled at me and hung up. When I called back to the store he answered and was short with me and eventually hung up again. I am so disappointed in this encounter and will never ever use the shop again. The man who owns this store is a cranky jerk and I do not appreciate being bullied. read more

I have used Koch infrequently but many times over the years. I never have a good or a bad experience. They seem apathetic. That is fine because they are convenient and I know what I want. Today I tried to send a Christmas center piece to the same people I send to every year from Koch. I am in their system. The address, both mine and the people I am sending too are in the system. I call every year,give a credit card number and this is done. I explained everything to the man who answered the phone and he just couldn't get it. I have experienced this feeling of no matter what I say or how well I communicate , the person on the other end of the line is incapable of understanding in the past, but infrequently. He put me on hold four times, was abrupt, condescending and the call ended by him slamming the phone down after him saying that perhaps I should use some other florist. Amazingly bad business. Have been around for ages. Original owners were amazing, friendly, knowledgeable and service obsessed. Parents insisted I use them for my wedding. I got a lot of blah blah I know exactly what you want, and because I did NOT know what I wanted, an invoice with no specifics on it, no quantities, no details on the kind of flowers. When I got to the reception there were a few garlands outside and some miniscule centerpieces on each table. Warning - specify the flowers, colors, and quantity of each on the invoice and insist on seeing an actual centerpiece made up before approving anything. Specify where flowers will be placed at the venue, how many, what kind, etc. Guess this is true for any florist. But my mother thought she could trust that her old relationship with this business would stay the same and they'd just take care of it. read more

Sadly, my experience with flower quality was unsatisfactory. I stopped in to purchase four irises - granted a very small order. I live close by and immediately put them in water for a reception. By the second day, they were drooping, brown-edged, and had lost petals. I'm currently looking at Stop and Shop flowers that are a week old and look great. $8 for four stems that did not last - not a good deal. read more

i don't understand how anyone would like this place!!! they are very rude!!! i was trying to send my 89 year old grandmother flowers for her birthday. she lives in a senior building in middletown. the florist called me because they needed to know her exact apartment number. i don't know it, so i was trying to explain to her, all you have to do is look for her name on the name list when you enter the building and ring the bell. she kept insisting that she needed to speak to my grandmother so she knows that their coming and she will let them in. first of all i said its a surprise so why would i have you call her. i tried to explain to her that my grandmother can't really hear on the phone but she will hear the bell and let you in. she will be home all day, she doesn't go anywhere. she insisted that the people in the office will not let them and in and i called the office and they told me to tell the woman exactly what i already told her. i asked to speak to the owner and i said the woman i was speaking to was being extremely rude and he said she wasn't being rude. i said she most certainly was. so he told me he would credit my card and i could go to another florist. i said fine i was going to do that anyway. very ignorant and very rude!!! horrible people!!! read more

I decided to shop small business this year. Went to my local florist instead of buying at Costco or my local supermarket. I went in requesting 4 centerpieces for my Christmas table and that I wanted to spend 30.00 per centerpiece. (Which is already 10.00 more than I would have spent at Costco 20.00 more than I would have spent in my local supermarket) I came in to pick up my flowers Christmas Eve in my small round fish bowls and what a sorry site of a hand full of flowers in a vase. Tied with a string and thrown in to my round fish bowls. I then asked to switch the case with tacked on another 5.00 per bunch for a grand total of 45.00 per centerpiece. I counted 4 carnations a few scraps of a Christmas tree and 3 baby roses. I asked how much the flowers were worth and the very nice lady behind the counter told me 30.00 worth plus labor. I showed my centerpiece to another florist today and they told me the flowers in each of my arrangements were worth no more that 5.00 each. It's just sad that people think it's ok to rip people off especially during the holiday season. Needless to say I will not be shopping there anymore. read more

I'm giving this place one star and I haven't even gotten my flowers yet! I'm assuming a friend or family member sent me flowers due to my recent knee surgery. I got a call from Koch asking whether my residence is an apartment and if so, what the name of the complex is. It doesn't have a "name", it is simply an apartment building at the address they were given. Then I got another call asking where the delivery person should park and if they can deliver in the back. Since I'm on crutches, I can't easily come down the back stairs to let them in. They ended up trying to deliver while I was unavailable and I got another call that was curt and rude informing me that I did not answer when they rang. While I'm sorry I missed the delivery person, I don't appreciate being snapped at one day after surgery and while I'm resting and on pain meds. So far I am wholly unimpressed with this place. Let's hope the flowers are pretty at least. read more
