I had a taste for Mexican food and wanted to try it out. When I arrived in the parking lot I was confused about where to park but found out after seeing people inside that the doors were open. They have a drive thru right next to and entrance that says drive thru only so that threw me off. It was very compact inside and filled with families so I knew the food was gonna be a hit. There seemed to be only two servers who were running around like crazy to get people their food. I ordered pickup and waited at least 10 minutes before my food came out because they were busy. I even picked it up 20 minutes late because I got busy so it would have been nice to have it ready to go. Nonetheless, the waitresses were nice even given the pressure they were under. My food was perfect. The best Mexican food place in the area in my opinion. Perfectly seasoned, enough food, and tasty.

Food is always fresh! Our favorite is shredded beef burnt cheese tacos with extra salsa. Service is normal really good. Waitresses are friendly. Ambiance is clean-it's time for an update. It's a busy restaurant they can afford to class it up a bit. Restrooms are always clean. If you visit Las Vegas Kocina is a must try for that authentic northern NM vibe.

Service was really slow. The food wasn't that great. I ordered the taco plate and it was pretty plain. Also ordered chips and salsa since it's not complementary. The salsa was just hot but not very tasty. should have just went to a taco truck.

I was not very impressed with this restaurant. Our waitress seemed be in a big hurry and didn't have time for us. Should've left before we sat down. I realize all restaurants have staffing issues, I get it, but 2 hours to get our food, not normal. We asked for chips and salsa, that came about 15 minutes after we asked. Then we asked for more salsa, it took so long to get the salsa we ended eating most of the chips. I asked if we could get more chips, she yelled, we're out of chips. I didn't mean to not believe but when I looked toward the kitchen I noticed a clear container with about 10 gallons of chips in it. The Fajitas were good, the Frito Pie was real good, the stuffer was not edible and the Posole was cold, like out of the can cold! Probably won't ever come back

I rate based on entire experience and this was a 4/5 barely. But mostly for friendly waitress (tho understaffed), great red sauce, and huuuuuuge portions. It's not a fancy place at all but it's quaint, has a drive through area, and cute yard/outdoor area. The prices aren't amazing but not bad upon first look but for the portion size you get I think the prices are very good. I had their special the huevos rancheros (7.99 instead of normal 8.99) Christmas style to try both sauces. I really liked their green sauce so don't get me wrong but compared to other places I thought their green was above the average good sauce around here. I made this dish two meals but if it didn't get so soggy (nature of that dish) I could have made it last 3. Their beans also I thought were above average. Tortilla was average. My companions both had bacon stuffies in red sauce which they all seemed to love- I'm just not big on bacon stuffed in anything since I feel like crispiness is compromised. *side note I had takeout their once as well when I was sick. Companions brought me Chile rellenos but I didn't try them till the next night being sick. They were very good but naturally soggy sitting in a takeout box for nearly a day and reheated in a microwave. Even soggy messes they were delicious, I'd love to try them fresh! Our service was mixed- extremely friendly waitress but I think they're just understaffed like everyone else. It became busier after we had our food and getting a to go box (you'll probably need it) and getting out took awhile. Definitely would go back again.

    Enchiladas with an added egg

A place where the locals eat and everyone knows everyone. That's part of the charm of local cafes. The food. Oh my. Where to start Spicy - yep Large portion - yep Tasty - you bet From the first bite to the last it was delicious We ordered the enchilada special and added an egg. Smothered in green and red (Christmas) and didn't regret it. This is why we travel monthly from CO for our fix Pull of the main drag and give this spot a try

They were so ridiculously good that I ordered another round... and then somehow another. Before I knew it, I'd inhaled nine sliders like I was training for the Olympic Competitive Munchies Team. Mission accomplished--the munchies were officially defeated. I paid my tab, waddled out the door, and went to smoke another dooby. Now I'm sitting here wondering... after this next dooby, am I about to march right back in there and order another round of sliders? The odds are looking pretty good. Happy trails, buckaroos! PS: I honestly couldn't tell you what they taste like under normal circumstances. But if you're higher than gas prices, those sliders are five-star fine dining.

We ordered a burrito, fries and drinks - a Manhattan for my wife and a chocolate martini with Kettle One and crème de cacao for me. My wife's drink was to her liking, but the chocolate martini tasted like there was coffee liqueur in it. Since I didn't know when our waitress would appear again, I told the first person we saw - a young man - that I couldn't drink anything with coffee because of the caffeine, and that I needed it remade. He took it back to redo. While we were waiting, one of the pool players dropped a very loud f-bomb when he missed a shot. Then a young child began crying very loudly. The young man came back with the remade drink, and the coffee taste was gone. After it had been over 45 minutes I had to ask what looked like the manager what had happened to our burrito and fries. She went back to check, and our food finally appeared. The burritos were long on rice and short on carne asada, something we couldn't know until we started eating. At some point our original waitress came back, and my wife told her we had to send back my first drink because of the coffee ingredient. She denied any coffee-containing spirit was used, and walked away. We never saw her again. I had to ask the manager for an itemized ticket, since the ones we had were sign for a total amount only, with no itemized detail. Since the original waitress had closed out our ticket right after we ordered and had given us our check, we paid and left. No tip was left. If you want a properly-mixed drink, be prepared to explicitly request every ingredient. Better still, don't expect great drinks or food at this place - stay away. There are lots of other choices in Las Vegas NM.

Restaurant was fairly busy upon our arrival but we were seated immediately. We ordered chips and salsa (which were not complimentary) to start off. My mom and BFF ordered the chile rellenos plate and I ordered a Navajo taco with Xmas (red and green chile). Food was ok, both mom and I enjoyed our plates. I found the green chile was spicier than the red, but the red had more flavor. My friend did not like his plate at all as he thought it was terrible. The salsa was very mild and lacked flavor, but the chips were good and they give you plenty of them. Also, I did not like how they served the entrees on paper plates and your drinks in red Dixie plastic cups. I feel that's fine if you are ordering fast food or eating outside at a taco truck/stand but not at a sit-down restaurant. I will definitely not be back, only because I don't live in the area, but if I did I might order take out.

It was an average Saturday night and we were on our way home, so we stopped. There were two waitstaff for the entire diner side. (The main dining room was being used by a party). So, in total, there were about 15 tables for 2 waitstaff. I should have known something was off at the beginning, when our waitress started off by telling us how she hadn't been able to eat herself, while taking our order. The whole time she complained about how she was slammed. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak with a salad, veg, mashed potatoes and gravy. His came out sans salad and completely cold. I ordered a grilled cheese with chips. I think that sandwich saw the flattop for a max of 10 seconds. The cheese hadn't melted and was still cold from the walkin. AND ALL OF THIS TOOK 35 minutes for our meal to arrive from order to delivery. And, as a bonus, the light was out in the ladies room and I almost knocked myself out, going into the stall. (The light, I learned later was outside the ladies restroom). It was absolutely miserable and we will be eating elsewhere when we go to Vegas.
