I was eager to love the salmon poke bowl I got from Poke Poke. Ingredients were fresh, staff were nice, and service didn't take too long. Location is also fantastic, right next to a lot of other Asian restaurants and in a pretty popular area in Mississauga. The shop is small but the ordering area is a bit cramped, flush against the wall. It wasn't that busy when I went, so that wasn't a huge issue. Pricing is about the same as everywhere else you can get poke, but portions run small. The salmon was good in terms of flavour - I love it when places marinate the salmon because it adds to the flavour of the bowl - but there wasn't a lot of it and I hit the bottom of the bowl with only rice and a bit of veggies left over. Biggest issue for me was sauce - I asked for extra (unagi and shichimi, which were solid) and got what I would consider regular at best. Dry poke is sad and ruins otherwise a fantastic meal. All in all a decent poke place if you're really dying to get some. The ingredients are fresh but portion size + pricing doesn't really give me any reason to come back.

They have a lot of signature options or you can choose to build you own poke bowl. I went with the Californication (one of the signature bowl) which comes with both tuna and salmon, crabmeat salad, avocado, seaweed salad, mangoes, and masago. You also get to choose the sauces you want on top and mix and match as your heart desires. I got the sesame sauce and spicy mayo. The price is on par with most poke places and you get a good sized portion for the regular. My bowl was packed to the brim! They were super generous with the tuna and salmon and you can tell that the ingredients were quite fresh. I loved my bowl and was super satisfied and full afterwards. I was informed at the beginning that they are planning on redoing the front of the store into a seating area so that should be coming soon. In the meantime, you can only really do takeout at this place and there's no public seating outside in the plaza. Overall, good poke and decent price. I'll be back next time when I need a poke fix.

We ordered: 60 pcs assorted sushi and roll platter ($49.99), Philadelphia roll ($4.99), and spicy salmon roll ($5.99). Overall, very affordable, especially with the grand opening promotion. My family and I were stuffed and in agreement that we could have done with just the 60 pcs platter amongst the four of us. The quality was good, not above and beyond, but the ratio of filling-to-rice was quite good and rice was made well (not too wet and not too dry, meaning all sushi and rolls held their shape when handled). Freshness was there as well. The Philadelphia roll was really well made in terms of the ratio of all their fillings; but I felt the spicy salmon was lacking some spicy mayo for that heat. I'd have to say my favorites were the unakyu (sushi version with unagi), the yam roll (crunchy and had a delicious sweet sauce), and the Philadelphia roll. They were also decently generous with ginger and wasabi. Oh, almost forgot to mention that they start you with miso soup which is included with the meal. It didn't taste the most authentic and could have been more flavorful but I appreciated that it came out piping hot and had a good amount of seaweed and mini tofu inside. The protein variety is pretty good here and it's fun to build your own and choose your favs. The first time we tried it, we got the classic Salmon and shared it because we already had eaten dinner prior to that. It was super spicy (like kimchi spicy but minus the sour flavor)... So we drank SO much water. The second time, we decided to get more tame sauces and could actually taste all the delicious flavors of the poke. The owner is super nice. It's fairly quiet inside the restaurant and doesn't have any smell to it. The bubble tea was pretty good too! I got the classic lemonade which was basically fizzy lemonade. The tapioca was similar to Chatime in flavor, so I say pretty good!! Overall, definitely coming back!
