I have purchased thousandssss of dollars buying wide range of Kohler products 2-3 years ago. The touchless kitchen faucet has broken down, the water flow is non existent and the paint has chipped off. Called the customer service for the past month and a half multiple times. They only replacing the "defective" valve and not the entire faucet. Paint is not part of the warranty, they said! After only (2 months) my Kohler Decree double sink began to RUST in both sides and rust spots forming around the top. Do your homework. It would be best to "try one on" in person. Just had one installed to enjoy a jetted tub that didn't require laying down on the floor basically. The back and seat are like a chair with no recline to the back. Disappointing. The water only comes up to my waist. So shoulder, neck and upper back stiffness not addressed with this tub. For hot water you will need a large one and even with that I had to turn the temp up to achieve a warm bath. Also, because I am very agile, I bought spa steps to allow me to fill the tub first then step over it. By the time the bath is over, I'm more relaxed and can wait the 5 minutes for it to drain. read more

While opening my shower door, the set pin broke and flew out causing the door to go off balance. The door completely shattered puncturing and slicing my arm barely missing a major artery. I had pictures and video and documentation of the incident. Kohler didn't investigate stating I cleaned up the area so there was nothing to come investigate. Finally After 6 months with no decision, I received a call from the third party handling the claim that Kohler denied the claim, not even refunding me for a new shower door. I have permanent scaring and trauma from the incident. They seem to be good at providing new products if defective, but don't they don't properly investigate actual claims where individuals are injured and scared and traumatized. Back in mid-September 2025, I emailed Kohler this message: "Yesterday, the flush/refill mechanism failed in my invalid wife's Kohler toilet-tank. The failure was because the "Guide FV Canister Kit" broke during normal operation, and while the tank-cover was in place. The broken part is item 1063553-AA (ABS). This was the 2nd time for the identical failure! See the attached photo, showing yesterday's broken part on the right, next to the same or very similar part that had broken previously, on the left. Luckily, I had a replacement flush valve that I was saving for just such an occasion. My plumber was able to take the required part from the new flush valve and use it to replace the broken part--without a trip to the supply store and without having to lift the toilet tank. Otherwise, his charge would have been substantially more than the $160 just for the house call. I don't expect Kohler to reimburse me for the plumber's house call--but I do expect Kohler to do me the courtesy of sending a couple of no-cost replacements for part 1063553-AA. My address is [Redacted]. I also would advise that Kohler consider re-engineering what obviously is a weak part. Just looking at it, I wondered if the 4 little struts that tend to break could not be made just a bit thicker?..." * * * "Kohler Customer Care" promptly replied, "...While we truly value your feedback and your suggestion regarding the potential re-engineering of the part, we regret to inform you that we are unable to send service parts in advance. The wrong toilet was sent, and when the right one arrived and my plumber called technical support, he was advised to reuse parts from the old toilet despite safety concerns. As soon as I moved in, the toilet part failed while I was sitting on it. The moment they learned my husband would not be present, they refused to come. I explained clearly that we both understand we would need to be present to sign any agreement if we chose to move forward. That did not matter to them. Refusing to provide a simple quote because my husband could not attend is not only inflexible -- it feels outdated and frankly insulting. I am fully capable of discussing a remodeling project and making informed decisions about my own home. This policy cost them our business immediately. On September 1st I placed a large order to remodel master bathroom. I decided to go with my 2nd favorite finish because I was told titanium would take longer to receive and I wanted my bathroom done before Christmas. Jan 1st will be 4 months and I have not received the most important pieces, valve trim or bath filler. After numerous complaints, I got a call they would send me temporary open box pieces so I could have a functional bathroom until my pieces arrive. They even sent a small gift. Sadly, my contractor came out to my house to install the day before Christmas Eve and nothing fits or pieces are missing. So now I've incurred expenses on pieces that do not fit. As a Professional Remodeler doing custom work, I have recommended Kohler as the never go wrong option UNTIL NOW. I have always considered their quality and design to be superior and longevity proving it. Like too many of the competitors, they are now using many plastic parts and the standards are lowering so it is no longer a default superiority. MAJOR FAIL: THEIR website. It's a joke. HORRIBLE. Tried ordering direct as my local supply/warehouse rep was out on vacation. SHOWER DOOR UNIT(S) First attempt arrived incorrect size (their fault). lost time and effort. Second attempt arrived incorrect pivot door when spec required bypass door (again their fault). THIRD attempt: correct door unit (two) arrived as correct size, color and bypass specification. ONLY MISSING major installation pieces that are 6ft aluminum mounting rails (2) from BOTH shower door unit boxes. Most polite and apologetic company you may ever contact - HOWEVER, they lack quality control, competence and any ability to "fix" things is questionable based on which rep you randomly get connected to. Sure they fix it, but I'm over 60 days on them "fixing" it and it'll be another couple weeks. My customer is fuming as they don't have a working shower. Moral of the story, maybe stick with your local supplier as they may have ability to fill the gap in a timely fashion. read more

We have been satisfied with our Kohler Executive Chef Kitchen Sink for 17 years. The sink is cast iron with an enamel finish. On June 16, 2020 we placed an order through Ferguson Enterprises for the same model to replace the existing one because the finish is wearing out. The sink was ordered directly from the Kohler factory because there were none in inventory. The sink arrived in 3 weeks and after the plumber removed the old sink we found that the sink enamel finish was damaged in 2 places. Consequently the old sink was reinstalled and a replacement ordered. 3 weeks later sink number 2 arrived and it had the same type of damage. Once again a replacement was ordered from the factory and after another 3 weeks sink number 3 arrives and it was also damaged. All 3 sinks appear to be damaged by insufficient packaging. The outer and inner boxes were crushed on the corners and the Styrofoam packing around the sink was broken. I realize that the sink is very heavy but the packing and shipping should take that into consideration. After 3 damaged sinks and 9 weeks we were done with Kohler. Our sales person at Ferguson was very helpful and worked with us to order a sink from another manufacturer. One week later the new sink arrived in perfect condition. read more

I purchased the Kohler Purist Line for an entire large house of plumbing fixtures. I am very disappointed in the sizes of all of the pieces. The shower components are all huge. The main shower head is fine but the bar it screws into is giant and the handheld shower is the same size as the regular shower head so I have two large showerheads right near each other. The Purist sink faucets are tiny. They should definitely not be used in a master bathroom, especially if there are double sinks and a bigger counter. I would have given 1 star, but the kitchen and laundry faucets look great. read more

I bought about $3000 work of faucets for new bathroom. The nipple for the handheld spray mechanism was the wrong size for our needs (apparently there are 4-5 common sizes). Rather than swapping out the adaptor for the one we need, after keeping me on hold for 15 minutes, they told me I had to order another one and pay for it. There is no way to return the first one. I guess they have the right to do that, but I certainly won't be buying Kohler products in the future and will certainly not recommend them to others based on this. read more

Placed order for Memoirs Toilet directly with Kohler on May 28, 2024. It arrived on June 6. Upon opening and unpacking, we found the toilet tank cover broken. I immediately called (800) 258-8441 and the explained what was going on. I was put on hold and during that time I took the box that contained the lid completely out of the box and found that the toilet itself was covered in a thick layer of gray dust. And there were several of the large staples that looked like they could have come from the main box inside with the tank cover and inside the toilet. When the representative came back on the line to let me know that she had put in the order for the replacement tank lid, I made sure that I had the confirmation number and asked if this could have been a floor model toilet or a returned toilet because of the dust on it and the boxes looked like it had extra tape on it. She assured me that it wouldn't have been a floor model if it came directly from Kohler and that the lid would arrive soon. When I hadn't received it by July 1st, I called back and this time was given a new order number and was informed that it would ship by the 15th of July. I tracked the new order number and when it hadn't shown as shipped by July 18th, I called (800) 456-4537 from info I had received previously this time and was informed that it was delayed and would shipped within a week and that I could still use the order number that I have to track shipment. As of tonight, August 13, that order number is still showing as processing. It has been more than 2 months since my first call and I still do not have a toilet tank cover for a $1,000 toilet that I have not had installed and has delayed the completion of my bath remodel by 7 weeks so far. I sent an email to Kohler on August 12, with all of the above info and added that If I do not receive a replacement toilet tank lid within 2 weeks, I am going to challenge the charge on my credit card and once I have received a refund, you can feel free to have the lidless toilet picked up, but you will have to provide your own boxing because once we were assured the replacement lid would be forthcoming, we unpacked the toilet, cleaned it of the thick layer of dust and scheduled (and now have rescheduled 2 more times) the plumber to install it. And this is the response that I received back... "Thank you for your patience and for detailing the issues you have faced. I can certainly understand how frustrating this can get. I sincerely apologize for the delays and the inconvenience caused. To resolve this issue, we request you to purchase the replacement toilet lid locally. Once purchased the part, please send us the receipt for reimbursement. Please share the receipt directly in this email in pdf or jpg format. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to contact us. Thank you for your understanding and patience Sincerely, Pooja P. Kohler Customer Care" I wrote them back and told them that their response was unacceptable and that after a search online for a replacement tank cover showed that all the places that carried them were out of stock and some were even marked discontinued. Let's talk about this flimsy tank-to-bowl gasket (see photo) In short. It sucks. Seriously. This gasket did absolutely NOTHING to stop water from spitting out the bottom of the tank every time I flushed the toilet. I have purchased many Kohler supplies over the years. Most recently I bought two toilets and a kitchen faucet from Costco (both Kohler brands). The toilets have been excellent but the spray head on the faucet started having issues. The switch to change the spray from regular flow to the fan spray started acting finicky to the point we couldnt get either one to function. It was stuck in between which resulted in a horrible water stream and constant noise which my kids said was a "duck fart". I took the spray head apart and tried cleaning it out, soaking it in vinegar but nothing helped. I finally called Kohler customer support and in less than 3 minutes got a extremely helpful and friendly customer support specialist on the phone. I asked her if it was possible to order a replacement spray head (as the rest of the faucet was working great). She quickly informed me that that its under warranty and they would send out a replacement spray head right away absolutely free of charge. It is rare to find good and friendly customer support these days but my experience with Kohler was exceptional. I rarely feel inclined to leave reviews but this experience deserves one. I bought a brand new Kohler toilet and installed it on Sunday. After installed, I turned on the water and the fill valve does not shut off the supply. I called Kohler. Customer Service was closed and U was asked to call back Monday. I called Monday and had an automated answer to schedule a "call back." The earliest call back appointment was Wednesday morning. Kohler is to cheap to hire someone to answer the phone, much less provide Customer Assistance. Kohler is leaving me without a toilet for a minimum of three days! At this point I have no idea if it will lead to a service call (at my expense or theirs), when I can expect a repair, if I will have to wait for a part to be mailed, or if I will need to remove, repack and return a toilet. I just had a "Corbelle" tall toilet installed by my master plumber of 40+ years. I chose the tall because of my limited physical mobility. The toilet disposes of waste fine, but the Revolution 360 bowl cleaning system is worthless. The water only swirls around 3/4 of the bowl. My "Memoirs" toilet has a lot of small holes under the rim which clean the bowl very well. Whoever designed the Revolution 360 system needs their engineering license revoked. My experience relates to the Kohler customer service provided on the upkeep of fixtures that our home builder installed. In short, I cannot recall having better manufacturer support. Our home has over a dozen Kohler sink and tub fixtures. These are mechanical fixtures and contain no electronics. After roughly 5 years of good service, we began experiencing some instances of hard-to-turn handles, inconsistent water flow, clogged aerators, and dripping. None of these I characterize as definitive manufacturer defects but rather attributed to the aging of maintenance parts(gaskets/seals) and water quality. Every instance has been addressed by Kohler to my satisfaction. When I call the toll-free support line, my wait is relatively short(under 10mins) to reach a live person. The representatives are easy to understand(appear U.S.-based) and attentive. They initially verify the product in question. When unable to find a product ID on the fixture, I was asked to email pictures. I did not have to call back later to wait for them to receive/process my email; it is all accomplished while on the same call. With some other brands I've owned, the manufacturer quickly categorizes sticky or worn parts as a user maintenance problem and refer me to purchase replacement parts. Kohler seems serious about backing the performance of its products. The Support Reps are knowledgeable and have the tools to efficiently isolate your issue and provide a solution. In each of my cases, they sent out replacement parts and maintenance kits at no cost to me. In one instance where a replacement part was not available, they sent out an entire new faucet. The parts kits include clear instructions for the DIY'er. No need to read between the lines like we've all had to do with translated instructions. Part orders are followed up with email confirmation with a status link. I'm sold on the Kohler brand. read more

I purchased a toilet from Kohler 1-2 years ago. I installed it. I bought it at Lowe's and don't have the receipt. It's in my guest bath, not used all the time but never been great with solids. I've installed and repaired, done right but getting to the point I want to hire it now! And I've had some real issues, bad enough recently that I hired a plumber. He told me it was defective. He cleared it - and removed it to be sure. He explained and then I wrote and explained to Kohler. I have explanations from Atul, Mohammed and Pooja, 17 emails in total, back and forth. I told them at the beginning how old it was, told them I didn't have a receipt. They had me take 2 rounds of pics. They had me dismantle my bathroom drain to be sure it wasn't the vent stack. I didn't think it wasn't the vent stack but thought I would just make sure. And I told them the plumber explained the soil pipe in the toilet was malformed and would not let the waste pass properly - at the start. This started on 12/26/21 and ended 1/15/22 by again asking for a receipt after I vented (decently) my frustration with them. I thought they may share the cost, something. They've wasted 2 weeks, no help, no toilet. My time is worth more. On their behalf, I do have a Kohler faucet I am very pleased with. read more
